Yeah.

I went through a huge period of not listening to music on my laptop/PC, or at least not having Last.fm, so to top my lists doesn't take a hell of a lot, really.

Artists

1. The Gaslight Anthem (81, for reference)

2. Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly

3. The Presidents Of The USA

4. Crowded House

5. Pearl Jam

6. Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip

7. Coheed and Cambria

8= Bloc Party

8= The Smiths

10. Los Mendozas (10)

Nothing overly surprising for me, as this is all stuff I either got into this year (DLS vs SP, Gaslight), or got back into (Pearl Jam, The Smiths) or just attempted to get into more (Bloc Party), but as can be seen by the totals, it doesn't really say a lot. Los Mendozas ten songs work out as about 15 minutes worth of total play >_>

Songs

1= Frankmusik – 3 Little Words (10)

1= The Gaslight Anthem – Great Expectations

3 MiMi Soya – Don't Stand on Ceremony

4 The Gaslight Anthem – The '59 Sound

5= Bloc Party – Hunting For Witches

5= The Gaslight Anthem – Film Noir

7= Heathers – Fire Ants

7= The Gaslight Anthem – High Lonesom

7= Bloc Party – Banquet

10= The Gaslight Anthem – I Coul'da Been a Contender (5)

10= Iced Earth – Melancholy (Holy Martyr)

10= The Presidents of the United States of America – Peaches

10= The Gaslight Anthem – Miles Davis & The Cool

10= The Gaslight Anthem – Boomboxes And Dictionaries full track

10= Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly – Young And Lovestruck

10= Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly – Postcards From Catalunya

10= Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly – Waiting For The Monster To Drown

10= The Gaslight Anthem – Wooderson

Not surprising really, as it constitutes songs from Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly's new album, The Gaslight Anthem's new album, and random songs that I've enjoyed, including 3 catchy numbers from one of YI's gaylist....so damn you, YI!

Albums

1 The Gaslight Anthem – Sink Or Swim (25)

2 The Presidents of the United States of America – The Presidents of the United States of America

3 Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly – Searching For The Hows And Whys

4 Crowded House – Recurring Dream

5 The Smiths – Singles

6 Torche – Meanderthal

7 Zyklon – Disintegrate

8 Primordial – To The Nameless Dead

9= Neutral Milk Hotel – In the Aeroplane Over the Sea (8)

9= Bloc Party – A Weekend In the City

9= Death Cab for Cutie – Plans

9= Katatonia – Tonight's Decision

9= Guster – Lost and Gone Forever

This probably shows my taste a little more, what with Torche, Primordial, Zyklon and Katatonia showing up. But otherwise, thats about it really, a lot of the same kinda stuff. PoUSA get a good showing, mostly because I went and saw them live. Guster and Katatonia make this list primarily off of one or two songs, also.

Artists:

1. Jay-Z (786)- I went on a huge Jay-Z kick this year for some reason. Part of it was American Gangster being released at the end of 2007, and also because I saw him in concert in October, which as you'll notice boosts my play count.

2. Kanye West (709)- Saw him in concert in May so that has something to do with the high play count. Also 808's was released this year.

3. Lupe Fiasco (689)- Saw him in concert twice this year and The Cool was released at the end of 2007.

4. Girl Talk (576)- Feed The Animals came out this year, and I saw him in concert 3 times <_<

5. Wale (573)- Just discovered him this past year and have become a huge fan.

6. Lil Wayne (548)- The Carter 3 was obviously released this year and that really opened my eyes to Lil Wayne.

7. Clipse (480)- This is kind of just a random kick that I had earlier this year. A few of my friends discovered how good they were and it basically rubbed off on me.

8. Weezer (376)- The Red Album was released this year, but I doubt that was the main reason why their play count is so high.

9. T.I. (359)- Paper Trail was released this year and is pretty much the main reason why he had so many plays.

10. Goldfinger (334)- Saw them in concert this year and realized how fucking awesome they were.

I don't get to listen to music as much as I'd like to, but anyway, here we go...

TOP ARTISTS:

10: Garbage (Bought their greatest hits album, just listened to it a lot when it came out.)

9: Linkin Park (I have a crapload of their songs on my computer, so I listen to them a lot when I put my player on random)

8: Thrice (They're four disc set came out this year, listened to it a good bit)

7: Apocalyptica (Actually only listened to the two or three tracks with singers, so this is kinda impressive)

6: Avenged Sevenfold (I was on an Avenged Sevenfold kick earlier in the year, not to much now...)

5: Chevelle (After I was slightly disappointed with their previous album, their newest one was awesome, still listened a lot.)

4: Atreyu (I like them since I've started to be able to understand them, heh heh.)

3: 12 Stones (12 Stones is one of my all time favorite bands, so yeah.)

2: Red (Red is officially my favorite band of the year, they put on a kickass live show, and are just awesome. Their plays would be a LOT higher if they had more than one album in the past 3 years, and I can't wait until February 10th.)

1: Authority Zero (I heard that the lead singer quietly released a solo album, which resulted in me finding out they released an album last year that I didn't know about. Started listening to them like CRAZY again).

TOP SONGS:

10: (TIE)

Cinder Road "Should've Known Better" (Meh, they're local)

Scary Kids Scaring Kids "Faces" (Started to love SKSK this year, they're awesome.)

9: Avenged Sevenfold "Afterlife" (Ugh, Avenged Sevenfold kick)

7: (TIE)

Lifer "No Need" (This song is kinda old, but it's possibly one of my favorite songs ever)

Apocalyptica "I'm Not Jesus" (Corey Taylor can do no wrong...)

5: (TIE)

Five Finger Death Punch "Never Enough" (My roommate is obsessed, so I listened to them a good bit)

There For Tomorrow "Pages" (Friend introduced me to them through their myspace, love this song)

3: (TIE)

Atreyu "Falling Down" (Read their band info...)

Chevelle "The Fad" (Read band info, again...)

2: Dropping Daylight "Apologies" (Almost saw them live in '07, bought their album, just listened to this song a lot...more than I thought, I guess.)

1: Red "Already Over" (No surprise here, for me, I love Red and everything about them...)

TOP ALBUMS:

10: Skillet "Comatose" (Man, I must have been on a Christian Rock kick last year, and I'm not even Christian)

9: Garbage "Absolute Garbage" (Yeah, Greatest Hits!!!)

8: Scary Kids Scaring Kids "Scary Kids Scaring Kids"

7: Lifer "Lifer" (Yeah, that's mostly due to "No Need")

6: Apocalyptica "World's Collide"

5: Operator "Soulcrusher"

4: Nirvana "Nirvana" (Again, probably a Greatest Hits reasoning right here...)

3: Linkin Park "Minutes to Midnight"

2: Avenged Sevenfold "Avenged Sevenfold"

1: Red "End of Silence"

Yeah, he was one of the first to get into the trend of "punk guys releasing acoustic albums" about 3/4 year ago I think. It's basically totally forgot about though, quite like the one from the singer of Millencolin, to be fair, it wasn't that good.

But "12:34" was a fucking AMAZING album. Authority Zero are the only band I can think of that's actually improved by shedding the majority of their ska/reggae stuff and focussing on a more punk-rock sound, I mean the odd tune like "Sirens" is great to shake things up, but as a whole "12:34" was their best release due to it being just straight up punk with a melodic-hardcore edge.
