New Boy Kill Boy is solid. I'm not really happy that they've shed 'their sound' though. They used to sound like an indie mixture of The Killers and Muse, with huge epic choruses. There's occasional hints of it in the likes of "Ready To Go", but it lacks the intensity. Now they're your average indie band. Which is a bit shit, but whatever. It's a 'solid' album, not a patch on the first one though. The opening track "Promises" is hands down the best track. Amazing verse.

I'm currently giving the first "Radical Face" album a whirl, back when Ben Cooper was going under the name "Radical Face Versus Phalex Sledgehammer"...I honestly didn't think you could get a shitter name than "Radical Face". Boy was I wrong. It's amazing stuff. Production isn't as sharp. His vocals are so cute/sweet sounding on this record...weird thing to say about a guy...but they are...he just has one of those voices...in the 4 years since this was put out it's 'matured', but here it's just so...'nice'. The opening tracl, "Stitches In My Side" is amazing. It doesn't have the 'style' of "Ghost", which was haunting and beautiful. It's probably more poppier like his Electric President stuff, but I like it.

Again...'old' news...but just something I found out about. It's official, Reggie & The Full Effect is completely DONE!! Late last year he said he'd finished, but then said he had 2 albums worth of material, but now it basically looks like he's done. However, Dewees will now apparently be a fulltime member of My Chemical Romance.

I think NME coined it. which shows just how meaningful it is. They probably thought it was appropriate because they have a song called Mathletics.

Battles were being called math-rock as well.

"indie rock playlist (month) (year)" (current one is march 2008..duh)

has around 100 songs on it of whatever indie songs are playing on radio for that month. great way to find new shit. and since its torrent you can easily uncheck the songs you already have.
