Covers That Would Be Awesome

I was just thinking of this earlier while having a nostalgia-trip back to Eurovision 2008...

How fucking awesome would an Alestorm cover of Wolves of the Sea (the Latvian entry) be?! I can just see Chris now, snarling out the lyrics "With a hi hi ho and a hi hi hey/We’re hoisting the flag to be free/We will steal the show, Jolly Rogers go/We are wolves of the sea". It would be awesometastic.

So what other songs do you listen to and think "it'd be awesome if Band X covered this". Either seriously, or semi-lightheartedly like the above (while it WOULD be awesome, it wouldn't be #1 in anyone's chart ¬_¬).

Between the Buried and Me - "Africa" (Toto)

Soundgarden - "Paranoid"/"Iron Man" (Black Sabbath)

Shinedown - "Jeremy"/"Yellow Ledbetter" (Pearl Jam) - As Yellow Ledbetter has no lyrics and is mroe about the vocals, it's something Brent Smith could excel at.

Metallica - "Run To You" (Bryan Adams) - Load/Reload-era Metallica. It'd be iteresting to say the least.

I always wanted to see a Metallica cover of "Rape Me" by Nirvana.

I'm sure there's a Nirvana cover by Metallica floating about somewhere, and I have a funny feeling it might be Rape Me, but its late and I may be imagining this shit. :shifty:

On the subject of Metallica I'd like to see Children of Bodom (or someone like that) cover For Whom The Bell Tolls. I'd like to see more Heavy metal covers of classic songs mainly, though, although I can't think of any specifics off the top of my head.

Metallica kinda cover Nirvana in a medly of tracks at some MTV awards.

All this makes me realise is that every cover of "Seven Nation Army" I've heard (which is basically Metallica and Audioslave) is better than the White Stripes' original <_< .

Oh, and "Beat It" sounds AWESOME.

Again Metallica, And I don't know why but for some reason I think a Metallica cover of Soundgarden's Black Hole Sun would be pretty kickass.

Save the time it would take to track down the Hard-Fi version or your streak will be ruined. Kate Nash though...go for it.

I found a torrent of cover songs when looking for one in particular. Being over 2GBs worth, I skimmed over it see if there were any other decent ones when I came across an Eddie Vedder cover of "I Believe in Miracles". Imagine my disappointment when I played it to find it was a Ramones cover, not a cover of "You Sexy Thing" by Hot Chocolate as I first thought it was.

Vedder, cover that.

Alice Cooper covering Crazy Babies (Ozzy)

Korn covering Rock of Ages (Def Leppard)

Nickelback covering Baba O'Reilly (The Who)
