In hockey. Really. At first I thought it was a football score.

The worst part? They shot 139 times to 0. That's just unfathomable!

Found some more info. In the 4 games they played (Slovakia, Italy, Croatia and Latvia) Bulgaria got 192 countergoals and only scored once (30 - 1 against Croatia). Best players of Slovakia were one Culikova (10 goals, 7 assists) and Herichova (8 goals, 10 assists).

They probably just wanted to make sure the Bulgarians didn't surprise them with a sudden flurry of goals.

I don't see the Bulgarians, as outplayed as they were, to just tell the officials to stop the game because they weren't gonna catch up to their opponents.

Why not run up the score? Honestly, complaining about the outrageous score is like telling the team not to shoot when they have the chance. What are they suppose to do, so stop give them the puck back instead of taking the shot? You play the fullest until the final whistle.

Goal differential is indeed a tiebreaker and can often determine between making it as seed 2 and dropping out as seed 3 (since the fouth seed at the lower levels is almost always utterly pathetic).

To give the other team credit at least they kept their composure and didn't just resort to smacking the other team about. It must have been soul crushing to go out like that.
