Richard Linklater (aka the greatest director in the world)

Slacker

Dazed And Confused

Before Sunrise

Waking Life

School of Rock

Before Sunset

The Bad News Bears

Doug Liman

Swingers

Go

The Bourne Identity

Mr. And Mrs. Smith

Add all Kevin Smith's films, and splatter the list with your own choosing of Spielberg films. Also I'm near certain that Terry Zwigoff and Sam Mendes will be on the list in ten years, when they have enough films for me to love. Maybe Zach Braff, but perhaps his one film, which is obviously based on his early adulthood, will be his most interesting story.

To be perfectly fair, you'd have to go back a good ways to actually find enough films from certain filmmakers to cover 24 hours.

I mean, I like Kevin Smith and all, but cosndering he's only made six films and none of them over the length of two hours, he's a pass.

I suppose I'll go with the obvious choice, then, Spielberg.

Ridley Scott

Matchstick Men

Gladiator

Black Hawk Down

Hannibal

Alien

Blade Runner

Thelma & Louise

Kingdom of Heaven

I'd also throw in a couple of Tony Scott's films (I'm sure they helped each other in some way or another on most of their films, either officially or unofficially it doesn't really matter, does it?)

Tony Scott

Man on Fire

True Romance

Enemy of the State

Crimson Tide

Ta-da!

Without a doubt it would be Martin Scorsese. He's been the brains behind so many great films. Those being Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Mean Streets, Goodfellas, Casino, Gangs of New York, and Cape Fear.

I guess it's not hard to figure, when just about all of those feature Robert Deniro, the same actor I mention in the "if you could watch one actor..." thread.

Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarintino, Martin Scorscese, Clint Eastwood, Tim Burton, and Cameron Crowe(although Vanilla Sky could be a long piss break).

Even though Crowe's films might not add up to 24 hours I wouldn't mind Almost Famous taking up the extra time.
