G.I. Joe might be "biggest bomb in many a moon"

I watched about half of the new Transformers and really have no desire to see the other half. Nothing good about it thus far as its all "BOOM! BOOM! ROBOTS!" and nothing else. The only good thing is that Megan Fox actually looks better in this film than the first, but still only in a "fuck her then leave her" sort of way. I agree with that blog you posted, Zero: She has the looks and acting ability of a pornstar.

That's what Michael Bay movies are. Big explosions and not a whole lot of story.

Well in all fairness, the first movie sucked, but judging by what I've read about the sequel, it makes the original look like Casablanca.

But why would you go into a Michael Bay movie expecting something different than big explosions? That's what all Michael Bay movies have been and nothing else. I don't get how he wasn't expecting the movie to be just that.

Then what does that make Armageddon? That movie had a story and not so many explosions aside from the opening asteroid scene.

It makes it just like Bay's other films. It's a nimrod's story (no pun intended) that has followed all of Bay's work.

Well one reason would be that I know nothing about movies other than what theyre plots may be and whether I like it or not. I dont know what one person doing movies is like or what their 'calling card' is or anything. In short I didnt know that Michael Bay is known for big explosions in movies.

Secondly would be that I had no expectations for this movie. I wasnt expecting a movie with nothing more than firecrackers as explosions, nor was I expecting an A bomb being dropped down as an explosion.

It also had stock characters mainly. However I will say that it had a heart.

And should this be renamed "The Michael Bay And His Transformers Films Suck"? Although I am going to go see Transformers 2 this weekend, but then I didn't hate the first one, just got confused a few times since a lot of The Decepticons looked alike.

And wasn't GI Joe originally supposed to be released in June or July as opposed to it's late August release date now?

I swear you're right, I want to say I saw trailers advertising it as out in mid-July but I could be crazy.

Yeah it definitely was, as there were a bunch of TV spots for it in like late May and since then I haven't heard anything mentioned about it since then, which is not exactly standard procedure for an August release.

Truer words have never been said so elequoently (But I thought the first film was actually good for a beginning)

As for G.I. Joe I don't see how it can be any worse then Transformers 2.....I mean the previews already show an improvment on acting. Still won't see it though, just not interested.

And talking about it's release date, it's had the August 7th date for awhile now. I remember looking at release dates back in January/February and it was setup for August.

And then I looked it up and here's the Super Bowl spot for it (the first trailer or any kind for it) and it says the release date is for August 7th as well. I'm guessing they were just trying to get it in the mind of everybody or something a fair bit ahead of the release date.

I rewatched Transformers and then went and saw Transformers 2 yesterday. Neither is great, but neither is beyond belief bad or the worst movie ever. That is Date Movie.
