Okay. Actually Beyonce's video is kinda artistically good and hypnotic (although the track itself is annoying).

But Kanye is wrong. This is not the best music video of this decade.

But...which video is?

Among others I prefer....

"Glosoli" by Sigur Ros

"Untitled (Vaka)" by Sigur Ros

"What Else Is There" by Royksopp

....and plenty of others.

Any really good videos recently that people really rate?

"1234" by Feist is awesome one-take choreography. I vote it for being more cool to look at than Beyonce's deal.

"Single Ladies" is really well-crafted pop music, honestly. I either love it or it drives me nuts depending on my state of mind at the time, but it does exactly what pop's supposed to do. And the video for it is indeed pretty good, if not Best of the Decade. Still probably best of the last year out of what was nominated (even though... I don't know what else was nominated, uh).

I'm still very partial to Franz Ferdinand's video for "Take Me Out." Something about the animation style and the Franz vs. Anti-Franz boxing poster has made it stick with me even five years after the fact.

Those are all good. Particularly Friend Of The Night and Glosoli. I especially love the Glosoli video lots.

I'm finding it quite difficult to think of what I like. emm...I like:

- good fun

- nothing much happens but I still like it

dunno really...I never really watch music videos.

Foo Fighters' "Pretender" was pretty good, if only for the "wall of red jelly exploding" thing.

I don't understand all the hubbub about the Beyonce video. It's her dancing in a black and white video with a black leotard type thing on, with two girls behind her mimicking her moves. Not only that, but she does the same dance at least 3 times throughout the video. That is considered a top video? What happened to those that had those crazy effects that kept you interested in the video?

I can't think of anymore right now, but those two I just remember watching over and over again because they were so awesome. Hell, I was more entertained by P!nk's video for "So What" than I was by Beyonce's.

Cochise is perfect. It fits the mood of the song, the metaphor is spot on, it just works so well. And as little a fan of Oasis that I am, the "...Idle" video is quality as well.

I can't really think of any at the moment (I was going to putforward Afrika Shox, but that was apparently 1999), I remember Linkin Park's Breaking the Habit being pretty nifty though, and the one they had for the Points of Authroity remix was really cool too. Of course, I naturally nominate every video Reuben made also >_>

but it came out in 1999 so doesn't count.

In my opinion, the four best videos on this decade. D.A.N.C.E because of how it totally compliments the song, Where's Your Head At? because it's a complete mind fuck, Cry Me A River because it's a music video with a story that's actually compelling and Fell In Love because... well... it doesn't need justification its just amazing.
