New Birmingham City owner Carson Yeung has admitted his long-term aim is to be in charge of a Blues team of 11 Chinese players.

The Hong Kong-based tycoon paid £15million for a 29.9% stake in Blues this summer, and has agreed to complete a takeover of the club in the near future.

And he wants to put out a full team of his compatriots - once they improve their attitude.

"China has some good players but I don't think they have the right attitude," he said. "They stop progressing, they think too highly of themselves. I hope they improve so that I could form a team of 11 Chinese players in the Premier League."

While Yeung maintains he will not influence team selection, he hopes to bring in "one or two Chinese players" immediately on completion of his takeover.

"I want to complete the takeover as soon as possible, I want to help the club become stronger," he added.

"I hope to have one or two Chinese players at the club, but it's the coach who will choose the players, not me."

The first of those is likely to be national captain Zheng Zhi, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Charlton.

"So far we haven't contacted Zheng Zhi but I think he is excellent, he's good enough," said Yeung. "I just have the opportunity to introduce Chinese players to Steve, but I'll respect our coach."

You mark my words!!!

Big stories this season:

Manchester United retain while Chelsea slip back off the chase, ending up closer to third than first.

Arsenal's lack of forward progress sees them drop out of top four, replaced by Spurs and struggle with Everton to retain fifth.

Newcastle and West Ham both improve with new signings (however much I hate them with a passion).

Villa put in a very respectable season.

Bolton fall away with their squad and management changed.

Reading stay up again leading to increased investment for the following season.

Wigan lose out on the final day to Birmingham who by now have 4 Chinese players.

Derby disappoint and head back down dead last.

I'm interested in seeing why a lot of people think Reading are going to do a u-turn and drop down, not just necessarily in these predictions here, but a lot of people I know in person and on the internet are intent Reading are going to do a Wigan, suffer a case of second season syndrome and just fall like a brick. I think they'll possibly manage to do the same as they did last year if not push for the UEFA Cup.

Also I'm sat here at 8:45 in the morning watching Sky Sports News and have come to the conclusion Darren Lewis is a muppet.
