Depressingly few :(

Machine Head (God Forbid, Caliban)

Dragonforce (Edguy, Sabatton)

Bloodstock 2007

- Kiuas, Firewind, Testament

- Voodoo Six, Epica, Wolf, Memfis, Korpiklaani, Nevermore, Lacuna Coil,

- Freedom Call, Nephwrack, Speed Theory, Sinnergod, Dream Evil, Finntroll, Sabbat

Korpiklaani (Keltic Jihad)

Kamelot (Firewind, Forever Slave)

It's funny that, with the exception of Korpiklaani, all the support bands have been way better than the headliners (reffering to Caliban in the first instance, definately not God Awful). Hell, I didn't even bother watching Sunday's headliner at Bloodstock (Arch Enemy followed by InFlames? Ick. Time was much better spent in the beer tent rocking up the kareoke with a drunk Scot :P).

Yeah I've been to like a handful of gigs, support in brackets if I remember them.

The Darkness x2 (Do Me Bad Things, Ash, The Ark, Juliette and The Licks)

Blink 182 (Sugarcult, The Kinison)

Guns N' Roses (Bullet For My Valentine, Sebastian Bach)

Ian Brown (no idea <_<)

ApSham, I have to ask you. Did Matt Good act like a pretentious ass at your show? Every one I've been to he's delayed the start by at least two hours.

I saw him on his last acoustic tour, around fall of 2007. He really liked the venue and while he started out a little bit late, he was generally really good. He was drinking a shit load of wine, which only seemed to make the show better... because he ended up doing drunk rants and telling stories about how they stole shoes and Commodore 64s from the big stores back in Vancouver during his day. He also lost his set list and played whatever came to mind, which turned out better than his actual lists that I saw from other shows. All in all, it was the best show I've ever been to and could really hope to.

Oh god. Watch the evolution of my taste in music from bad to less bad as I attempt to figure this out chronologically and then degenerate into complete rambling. WARNING: Featuring bands you've never heard of!

Chuck Mangione (yes, really. I was like eleven), Tantric (? I think that was their name. They had one hit and it sucked), Lifehouse, 3 Doors Down, Gorillaz, Vendetta Red (like four times), Botox Aftermath, fuck I can't remember I think it was the Black Eyed Peas or some shit, Cold, Evanescence, Weird Al Yankovic, the Left Hand of Fate (like three times), Audio Learning Center aka The Worst Band Ever Jesus Christ, Rasputina (twice), The Orphan Project, United State of Electronica, Death Cab for Cutie, The Presidents of the United States of America (twice), The Marley Brothers, Built to Spill, The Pixies, The Caesars, Hot Hot Heat, Social Distortion, Interpol, Queens of the Stone Age, Visqueen, DeVotchKa, Harvey Danger, Digable Planets, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Billy Preston, Elvis Costello, The Stereo Future (twice), The Pillows (twice), The Video Game Pianist, Optimus Rhyme, Mon Frere, Blue Scholars, Kanye West, The Trucks, No-Fi Soul Rebellion, The Cops, The Saturday Knights, Common Market, The Apples in Stereo, Art Brut, Schoolyard Heroes, Lupe Fiasco, noodles

I know there are a lot more, but basically those are the ones that I can actually coherently remember.

If I had to rate my five favorite live acts I've ever seen, it'd go something like...

1. The Pillows

2. Rasputina

3. Art Brut

4. Weird Al Yankovic (though if you went by sheer stage effects and presentation value, he'd be #1. I'm not even a big fan or anything but he goes all out)

5. Digable Planets

With honorable mentions to the Presidents and Left Hand of Fate, who were the most awesome band I've ever seen that nobody who didn't go to one of their shows will ever know of.

Tenacious D

Red Hot Chili Peppers

Chris Cornell

Linkin Park

Muse

Arcade Fire

Bjork

Rage Against the Machine

Foo Fighters in May

Unfortunately, living in NZ, it's not often that I get a chance to see the big acts. The Smashing Pumpkins were just down here with QOTSA and I didn't go due to lack of cash and people to go with. I'm sure the Queens will be here again, so I'm not too torn up about that, however I can't help feeling like I might have missed my only chance to see Billy Corgan :(

I'll go ahead and avoid the scores of local shows I've seen as others have been doing.

Lynrd Skynrd, ZZ Top, Elvis Costello, CCR, Primus, Blue Cheer, Charged GBH, Anti Nowhere League, Flatfoot 56, River City Rebels, The Queers, Primus, and a bunch of bullshit at Ozzfest last summer.

In the past ten years I've been to more than a dozen festivals and at least a hundred club gigs. I don't know if it's feasible to list all the bands I've seen. Actually, I doubt I could even remember half of them, but it's mostly hard rock and heavy metal.
