Tatanka and Darkfeather w/Hania vs Hollis and Day

Opening up this week we have Tatanka making his presence known. On commentary Mattman Harris points out that Tatnaka has said on Social Media that he is in the city until Starrcade is over in hopes of getting the canceled match with the Premiere rescheduled there. The match is a short affair with little offence from Hollis and Day with tatanka picking up the pinfall after a “End of The Trail” Samoan Drop.

How to stop a Dragon

Next we go to a prerecorded segment with Richie Steamboat and Magnum TA. It seems they have some things to say about what happened with The Souths at Conflict City.First Magnum addresses what happened to his stepdaughter and puts all the blame on The Souths for blinding Richie but also points out that Tessa is fine, she’s tough, she’s not like a South. That leads into them explaining to everyone what George South Senior did. Magnum pulls out a small blue tub and explains that it is Menthol chest rub, the exact same thing GSS rubbed into Richie’s eyes. They’re not finished yet though and replay the finish of the match.

“Richie decides this is it and hooks up for a suplex before he hefts South to the top rope. Richie climbs up and again throws the arm over. Before he can deliver this massive suplex through GSS is back in the fray climbing up there from the outside, holding ont both his boy and Steamboat. Richie kicks at him and kicks at him, soon freeing himself from GSS’s grip and next kicking the clinging man off of his son. Senior falls to the floor and Richie begins powering South over but as they’re going it looks like South punches Richie in the gut and that causes South to crash land onto in this situation when they hit the mat! The official goes down for the count and Richie begins kicking his legs but in a moment GSS has reached up from the floor and has grabbed them, holding Steamboat’s legs down by the ankles! The hands come down and Richie fights but he is unable to kickout and the count is made! Richie Steamboat has lost! “

The video is played from a different angle next with Magnum explaining to watch South’s hands. It would appear the elder South slipped his son some brass knuckles! GSJ had these on his hand when he punched Richie in the gut! Back with Magnum and Richie a challenge is laid out by Steamboat. He wants tag-team match for the title at Starrcade. He quickly notes that since GSJ isn’t under contract that Flair can’t make him compete at Starrcade and given how he had to put up 6 Thousand Dollars of his own to get them to agree to the last match, he knows that he’s going to have to sweeten this deal. Richie will double the money this time, 12 Thousand Dollars! Where will Richie get this money? Well he says he’s going to take a page out of GSJ’s book because his partner will put up the cash for him.Richie steps to the side and the legendary Ricky Steamboat steps into the scene carrying a briefcase. The elder Steamboat opens up the case showing off the money and cuts his own promo reasserting the challenge for Starrcade for a Father and Son tag-team battle!

Unnecessary Roughness

We next go over to a local gym where Mia Svensson, Tessa Blanchard and Jordynne Grace are training together. Mia instructs Tessa to put a headlock on Grace and for Grace to get out of it without lifting Tessa up. Grace struggles and begins to lift but Mia warns her to stop it. After some more struggling Mia says enough and steps in, pushing Grace away and wrapping Tessa’s arm around her(Mia) own head. Tessa locks on the hold and Mia quickly escapes by rolling down to the side and throwing Tessa off. She does this again before instructingGrace to do it. Jordynne gets in Tessa’s headlock and does just that. After that Mia tells Grace to do it to her. She puts on the lock and Grace tries to roll her but MIa blocks it and wrenches the hold a bit before releasing it. Jordynne looks annoyed but Mia keeps on giving orders and tells Grace to headlock her. Jordynne does so and quickly gets rolled twice. She applies it a third time at Mia’s urging and this time Grace blocks the roll with a big smile on her face. The smile is gone quickly though when Mia drops out of the hold and pulls Grace’s leg out from under her, sending her down on her face. Grace gets up and yells out “What the hell, you didn’t tell me you were going to do that!” and Mia responds that Grace didn’t tell her anything about a towel at Conflict City but she sure threw one in. There’s some sniping from Mia about needing to practice Figure-4 counters when Grace claims Mia wasn’t getting out of Charlotte’s Figure-4. Mia turns to leave the ring and tells Grace and tessa to go home and Grace tries to stop her but eats a Euro Uppercut for it, knocking her to her butt. Mia leaves as Grace rubs her jaw.

The Briscoes want plunder

We next go over to a video with The Briscoes. The brothers enter the scene, a barn full of scrap and junk with Mark carrying an old, destroyed ladder and hucking it into a pile while Jay limps infront of the camera and spits on the ground. Jay says that obviously the issues with them and The Dudleyz are not over while his brother starts sorting through the scrap..

“We one to one boys. You got one. We got one. We came to settle the score but apparently we need to sign some contracts and make it official or else they’ll pull us apart.”

Jay continues and takes a minute to address the Tag-Team Champions promising that their time will be soon but first they got to end this thing with the Dudley’s at Starrcade.

“Starrcade The show of legends! You know what that means? That means we can’t just have any damn match to end this. We need something big! Something nasty! But what? We already had the normal match. Y’all caught us there. Then we had tables and we got that one.”

Jay rubs his chin and begins yelling at his brother for ideas. Mark thinks then goes wide eye looking at the pile.Mark pulls something from the pile. It’s a rusty old metal collapsible table.

“Tables”!

“Nah Chicken, we already did tables!”

Mark yanks up the ladder he threw into the pile and slams it next to his brother with the table.

“Ladder!”

“Now you talking, Chicken! What else we got in there?”

Mark turns back and rips one more item free and holds it up

“Chair!”

“So what you sayin is we want those damn Dudleys in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match at Starrcade!”

“You damn right we do!””

“You heard the man, boys. At Starrcade we want The Briscoes vs The Dudleys in TLC!”

Truitt Fields vs Kahagas

In the main event we have ‘The Sadistic Soldier” Truitt Fields taking on “The Tokyo Monster” Kahagas. Despite being the smaller man it’s Truitt that plays the power game and throws the monster around and hits the harder strikes. Kahagas manages to fight off the Killing Fields three times. That is until Truitt takes him up for a backdrop and shifts into a super version of The Killing Fields. A three count follows and commentary notes that you can see more of him on the upcoming episode of Takedown

Takedown

Cedric Alexander vs Ron Killings

We open this edition of Takedown with a match. A competitive encounter between one of the top contenders for the NWA World title and one of QCW’s brightest standouts. Cedric takes it to the more experienced star with everything he has but Killings is no slouch and keeps up with the younger man proving why he is still in contention for top championships. The match is hitting a highpoint when Cedric is measuring Killings for a dive to the outside but the dive never comes because The Revival and Silas Young storm in from the crowd and start laying down a beating. Matt Hardy isn’t here tonight but Caprice Coleman is! He runs in to help his partner going right as Silas but The Revival quickly help take him down too. Things are looking bad till Killings enters the ring and helps Coleman and Alexander turn the tide before flattening Dash Wilder with an Axe Kick. Dawson and Young pull their limp ally from the ring and retreat in defeat.

Truitt Fields interview

Up next we have the sitdown interview with Truitt Fields. Truitt makes his way out to the desk dressed in a grey USMC shirt and camo pants as opposed to the more formal wear that normal gets brought on for these things. It’s mentioned that a lot of things have happened since Truitt’s first Takedown interview, a fact the deadly serious Truitt agrees with. He’s asked about the manipulation by James Storm and he swears it was the biggest mistake Storm ever made. He manipulated all aspects of of Truitt’s life. He made a mistake giving too much. He didn’t just pull him out of the street and feed him, he gave Truitt a home and everything he needed to get his kid back and he won’t let that go. He’s going to make it work and he’s going to end James Storm along the way. It’s at this point AJ Styles emerges onto the stage with a mic. He accuses Truitt of trying to blame everything on James Storm.

“You wanna know about Truitt Fields? Let me tell you about Truitt Fields. Truitt Fields thinks that he can sweep everything he’s done under the rug and move on. Truitt Fields thinks that being a puppet for James Storm makes him not responsible for his own actions. Truitt Fields is a man that’s jumped me twice on this very show and Truitt Fields is a man that attacked my close friend Christopher Daniels in a parking lot! James Storm may be one hell of a bastard  but so is Truitt Fields.”

Truitt gets up in AJ’s face after this and the two begin to argue. Truitt shoulders past AJ to walk away but Styles spins him back around and swings but Truitt ducks! He scoops AJ up in a backdrop and slams him across the desk with a Super Killing Fields. AJ bounces off the desk to the floor where he gasps for air as Truitt leaves to the back.

Starrcade Mainevent.

After the break we go to a recorded segment from Ric Flair’s home. Standing in his home office Flair tells us that he has decided on the main event of Starrcade.Based on recent events and past matches the Queen City Wrestling Heavyweight Champion James Storm will be challenged by Gunner.

Mickie James Interview

Next up is the second interview of the night, with the returning Mickie James. She clarifies that while shes been working elsewhere fulfilling commitments she’s been keeping a close eye on QCW and has noticed that Charlotte and Mia Svensson keep bringing her up. As such she’s decided to spend more time in the QC and is officially challenging Charlotte to a match at Starrcade for her Women’s Championship.

Up next we have a six man tag-team bout that sees Caleb Konley team up with the Tag-Team Champions Chase Stevens and Adam Page to take on Gable, Kassa and Ethan Case. Funnily it’s the fan-favorites with a bit of an entourage at ringside as Taeler Hendrix and Rick Steiner are in their corner. The match is a little messy with Hendrix accidentally getting in the way of or distracting Steiner’s boys and her own man a couple times but things really blow up when Konley gets on the aporn for an illegal springboard attack. In an attempt to make up for Hendrix’s blunders Steiner actually grabs at Caleb’s ankles. Hendrix actually stops this however pushing Steiner. The Dog Faced Gremlin berates her for this to the point that her boyfriend Ethan Case steps off the apron and gets between them as everyone else watches the scene. Steiner shoves Case and Case goes to retaliate but when he rears back he accidentally hits Hendrix and knocks her over.Case quickly realizes this but before he can do anything Konley kicks him in the head from the apron, hops down and pops Steiner one, putting them both down. It’s at this point that Brad Maddox leaves the desk and joins the mess, bowing up to Konley over Steiner and again getting on Hendrix’s case. As Konley jaw jacks outside the ring with Maddox the match goes on with Adam Page and Chad Gable as the legal men. Page sets up for a Tombstone but Gable somehow turns it into an anklelock! Stevens breaks it up before getting bullrushed by Kaasa who tumbles to the floor with him. Page gets onto the apron and takes aim, slingshot flipping into the ring for his lariat but Gable ducks down and flips him over with a Northern Lights suplex that gets a shock three count! Page and Stevens are in shock while Gable and Kassa celebrate on the floor briefly before making their way over to the mess. Konley grabs Hendrix by the wrist and hops over Steiner, past Maddox  and away from the winners with his hand up showing he’s not wanting a fight. Maddox, Gable and Kassa help Steiner up and Case rises on his own, stumbling and grabbing Hendrix’s other arm and pulling her his way away from Konley.

The Souths Answer

Back from break we’re shown a remote location where Magnum Champion George South Jr is joined by his father George South Sr. The two deny up and down Magnum TA’s claim that they did anything with menthol and call it a crazy old man’s conspiracy theory  excuse for Steamboat’s failing, completely ignoring the footage of the brass knuckles and GSS holding down Richie’s legs. They then mock Richie for needing to go get “his daddy” like a child. They go on to accep the challenge saying that if Ricky is dumb enough to get involved in his kid’s mess now then they’ll gladly take his money too.

Rosita interview

Back in at WCCB TV Studios we’re getting another sitdown interview. This time with Queen CIty Cup Semi-Finalist Rosita ahead of her tournament bout with Amber O’neal. There is a bit of getting to know her questions but the big one of the interview is what the deal with Shaul Gurerrero is.Rosita lays it out in her answer.

“Ok. I was expecting this. Let’s clear this up. I’ve said it before in places all over that my hero is Rey Mysterio. He’s been my inspiration since I was a teenager, before I’d ever seen a wrestling ring in-person. Well everybody knows the link between Rey and The Guerreros, right? Well a couple years back someone I was working with decided I might like to meet someone from that circle, that being Shaul. We became friends immediately. We’re the same age, we’re both Latina and we love wrestling so the connection was there. The thing is Shaul...takes the wrong lessons from her father. The whole “Lie, Cheat, Steal” thing is very real to her. After a little talk with my family I decided I needed to get away from her and I did. I don’t know why she’s suddenly here but I don’t really want anything to do with her right now. I’m on a better path than the one she’s on.”

After that she warns Amber O’Neal that she won’t be held back and that she’s winning the QCC before the show goes to break.

The Dudleyz vs The Bravados

Back from the break the Bravado Brothers are already in the ring being introduced. After we’re welcomed back by Maddox’s commentary the theme music of The Dudleyz kicks in. The legendary tag-team march down to the ring and quickly jump on The Bravados, beating them down. After throwing them from the ring Bubba Ray grabs up the mic from Tessa at ringside. Bubba begins to address the challenge.

“Alright people, we know there’s a match scheduled and yada-yada but we got a problem and we gotta talk to the Chicken Pluckers. Are you two out of your damn minds? Actually let me ask that again. Jay. Jay are YOU out of your mind? We can all see that the Family tree didn’t branch off  far with Mark but you seem just about smart. But here we are, you two got one up on us in our own match and we were going to let it lie but you still decided to stick your damn nose back in our business and pick a fight with us. And now...now you two want a TLC match! D-Von! They want a TLC match with us!”

Exasperated Bubba hands off the mic to D-Von

“You boys don’t seem to realize what you’ve done! That match isn’t a fight! That match is a war! You give your body and soul in that match. You wanna step up? You wanna step up with us? Fine. Just know that you asked for this.

D-Von waits as a video plays.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AG590n1mTzg

Back in the ring Bubba finishes up.

“There’s only one thing left to say. A simple statement for a couple Simpletons. We accept.”

And with those words out Bubba is smacked in the back with a chair by Harlem Bravado. Bubbe just slowly turns around and asks “Are you for real?” before Harlem raises it up going for another but a boot to the gut cuts him off. Buuba grabs up the chair and smacks it across his back, laying him out. Lancelot Bravado comes into help his brother finally but D-Von knocks him down before Bubba gives Lancelot a hard shot too. Up next it’s time…

“D-Von...Get the tables!!”

D-Von does just that, leaving the ring and pulling out a table and bringing it into the ring. It’s there that The Dudleys take Harlem up off the mat and drive him through the table with a 3D. Lancelot tries to crawl off without his helping but The dudleys catch him too and quickly pull a table out on the floor and give him a 3D out there through that one leaving both Bravados in heaps.

QCC Semi-Finals: Velvet Sky vs Jordynne Grace

And in tonight’s mainevent we have the continuation of The Queen City Cup as the young Jordynne Grace is set to faceoff with veteren Velvet Sky. Grace is out first looking nervous and shaken as there’s talk on commentary about her now shaky relationship with Mia Svennson. Once in the ring it’s Velvet’s turn to make her alluring signature entrance. Once the match is on Velvet takes the early lead getting Grace in a headlock and holding on. Grace uses her power to battle back but Velvet manages to wriggle out of a few big moves and dodge a few big hits before hitting her Numba One Stunna! The count comes down and it’s nearly a three count but Grace just gets her shoulder up. In a near panic Velvet quickly  grabs her when she gets up and plants her with a “In Yo’ Facebuster!” She goes into the pin off that other big move of her’s but Grace survives it too. At this point the nice Velvet Sky that’s been in QCW starts to fade and she goes into her old ways, taking shortcuts and verbally abusing Grace. This just seems to fire the young warrior up and she comes back with a Fisherman suplex. Velvet kicks out of the pin and tries to continue on but shortly she’s clattered with a Pounce after Grace pushes her off a Stunna attempt. After that a pair of huge sitout powerbombs decisively puts Velvet Sky away and sees Grace moving on to the finals of the Queen City Cup at Starrcade!

Youtube after the show

This upload is from shortly after Takedown went off the air. Rosita is seen in more casual clothes rather than the dress she wore to her interview and is pulling a suitcase behind her as she moves. She comes through a doorway out in the parking lot and stops short of her ride. The camera spins to show us Shaul Guerrero sitting on the hood of her car. Shew quote’s Rosita’s “better path” line and says that’s it’s real funny and plays it off as a joke but Rosita tells her it ‘s not. Shaul seems to get offended and asks if Rosita really thinks shes better than her or something. Rosita says that she will be when she wins the QCC earning a laugh from Shaul. Shaul points out that she’s up against Amber O’Neal next and there’s no way she’s getting past  her with JLN and Jeremy Vain plus from the few times she’s been sat in the crowd she’s seen that Rosita isn’t doing so hot. Shaul says that she can help but Rosita rejects her again and pushes past her to the car. As the car pulls away Shaul says loud but not yelling that we’ll see how Rosita feels after her match.

Ignition

Ethan Case vs Caleb Konley

Starting off the show we have another match between two...rivals? Case comes down with his Girlfriend Taeler Hendrix, throwing colorful streamers together as normal. Konley saunters out alone all by himself and reminds everyone that he is on his show. The match is fast paced and evenly fought with both men getting some big moves and near falls.  Hendrix stays out of the match and in the end a Tornado DDT gets Konley the win. After the bell Caleb grabs Case up by the hair as if he’s going to do something but releases the hold when Hendrix crosses under the ropes and leaves Case on the mat, kicking dirt back at him as a last insult instead.

The Queen of the City

We’re told through a video package that the new QCW Women’s champion Charlotte will be on the next Takedown to call out Mickie James.

Family Feud

Next Mattman Harris on commentary informs us that something terrible happened a couple days ago and we need to see the footage of it. We’re shown Richie and Ricky Steamboat working out in a local gym and doing an interview for the Charlotte Observer. After the interview is over the Steamboats resume working out and it’s at that point the Souths Storm in and attack. Ricky ends up pinned down to the weight bench with a barbell dropped across his chest, making him weeze and keeping him from breathing. Richie gets shown his dad as GSS taunts them both. After they leave Richie quickly crawls to his father and removes the weight before calling for help.  The footage ends as the camera man apparently started to call 911.

Back on commentary Harris shoots us over to a video from The Souths where the “explain” their actions.

The father and son tandem stand outside a... Dollar General? The elder South does the talking while his son stands to the side with The Magnum Title over his shoulder. He apologizes for the attack, but it’s obvious to anyone with eyes that he doesn’t mean it. He says that they jumped the gun a little and went too hard. You see they thought Ricky Steamboat was tough. They thought they could play rough with him.

“Nah Dad, nah he ain’t tough. He ain’t like us. He’s soft”

GSS admonishes his son telling him that wasn’t a nice thing to say. It’s true but not nice. What he says is nice though is the card he pulls from his jacket. It’s apparently a get well card for Ricky that they just bought from the store behind them. South points out that that they signed Richie’s name to it too because they bought it with one of the 6 Thousand Dollars they just won off of him. Speaking of that money South says that they could use some more so if Richie still has that money from his Dad then they’d be happy to take a match with Richie at Starrcade. He can find another partner if he wants but who could he get?

Amber O’Neal and Velvet Sky vs Rosita and Hania

Up next we have a tag-team match with some QCC and possible Starrcade connections. It’s pointed out on commentary that The Premire group have ignored the Starrcade challenge of Tatanka, Briscoe and Hania and this is the first time they've been in the same arena since then. It’s also announce that  the Amber vs Rosita QCC Semi-Final will be taking place on the next Takedown. Velvet comes out first but she does not look to thrilled to be here, forgoing her normal entrance.  Amber is out with her boys at her side, all wearing Tatanka’s and Hania’s headresses with the hot pink custom one Amber had made. Velvet actually seems to get a kick out of the trio and perks up at their antics.  Hania emerges alone  and wait for her partner Rosita to join her. The match sees Hania and Rosita work together well for new partners while Velvet Sky is encouraged to work dirty by Amber, really getting into it. Things go to hell when JLN and Vain get involved tripping Hania and arguing with an ejection. In the Chaos of the bickering and posturing Shaul Guerrero comes from the crowd with a chair and Slides it into Rosita then leans back on the rails. Rosita takes a moment to make a choice but she does grab the chair and with it hauled overhead she manages to send JLN, Vain and O’Neal skittering after whacking JLN with the chair. This leaves the match down to Rosita and Velvet. Rosita decides to toss the chair away to Shaul’s annoyance and heads over to Velvet where she gets caught with a surprise Stunna that lets Velvet score the win! Shaul shakes her head at ringside as The Premire and Velvet party it up on the ramp.

Ron Killings vs Silas Young

And in our main event we have one of the possible challengers for Shelton Benjamin’s NWA title at Starrcade,Ron “The Truth” Killings taking on “The Last real Man In Pro Wrestling” Silas Young. A PiP promo from Young explains that Young asked for this match because he’s taking up for his boys, The Revival after Killings ran the trio off when they jumped on Cedric Alexander.  This is what happens when you don’t walk away from the business between them and Hardy and C&C. Silas takes ever advantage he can get to rough Killings up and punish him but the World Title contender battles back and nearly wins off a Corkscrew Forearm. The Revival distract him from the floor allowing Silas to get a Full-Nelson but when Silas lifts him up for his knee strike Killings rolls through into a pin and gets the win. The Revival storm the ring but Killings is quickly out of Dodge leaving them pissed off in the ring

Bravado Youtube

We open on a scene of  The Bravado Brothers sat on a couch together, Harlem wearing a neckbrace and Lancelot wearing a sling on one arm. Harlem speaks and says that The Dudleyz brutalized them for no reason, really overselling their beating. They want to show up at Takedown for some revenge but at the behest of their Grandma they will wait one week then the Dudleys are going to get it.

Takedown

The Revival vs York and Sorensen

Opening up this show we have what actually turns out to be one of the hottest matches to air on Ignition. The relatively young team of York and Sorensen turn it up looking to prove they can hang in this division while The Revival are looking not to slip after their group’ recent run in with Ron Killings and the Hardy crew. In the highest point of the match York smashes Dash with a Pumphandle Emerald Flowsion that puts him right in place for Jesse’s Lone Star Press. The count is just shy of a three, only broken by Dawson shoving Jesse off the pin. York hit a Liger kick to Dawson and again the two go for that combo attack but Dawson yanks the rope, sending Jesse falling to the floor allowing Dash to slide out of the Flowsion and swing for a clothesline. York ducks but runs right into a Dawson DDT before getting peeled up and put down with a Shatter Machine for the win.

Dragon’s Tale

After the break Richie Steamboat is in the ring with the studio mic. He lets everyone know that his father is ok. He’s sore but he’s moving around and he will be fine. But the thing is that his doctor is now nervous about letting him wrestle again and has revoked his permission so there will be no father-son Steamboat Tag-Team at Starrcade. Steamboat still vows to get his hands on The Souths and he will still face them at Starrcade alone. He says he’s ready for them this time. He also lets everyone know that he will be in AJ Styles’ corner later on tonight in the main event as he faces George South Jr. He goes to leave but stops short as the music of his Father starts up and the WWE HoF’er makes his way out flanked by QCW security Bob Holly and CW Anderson. He praises his son’s bravery before letting him and us in on something. It turns out that all day Ricky has been working to find Richie a partner so that he won’t have to go at it alone and he has done it. He thinks it unwise to reveal the partner but Richie just needs to know he won’t fight alone at Starrcade.

A Starrcade Date

After the break we’re at Brad Maddox’s interview area but unlike normal he’s infront of the desk and he’s not alone. With him are Rick Steiner, Peter Kaasa, Chad Gable, Ethan Case and Taeler Hendrix. Maddox apologises for the break in format but says there’s something that needs to be taken care of. Caleb Konley needs to come out. “In The City” starts up and Konley saunters out, eyeballing the group cautiously while kind of twirling a mic in his hand. His music dies and he speaks

“Well Brad, I don’t know exactly what this is but either you decided to throw together the posse and run me out of town since none of you can do it on your own or you’ve decided to accept my greatness and throw me a party. Either way I’m not that interested. Even together there’s not enough man on this stage to run me off and there’s only one of you over there fit to be in a Caleb Konley party. Come get your beatings or throw up the streamers real quick and get this done.”

Maddox laughs at this and says that Konley is incredible. An incredible ass. He quickly goes over the pushing and prodding that Konley’s done to him over the past year, reminded us of Konley smashing Chad Gable across steel steps and just his general treatment of Case and Hendrix.

“Somebody needs to teach you a lesson Caleb.”

Konley rolls his eyes

“And let me guess, it’s going to be you? At Starrcade? The dork behind the desk putting the bully in his place at the biggest show of the year?”

Konley smirks at this point

“Fine Brad. You want to be that man then go get Flair to draw up the contract. I will remind you that this is my company and this is my city. You are not the one that gets to win.”

“You’re right, Caleb! I’m not the one that gets to win! I tried to be that man. Chad, Peter and Rick got me in the shape of my life and taught me so much more than I ever knew when I was trying to make it in that ring and I still wasn’t good enough to beat you. I accept that. So no Brad, I don’t want you at Starrcade. I have someone else in this building ready to face you. I just want your word that you’ll take this match.

Maddox pulls a contract out of his vest and shoves it into Konley. Caleb takes the contract and unimpressed looks down at it.

“Apparently I gave you too much credit, you coward. One of your friends then, Brad? Like I said, NONE of you are man enough to do it so fine, I’ll sign, give me a pen.

Maddox hands over a pen and Konley lazily signs it before tossing the papers on the desk.

“Ok boys so which one of you is going to be my b***h at Starrcade”

Maddox speaks up at this point.

“Caleb, maybe if you listened a little more instead of insulting me you’d have realized I never said it was someone on this stage. I already said I tried and failed and I’m pretty sure Chad and Peter have business with the tag-team champions. You want to know who you are going to fight at Starrcade?”

Konley unzips his vest, holds out his arms and with swagger yells out for Maddox to bring it on. The party of people part and Maddox looks at the curtains behind the interview area.

Scott Steiner theme

Konley’s eyes go wide as out from behind the curtains steps the one and only Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner. Steiner walks through the parted group right up to Konley who just looks him over as Stiner stares him down from behind his shades. Konley soon begins to back off and slinks backstage. Steiner leans over the desk and signs the papers too making it official. At Starrcade it will be Caleb Konley vs Scott Steiner.

Velvet Sky vs Hania

Up next we have a match from the Women’s division. Recently eliminated from The Queen City Cup Velvet Sky has seemingly made herself comfortable enough in the Queen City to show her true colors as she doesn’t enter alone but with The Premiere, Jeff Lewis Neal, Jeremy Vain and Amber O’Neal. The trio are dressed in their garish colors and patterns wearing their appropriated headdress and pelts while Velvet doesn’t match them wearing black and silver gear, It a much happier mood than her last appearance Velvet pals around with Amber as they make their way down, making a spectacle out of Velvet’s entrance into the ring. Out after them accompanied by Tatanka and Wes Briscoe is Hania The Howling Huntress. There’s lots of commentary about possible and future matches here. Amber is taking on Rosita later in a QCC Semi-Final while Hanai’s group is still pursuing an answer for their challenge to The Premiere. The official quickly makes a choice and ejects everyone at ringside. There’s all sorts of protest but everyone except Amber goes with Amber quickly heading to Maddox and getting in on commentary with him despite not having a headset. THe match is a basic affair with Hania using her speed to show that she’s clearly the more athletic and Velvet using unfair, dirty tactics to keep up. Amber’s distracting screeching from the desk also helps her out. In the end Amber screams for attention and acts as if she’s going to stomp all over Tatanka’s headdress that she’s been wearing earning her the ire of Hania who’s so agitated that she’s up on the second rope, to get a better point to yell at her. This allows Velvet a chance to get up to her feet behind The Huntress. Hania realizes this and jumps back off the rope going for a twist around axe-handle but a kick to the gut catches her then Wam! A Stunna seals the deal for Vel Vel. After the bout Amber enters the ring and the two begin stomping on Hania. This sees Rosita rush the ring but with Hania unable to help there’s still a number game at play and Rosita quickly begins going down too. It looks bad until Jordynne Grace hits the ring and runs Velvet and Amber over with clotheslines. She manages to fight both off sending them running. After the fight Grace taunts Amber as Hania rolls out of the ring and Rosita gets to her feet. Rosita and Grace share glances and look at Amber on the ramp who’s now taunting them both.

Storm The Compound

In the back Lodi stands by with a clearly happy trio of The Revival and Silas Young. They mention that they’re ontop of the world after the win tonight and their in a mood to settle scores. They harken back to when they went to Matt Hardy’s home and were locked out by his gate. They say that since Matt Hardy hasn’t been here with Coleman and Alexander lately then they have no choice but to go back to see him. How’s that going to work out with the gate? Well the group says that they have a plan that will get Matt Hardy rolling out the red carpet for them. We’ll just have to wait to see it.

James Storm lays it all out

After the break the Queen City Wrestling Heavyweight Champion James Storm makes his way out to the ring carrying his title and a bottle of the Outlaw branded Whiskey. He sets a chair up in the ring and takes a seat with the microphone.

“Let me take you all back in time a little bit. All the way back to 2013 before any of this company was even thought of. Back in 2013 I met a man that tried to use me as a stepping stone.  A man that thought old Cowboy James Storm was just around to give him the rub. I met Gunner. He tried to act like he was my friend but I saw through it and we went to war over what he tried to do. I put him in his damn place and moved on. Fast forward to 2015 and I get a call from The Nature Boy himself begging me to come wrestle for him. To come compete for a new title.”

Storm readjusts the belt on his shoulder.

“To be honest with you all things weren't going all that good for me anymore so I saw this as a chance to change things up. To do things differently. To do things for James Storm. I took his offer and I flew to Charlotte and caught a ride to the building. Now guess who I seen on the bracket first thing when I looked. It was Gunner. I looked around and there he was. He caught my eyes and was like a fire lit in him. He had that idea again. That idea that I was going to be his stepping stone. He tore through that damn tournament like a bull to get to me and again I put him in his place. I won this damn title and ain’t nobody taken it from me in 322 days. For those 322 days though Gunner has been riding me. Boy can’t keep my name out of his mouth. Can’t stop coming at me. I’ve given him outs, I’ve done every damn thing I can think of to get him to stop. He’s on me like he’s obsessed.  He thinks it’s his destiny or some Sh*t to put me down and take this time from me. Well hear me now Gunner, The Outlaw ain’t nobody’s damn stepping stone. I wasn’t in 2013, In 2014, In 2015 and damn sure not  2016! Hell takes us to 2036 and I’ll still be better than you! We won’t get that far though cause here we are on the road to the first Starrcade in 16 years. You’ve pushed this to the point where we’re closing out the biggest show of the year one on one. This is where it all ends for you. When I put you down this time there’s no getting back up and calling for revenge, there’s only you going out on your back and going in a damn hole in the ground.

The Champion throws the studio mic down to the mat and hoists his belt up as we go to break.

QCC Sem-Finals:Amber O’Neal vs Rosita

And up next we have an anticipated match up to see who will face Jordynne Grace at Starrcade for the QCC Trophy in the finals. Out first is Amber O’neal and her ever growing group of cronies. Tonight all four are dressed in matching hot pink with Lewis Neal and Vain both wearing matching warpaint and carrying hot pink tomahawks along with their stolen property. Amber instructs the boys to stay at the ramp top while Velvet contines down to ringside with Amber. Out after is Rosita who is stopped momentarily by the presence of the two goofs pump Tomahawks in the air and flexing. She looks disgusted but to their credit they part and let her pass to the ring. The bout sees Amber showing no shame in fighting dirty, standing on Rosita’s hair and pulling her up by the arms, choking her in the ropes and fish hooking her nose. Rosita fights back with speedy strikes, an innovative 619 turned into a hold in the ropes and a big spike Rana that would have got the fall if Velvet Sky hadn’t distracted the official trying to get in the ring. AT that point Shaul Gurerreo comes from the crowd yeet again and slides it in to Rosita, encouraging her to use it while the referee isn’t looking. Rosita picks it up and looks over her shoulder at the recovering Amber but instead drops it, drops to the mat and yells out for the referee while holding the bottom of her face. The ref breaks free from Velvet and Rosita tells him that Shaul tripped her because she wouldn’t use the chair! The official quickly goes to the floor with the shocked Shaul who argues she did nothing. Back in the ring Rosita waves bye to her as the official tries to get her to go back into the crowd. Rosita turns to go at Amber but gets kicked in the guy by Velvet! Stunna! No, Rosita pushes her off and she collides with Amber hard. Rosita quickly tosses Velvet out, Snapmares Amber into a sitting position, hits the ropes behind her, going into the one infront of Amber before smashing her with speeding double knees into a seated pin. The officalcomes back in and makes the three count to give Rosita the win. Just having gone back into the crowd Shaul claps and smiles a bit and nods her head as Rosita celebrates her win and gloats at her from the ring.

The Queen call out

After the break the QUeen City Wrestling Women’s Champion Charlotte makes her way down to the ring, newly regained championship in hand and a smirk on her face. She gets on the mic and she’s heard that a certain someone may want to challenge her for her title at Starrcade so she’s here to call them out. Mickie James. James’ music hits and the multi-time world champion soon joins Charlotte in the ring saying that Charlotte is right on the money. Mickie says that before anyone can question why she should get the match she wants to take us back to the last time they faced off for the title with a video

Charlotte stands on the second rope for a knee drop but Mickie darts up and yanks her off by her leg. On the landing Charlotte bumps her head hard and rolls outside the ring. She begins to act as if something's wrong and the official goes to check on her as he did Mickie earlier. Mickie is not falling for it and is yelling at the referee that she's obviously faking and that she's fine. The official isn't sure but Mickie doesn't give him time to decide who he believes before she goes outside and punches Charlotte in the face sending her to her back. She grabs hair and sends Charlotte back in the ring. Charlotte tries to stand quickly twice and falls over just as quickly. Mickie backs up and rolls her eyes before giving a “I don't know” motion to say she doesn't even know why Charlotte is still trying this ruse. Mickie looks up at Flair and  Gunner in the VIP box and their reactions look legit, giving her pause. She leans back in her corner and watches as a actual doctor comes down and begins to check Charlotte, the entire time she's shaking her head and saying “Nope, not going over there.” but she quickly gets fed up and dashes over. She pulls Charlotte up and sets up for a Mick-DT but mid-taunt she notices Charlotte hanging limp and not fighting back. She stops and reconsiders for a second and in that second Charlotte snaps back to action, trips Mickie up and jackknifes over into a pin that gets her the winning three-count. Mickie immediately kicks after the three but it's too late.

Mickie says that she respects the cunning ploy but the fact remains that CHarlotte had to use a trick, not skill to beat her. Everyone knows it and people have been saying as much since the match. Mickie says that she thinks Charlotte wants this match too so she can try to clear all the doubts. Charlotte starts to answer Mickie’s claim but she’s cut off by the music of the former QCW Women’s Champion Mia Svensson. A pissed off looking MIa quickly comes down and when Mickie tries to address her Mia snatches the mic. Mia says that this isn’t about what anyone wants, it’s about whats been earned. Mia says that she came into QCW as a nobody with no world titles to her name or famous relatives but with hardwork and skill she made people notice her through this past year by beating both the women in the ring with her right now and becoming a champion. Charlotte cuts in and bluntly points out that Mia just lost to her and claims the initial win as a fluke. Mia is quick to get right up in Charlotte’s face and say that she never quit and Charlotte will never make her quit. It’s at that point Charlotte brings up the situation with Jordynne Grace throwing in the towel

“Oh that’s right, you didn’t quit! Your little understudy saw you about to end up in a hospital bed and threw in the towel for you. Great way to thank her, with that Uppercut by the way. What a great teacher you are.”

Mia starts to address this comment but before she can Mickie, with a new mic, cuts in.

“Ladies, it seems like there’s all sorts of issues going on here but the bottom line is this, Starrcade needs a match. Mia, Darlin, I haven't forgotten about you making me tapout and the fights we’ve had. You earned your place in this ring, you’re right about that so I think we should do this: the Champ Charlotte vs Little ol’ me, MIckie James vs The Valkyrie Warrior Mia Svensson in a three-way dance. This way we can just settle all this mess at one time. “

Mia seems pleased with Mickie’s idea but Charlotte less so. Charlotte begins to say no but Mia buts in and asks if she’s scared to do it? Mickie and Mia are ready to go, it’s only Charlotte hesitating.  After a few seconds though she smiles a bit and speaks up.

“Ok. We can do that on one condition. There’s an opening on the show tonight just after the break. I want to see you and Jordynne Grace go at it in this ring. Coe on, a top contender for my title and a Finalist in The Queen City Cup battling it out is a big deal. My Father will sign it in a flash. You do this match and I’ll get my Father to make the Three-Way-Dance.

Mia is a little shocked and looks for an answer but before she has it Jordynne Grace’s music hits and she makes her way down to the ring, eyeing Mia. She enters and gets face to face with Mia before backing into a corner. Mia looks at Charlotte and says the match is on before taking the opposite corner. Charlotte and Mickie exit to the floor as we go to break.

Mia Svensson vs Jordynne Grace

Back from break we join the match with Grace having a headlock on Svensson. Mia tries to roll free but the powerhouse Grace keeps it tight and presses down into the hold when Mia tries tripping her up. Mia gets free via rope break and from there the match is Mia trying to wear down Grace with strikes and holds and Grace battling back and powering around her estranged mentor. Grace gets Mia up in a Toutrure Rack and makes the hold live up to it’s name, trying hard for that submission. Some elbows to the face change that strategy though and Grace spins her off for a bomb but Mia gets her legs around Grace’s head and arm and pulls her into a triangle choke! Mia continues with elbows while she has the hold on but Gace doesn’t give and powers free before smashing down on Mia’s face with a big forearm. Grace pulls Mia up by her wist and pulls her in for a clothesline but Mia ducks and wraps the arm around Grace before spinning her out for the Ripchord European Uppercut but Grace stays on her feet after the hit! She swings for a clothesline again but Mia takes her down by the arm this time and applies her Ragnalock! Grace starts trying to powerout but Mia smashes an elbow down right below her elbow to flatten the arm out so she can reapply the hold. After that Grace quickly taps out to the Fujiwara Armbar.  After the bout there is a short but tense faceoff between the two that ends with Mia reaching out and pulling Grace so that they’re forehead to forehead. They share some unheard words before this turns into a hug between the two. Grace holds up Mia’s arm as Charlotte unethusedly claps and Mickie looks excited at the result.

AJ Styles Promo

Before we go to break we go to a side interview area where AJ STyles and Richie Steamboat standby with Lodi at the mic. AJ addresses the fight between him and Truitt Fields on the last Takedown by challenging him to a match at Starrcade.

“You finally want to be a man and handle business face to face? Fine, then I say meet me face to face in that ring at Starrcade and get your ass kicked. “

He also promises to run through George South Jr next.

AJ Styles vs George South Jr.

After the break we come back to see AJ Styles making his entrance with Richie Steamboat at his side. The Dragonborn looks quite pleased with what he thinks is about to happen in this match. “Bad Company” kicks in and next out is the QCW Magnum Champion himself, George South Jr. strides out, his newly “won” red title belt around his waist. Oddly his father George South Sr is nowhere to be seen. South taunts Steamboat with the title once in the ring but Steamboat’s displeasure doesn’t last as the match starts because Styles immediately begins to outwrestle the bigger man. GSJ swings for the fences but AJ ducks and dodges the blows before hitting his own multi-strike combination to floor him. AJ completely outclasses GSJ in this match, hardly ever losing control. The bout is however cut short when Truitt Fields emerges from the back and begins yelling at AJ about the challenge for Starrcade. Apparently he accepts! Truitt rolls into the ring and gets face to face with Styles and it’s about to explode. Richie gets in and tries to pry them apart but gets shoved off by Fields and AJ Strikes starting the fight. The two tangle and go to the ground trading who is on top throwing punches.. The chaos ramps up when George South Sr can be heard yelling over the PA to cut it out.As soon as everyone’s attention is caught he along with two masked men in George South wrestling School T-Shirts come out on the stage dragging Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat between them limp. South carries a chair with him and begins yelling orders. Richie just about exits the ring but a chair to his Dad’s throat and a warning from South stops him. South yells out to everyone that they need to listen to him  or Steamboat is going to get it. Aj slowly gets off of Tritt and stands up leaving Truitt to roll over onto his knees. South orders Styles and Truitt to get out of the ring. Styles looks from Steamboat to Steamboat and starts to protest, saying that South is crazy if he thinks he’s gonna leave but he’s cut off when Truitt quickly pounces up and slams him down with a Killing Fields. Truitt rolls from the ring and gives a look like he might want to go do something about the situation briefly before going over the rails and leaving. AJ rolls to the floor leaving only Richie in the ring. The Two masked men enter the ring first with South Jr rolling back in after them, surrounding Richie.  South sr demands a mic and gets one.

“We’re going to make this real simple little boy. We South’s don’t like surprises. Your Father here said he had you a tag-team partner for Starrcade. That’s fine but I think it’s real unfair that we don’t get to know who exactly it is. Now he wouldn’t tell me who it is and I’m pretty sure he can’t right now even if he wanted to so I want you to tell me. You don’t tell me and some real bad things are about to happen.”

South presses the chair to Steamboat’s throat as Richie yells out that he doesn’t know. South looks like he’s about to move when the lights shut off. It’s complete darkness for moments before the lights come back. When they do the chair and Ricky Steamboat are gone! But that’s not all. Back in the ring Richie looks down to find a black baseball bat in his hands. He immediately starts swinging, connecting with the masked men and just barely missing GSJ who bails out. Steamboat is out real quick and takes a swing at the elder South who too skitters away into the crowd like his cowardly son. The two reconvene at the top of the stage as Richie returns to the ring and gives the masked men some more shots. He points the bat at the terrified South’s as the show closes.

Ignition June 21st

Jay Rios vs Chris Hamrick

Opening up the show we have “Oráculo” Jay Rios along with his valet Catrina making his grand entrance to take on the veteren Chris Hammrick. The bout is short and sweet with Hammrick only getting minor offence in. Rios shines here and finishes the match with his spectacular corner handstand DDT. After this Catrina replaces Rios’ blindfold and wraps herself around him from behind with a mic over his shoulder so she can speak. She brings up the open challenge Tweet from Gunner declaring that Rios will be answering the call on Takedown.

“So who will answer the Warrior’s call? There is no need for wondering. There is no need to blindly grope into the dark for an answer for Oráculo has the answer as his gift brings all things into the light. This match is his destiny.”

Jordynne Grace and Rosita and Hania vs Velvet Sky and Amber O’Neal and Rebel

Up next we have a match stemming from last Takedown when Grace and Rosita saved Hania from a two on one beatdown which  itself stemmed from Hania, Wes and Tatanka’s continuing issues with The Premiere. Amber and Sky are out first with the new QCW debut Rebel with them. Amber and Velvet are arm in arm, not really shunning Rebel but not letting her into their pair. The fan favorites are out after with Tatanka and Wes behind them but the men return to the back after seeing that Jeff Lewis Neal and Jeremy Vain are not around. It seems they’re still dodging Tatanka and Wes. Rosita and Grace both get a lot of time to shine but some boasting from Grace rubs Rosita the wrong way causing a little argument that Hania has to stop. Near the end Shaul Gurrerro again makes her presence known handing a chair off to Rosita once more. Rosita picks it up and begins to ask Shaul if she’s seriously doing this again. While they’re arguing Grace comes to and rolls in and snatches the chair from Rosita’s hands. They begin arguing over exactly what Rosita was going to do with that chair. Hania for the second time comes to end the squabble but this time Amber rams into her from behind sending her in to Grace who had the chair infront of her chest who in turn smashes Rosita into the corner. Grace and Rosita fall and Hania turns and staggers into a Stunna from Velvet! Amber gets the cover and picks up the win. In the aftermath Grace stomps off, waving off a loudly sass’ing Rosita.

Chase Stevens and Adam Page promo

We cut to a room where Chase Stevens sits in a backwards steel chair fidgeting with a phone in one hand while Adam Page paces behind him. Stevens talks first.

“You heard it from Brad Maddox first but now it’s official. Just got the text from The Man.”

He holds up the phone to show the text but really the only clear thing is that it’s from Ric Flair.

“At Starrcade we’re defending our titles against Chad Gable and Peter Kaasa.”

Adam Page stops and pitches in

“So you’re saying that Brad Maddox got told who we’re facing before us?”

“Seems like it buddy.”

Page kicks something across the room hard. He is pissed.

“I thought I was done with disrespect when we got rid of Ricky Morton but it turns out that, hey the boss doesn’t think he needs to treat me any better! His little stooge gets news about me before I do. Well fu-”

Chase Stevens stands up and stops Page with a hand on his chest.

“Calm down a bit. Just take a breath. He doesn’t respect you? Those fans on Twitter don’t respect you? Well we’ll make them. We’re getting the next poster boys. The new age Steiners that the powers want to put on posters. You know what we’re gonna do? We’re going to put them away. You’re going to drop one of them right on their head. You Gave Ricky Morton mercy because you owed him a little but you don’t owe anyone here. You can cut loose and make this easy Trust me kid, we have this. We’ve got a long time with these titles coming. We won’t stop until they’re begging Adam Page to be the star of this show. We won't be done till you’re ready to be the Man”

Page is calmed and Stevens assures him this is just the first step on his path to stardom.

Mickie James vs ODB

And in the main event we have the returning Mickie James wrestling her first match in the Queen City since she tapped out to Mia Svennson back in April. She takes on the now seemingly perpetually pissed off ODB. Some on-screen tweets and commentary reveal that ODB is ticked off by Mickie James’ coming back and walking right into a title bout while she hasn’t had one since the first championship match. The match quickly turns into a brawl through ODB’s efforts and Mickie answering back. An STF by Mickie slows the pace back down and puts her in control. ODB uses her power to get back into it when she’s caught with a sudden Mick-Kick that gets Mickie the clean pinfall victory.

Takedown June 25th

A Regretful Challenge

We open the show with The Dudleyz in the ring looking ready to go. It’s time for The Bravados to get their promised revenge! On commentary Brad Maddox is trying to remain partial but snickers at the idea of the Bravados getting anything over on The Dudleys. Joining him on this segment is Mattman Harris who in contrast is all about The Bravados here, hyping them to the ends of the earth. The Bravados music hits and the normally reserved brothers come out looking agitated. Harris says they look like pitbulls while Maddox compares them to a couple of angry toy Poodles. The Bravados strip off their sweater vests and....The Dudleyz go down! The Briscoes have stormed the ring with chairs! Ripping off the black Rebel Flag Bandannas they covered their face with The Briscoes presence is known! Jay barks at Mark to “Get the damn tables!” as he takes turns on each Dudley with his chair, limping between them with his protective boot still on. Mark obeys his brother and wildly bails out and pulls a couple tables and a ladder from under the ring. Mark slides the objects into the ring and uses the Ladder to batter The Dudleys while Jay sets up the table. Bubba gets placed on the table while Jay goes up to the top rope where Mark hoists D-Von up to him so that he can bring D-Von down with a Superbomb onto Bubba to break the table. At this point The Bravados roll in and begin acting all chummy with The brothers that are standing tall. That doesn’t last long though because they snap on The Bravados too and bea the tar out of them, fist after fist. Jay even grabs a piece of table and double stomps it toto Harlem’s face. They throw Lancelot to the floor and begin setting up the ladder, putting one end in the ring and the other in a set up steel chair. This is followed by Mark slamming him into the contraption with a nasty Cut-Throat Driver. The Briscoes have destroyed four men here and leave, heads held high.

Kamikaze Kid vs Scott Steiner

Back after the break the ring area has been cleaned up but according to a hyped Maddox it won’t stay that way. The Kid waits in the ring as Sirens begin to go off and the leather jacket clad Big Bad Booty Daddy makes his way down to the ring. The bout starts off with a nasty clothesline from Steiner and it just gets worse for Kid from there.  He’s slung across the ring with a mulitittude of suplexes, each one sending the smaller man farther away from Stiner than the previous one. Finally Steiner locks on The Recliner and ends the beating with a submission victory. He doesn’t celebrate though but instead calls for the mic. A smiling Maddox brings it in and holds it while Steiner goes on a mostly incomprehensible rant. There’s mentions of disrespect towards Rick Steiner’s boys, accusations of Caleb Konley being a skinny fatass and whipped by another man’s woman with some swearing for good measure. Point is that Scott Stiner is going to whip Caleb Konley’s ass at Starrcade.Steiner rustles Maddox’s hair really roughly before leaving to his music.

Kaasa and Gable vs Hollis and Day

Up next we have more of Brad Maddox’s friends as the number one contenders to the Tag-Team Titles, Peter Kaasa and Chad Gable ae up and taking on the team of Corey Hollis and Chip Day. It’s not the slaughterfest we saw previously as Hollis gets some work in on Kaasa but as soon as Gable and Kaasa get control it’s another suplex party that ends with Day getting hit with a Doomsday Bulldog and getting pinned.

AJ Styles promo

A prerecorded promo with AJ Styles at his home plays. He is again calling into question the character of Truitt Fields, ripping into him for his actions during the assault on Ricky Steamboat by The Souths.

“You want to get pissed off and act like I’m in the wrong for calling you a sorry Bastard? Well that’s weird because the only thing you’ve done since then is prove me right. You took advantage of a situation where a LEGEND like Ricky Steamboat was being held hostage infont of his son. Instead of being a man and helping you decided to attack me. When you first showed up you made it sound like your kid was a big motivation for you. Getting that child back in your life. You'd do anything, like buying into a power hungry drunk's scheme to screw over an old friend of yours. Hey, I get that. I look at my kids and I know theres not a thing I wouldn't do for them. But I have to question if that's really the truth with you or if it's just words. See when I sit here with my kids on my lap I feel that one of a kind love between a father and his children. I know how The Steamboats feel about each other. That's what made me not want to sit by and do nothing to help them. I can't wrap my head around how a man that knows that love could do anything else. So the fact that you decided to jump on me instead makes me wonder if you're a a man and a father or just a sorry bastard with a kid that was better off without him. I guess we'll find out what you're made of at Starrcade"

Jordynne Grace vs Velvet Sky

In somewhat of a follow up of last week’s match we have Jordynne Grace taking on Velvet Sky one on one just like a previous match in the Queen City Cup. This week however Velvet has

Amber O’Neal and Rebel in her corner while Grace has Tessa Blanchard and Mia Svensson with her! The whole Daughters of Valhalla unit is here together to back each other up. The more experienced Sky uses some dirty tactics to counter Grace’s size but that soon falls away when Mia and Tessa keep Amber and Rebel away from the action. Velvet tries her damndest to keep control but soon Grace is steamrolling her and planting her firmly in the mat with her sitout Powerbomb to pick up the win.

Championship Commercial

A “commercial” airs before the show comes back going over the possible opponents for Shelton Benjamin to defend his NWA Title against at Starrcade. After giving Shibata, Hero and Balor some video hype, Shelton and Coach end up pointing out the missing option. Shelton says that he doesn’t really care who he gets because he’ll be any of them, he just begs everyone not to vote for Ron Killings because Shelton actually wants a challenge from someone he hasn’t already beaten.

The best Dad’s gift

Richie Steamboat comes out after the break and he talks about how his Dad went above and beyond in getting him a partner. He could have just asked someone on the roster and that would have been fine but no, he called in a favor and went to the top.  Richie’s gloating is cut off by the emergence of George South and the QCW Magnum Champion George South Jr. GSJ calls the Steamboats cowards and cheats for getting someone who isn’t around to do business except for when the lights are out. South Sr stops him though and gets to the point that he too has a gift for his son. He too called in a favor and they got him. They have Richie’s partner. Richie crosses his arms and stands in the ring, looking skeptical. Sr motions to the double TV’s at the entrance way. A feed comes up of a darkened room with a chair in the middle that has chains around the arms. Strange thing is no one’s there in the chair. Back to the Souths and there’s confusion and anger until the lights go out. When they come back up there is a man in a black shirt, pants and trenchcoat with a painted face laying at the feet of the Souths. A man many know as Jeff Farmer. Pinned to his chest is a paper with the words “Get your own trick” written on it. The lights dim again and there’s scuffling heard. When they come back up this time South Jr has been rolled into the ring with Richie who again has a black bat. Richie gives him a shot to his belt covered gut before smacking it over his back and flooring him.The segment ends with Richie pointing the bat at a retreating and scared George South Sr.

Gunner vs Jay Rios

And now it’s main event time as the Number One Contender for the QCW Heavyweight Championship, The Modern Day Viking, Gunner takes on the up and coming “Oraculo” Jay Rios in a match made through an open challenge on Twitter. The super intense Gunner is down first, fast marching to the ring and roaring to the fans from the top rope. Rios is out next with Catlina at his side making his mystical blinded entrance. On commentary Maddox points out this is Rios’ biggest match yet. At the start of the bout Rios opts to not remove his blindfold. Instead he stands in the middle of the ring with his arms out in a cross. Gunner approaches the situation cautiously and takes his time deciding on his move. He decides on a clothesline but Rios just ducks that and retakes his position.Gunner looks a bit frustrated but reels  it in. He goes back around front and peers in at the eye on Rios’ blindfold. He rears back for a punch and Rios ducks but Gunner doesn’t throw it, instead grabbing Rios and hauling him up for a powerbomb but Rios rolls off onto his back and onto his feet. Gunner swings again and Rios ducks this one to hit a Pele back kick that stuns Gunner! He then grabs Gunner’s hand and then rules up the corner and springs off sending Gunner rolling with a flying armdrag. After this he removes the blindfold and resumes his pose to cheers from his corner. The number one contender looks to be getting pissed but when he rolls back in he stops short of throwing another attack. He takes a few moments and calms himself before copying Rios’ pose. Rios and Catrina both look like they never expected this. Rios make a quick choice and delivers a spin kick to the gut doubling Gunner over before kicking him in the face to stand him up. He grabs Gunner by the head and moves him to the corner before darting to the opposite one and motioning for his Handstand DDT. He runs in for but Gunner comes out with a swing. Rios ducks and keeps up his run to run up to the second rope and turn around. Gunner turns back and comes at him but Rios jumps over him and rolls back to the corner he started in. Both turn and charge to center where Gunner just levels Rios with a massive inside out Spear. The number One Contender slaps himself in a head a couple times to fire himself up before hauling Rios up like a small child and brutalizing him with a nasty triple set up powerbombs. After that he peels Oraculo up from the mat and finishes him with a Hanger 12 to pick up the win.

After the bout while the fired up Gunner celebrates he takes a second to snatch up the studio mic and loudly calls out the QCW Heavyweight Champion James Storm. After a few moments “Hang Em High” kicks in and the QCW Heavyweight Champion comes out from the back with his title over his shoulder and a Whiskey bottle he’s sipping from.He makes his way down unafraid to face his challenger. Maddox, who is now in the ring, holds the mic between the two as Storm starts.

“Well boy, hell of a match. You got tossed around..”

Gunner grabs the mic in Maddox’s hand and pulls it towards him.

“Can it, Storm! I didn’t call you out here so I could listen to you, I called you out here so you could look me in the eyes and know how serious I am about what I have to say. The other week in this ring you told a real good story. You spoke from the heart and you told the truth but yu only told your side. Yeah Storm, every story has two sides and I have mine. You talked about how many times you’ve beat me and that is all true. You’ve beaten me many times over the years. You keep pulling every damn trick out of the book to do it but in the end you’ve won. But when you were telling that story you hit on something that you don’t quite understand. You said that I keep coming. Ain’t that the damn truth. See that’s the difference between us. I see my goal and I never quit.I never give in. I never stop moving forward. You can put me down and I’ll get right back the hell up and keep on. You though, the moment you hit a roadblock in life you panic and start looking for other ways around. It doesn’t matter if you have to lie, cheat or steal you’ll do whatever gets you around.Me? I didn’t concoct little plans to run the problem away I just smash my damn way through. You’ve turned my friends against me, set a monster on me and even lit my house on fire to try and make me go away. You think that if you make me miserable enough I’ll just take a turn and go away because that’s what you do. Everything you’ve done to me just motivates me to smash down more barriers and keep on moving because that’s the kind of man I am. My goal is getting to Starrcade, becoming champion and ripping your damn head off! And there’s not a damn thing that will stop me!”

Storm pulls the mic towards himself.

“Wow. Here’s the thing though-””

Storm just strikes out and kicks GUnner right between the legs. As Gunner sinks to the mat Storm holds up his bottle before taking a last big drink, emptying it. He crouches down infront of Gunner with the bottle, waiting on him to push to his feet. Gunner makes it up and Storm swings but Gunner ducks down and takes Storm to the mat and starts pounding on him. The champion rolls the attack over and lands his own before Gunner kicks him off. Both men get to their feet and start exchanging but Gunner powers though and clothesline’s Storm over the roes to the floor. The TV broadcast closes out here but…

WWE Network Exclusive Feed

Gunner follows to the floor but gets a piece of small lighting equipment thrown at his head that just clips him. Storm starts  beating Gunner back the to the other side of the ring and up onto the hardwood interview stage with Maddox’s desk set up and such. Gunner gets a knee in and the two tangle up before Gunner clubs him down to his knees and punts him in the ribs sending Storm rolling off the side back to the floor. Storm climbs back to his feet and starts climbing the stage again but It’s at this point security swarm both men and begin trying to pull them apart but they are not having it! They both start flooring guards and then at one point Gunner scoops one up and gives him the Hanger 12 off the stage onto the others and James Storm below! Gunner staggers down the steps to the floor and continues the beating at a slower pace just hitting Storm with a blow every few seconds, driving him back through the bowels of the studio. Storm manages to turn it around briefly with a punch to the gut and tilting a small light stand over into Gunner but Gunner rams him into the wall and turns it right back. THey make it by a door and Gunner sends the champion tumbling out into the parking area. The fight rolls through the lot to near the street side where the property meets undeveloped woods. Gunner continues his assault but that ends when Storm pulls him into a tree. Gunner tries to shake it off but Storm rams him into the tree before grabbing his head and slamming him back into it. He then gives him a rough and low kind of hip toss that rolls him into the street infront of the studio where we can hear Sirens in the distance.. He grabs Gunner up and sticks his head between his thighs and threatens a piledriver but Gunner backdrops him onto the pavement! Gunner Crawls over to a large hunk of concrete on the roadside and gets his hands on it as the sounds ofsirens gets louder. He stands up with it in his hands and staggers over to Storm with it in hand. He hefts it up in the air as the flashing blue lights shine on him and he’s tackled by Police before he can bring it down. The officers are easily able to cuff him as he calms down but things kickoff again when a now risen James Storm attacks him as they tried to walk Gunner to the Cruiser. He gets some shots off but soon the QCW heavyweight champion is in cuffs too being loaded up!

Youtube:Grace is attacked

In fancam video Jordynne Grace is shown out back of the arena having impromptu meet and greet with some teenage fans. She’s looking a bit worn from her match earlier but she’s seems happy to be giving her time here. Some commotion from the fight between Storm and Gunner is heard in the distance and she takes a moment to look in that direction where the flashing lights are but that ends when she gets a pipe to her lower back. The fans scatter but the one behind the camera turns back to show Shaul Guerrero standing over her twirling the pipe.

Youtube:Hardy has an invite

Together infront of a QCW backdrop is Matt Hardy, Caprice Coleman and Cedric Alexander. All three men look angered. Hardy speaks and mentions that some fans on Twitter the past few days might have seen him asking people to look for his father-in-law.  Well they\ve found him. In a way. See some people sent Matt some DM’s and revealed that they saw him with The Revival and Silas Young at a bar the night he disappeared. Matt says they could take this to the Police but he won’t because he knows what The Revival and Young want. Bring him home and the gates will be open and Hardy, Coleman and Alexander will be waiting.

Ignition June 27th

Starrcade Changes

We open up the show in Ric Flair’s home office where he addresses the wild brawl between James  Storm and Gunner that occurred at Takedown. Luckily with a little persuasion no one was locked up and both champion and challenger are free and getting ready to faceoff again at Starrcade. To prevent that match from melting down and spilling outside again Flair announces that it will take place in a STEEL CAGE.

The Queen is in attendance

We go to the area where a still shot shows us something a bit out of the norm for Ignition. Up in the higher area that’s normally only open for the large events and covered for Ignition we can see the VIP box. The space around is empty but the box has none other than the QCW Women’s Champion Charlotte seated within. The Queen sips from a wine glass and looks ready to see a show.

Rosita vs Tessa Blanchard

Our first match of the night sees Queen City Cup Finalist Rosita taking on a close friend and training partner  of her upcoming Starrcade opponent Jordynne Grace.  Blanchard is out alone and it’s noted that her mentor Mia Svennson is in the mainevent later. Rosita uses some flashy, quick offence to the delight of the crowd while Tessa does her best to match her while sneaking in hard strikes. A nasty move called as a Half&Half Flatliner flattens Rosita and nearly gets Tessa the win but Rosita just kicksout. Tessa moves uptop for a Senton but misses when Rosita rolls out of the way. Rosita takes the top and flys off with a Moonsault. As soon as she lands, commentary react to her knees smacking Tessa in the head. A three count is made and Rosita celebrates while to doctor check on an unmoving Tessa. Rosita notices this and looking quite concerned  she leans in to ask what’s up but she soon backs off when Jordynne barrels down and enters the ring. She takes a second to check  on Tessa before turning to Rosita who is loudly explaining it was an accident and she had nothing to do with Gurerro attacking Grace after Takedown. Grace responds with a clothesline and a powerbomb. Officials quickly move in to break it up as we go to  break.

Dudleyz Promo

We cut to what is clearly the aftermath of the last Takedown where The Briscoe Brothers viciously attacked the Dudley Boyz. It’s backstage and there are medical crew attempting to further checkout the Brothers Dudley, who are not cooperating. Bubba throws a chair at the wall and the crew scatter. D-Von grabs the camera guy and pulls him in closer so that they can both be heard. Bubba speaks first.

“Do you hillbillies have any idea what you\ve done? Do you?!?!

Bubba puts his hands to his face and kinda mutters

“They’re drunk. They have to be, D-Von. They’ve drank too much of that pisswater Moonshine and they went and did something stupid. It’s the only explanation for what they’ve done. They got smashed and decided it was a great idea tohop off their sister long enough to come piss us off!

D-Von nods in agreement before Bubba addresses the camera again.

Briscoes! What you’ve done is piss off the most dangerous Tag-Team in the world for 20 years running now! You-you-I can’t even begin to really explain it.

Bubba is beside himself, lacking the words to express how bad this is for the Briscoe Brothers. Then it comes to him.

“I think I figured out how to put it. Your type is real big on the Bible, right? Well you know  the Ten Commandments?  Rules you really don’t want to beak unless you want to end up in the pits of hell. Well we have our own Commandment. Just the one. And it is “Thou Shall NOT F**k with The Dudley Boyz”! At Starrcade you’re gonna feel like you’re with the Devil because we’re gonna fry your asses!”

“Oh my Brother, TESTIFY!”

JLN on the radio

Back from break we’re taken to a video by Mattman Harris, sourced from the FB page of The Rise Guys,  the morning radio talk show that he and Jeff Lewis Neal are a part of. The video is a normal part of the bit they’re doing where Neal does an absurd challenge where he takes a punishment if he loses or can’t complete it. The challenge is that Jeff has to drink a glass of water from a nearby river that’s notorious for smelling really bad. Jeff takes a few sniffs and gags while everyone laughs before giving up and denying it, opting for the punishment. Mattman makes sure JLN is sure about this and once it’s made clear that he is the punishment gets revealed. Matt opens the door to the hallway and in come Wes Brisco and Tatanka! Lewis has a good idea what’s happening and begs off, telling them that he’s at work. Wes, with a smile on his face, says he knows before popping Lewis in the face. Tatanka stands back as Wes beats on a screaming JLN, even hitting him with a mic. He  lets Lewis get up before tackling him and knocking him through the thin wall separating the studio from office space. Lewis grans on the floor beaten but it’s not over just yet. Tatanka takes the bottle of disgusting water from Mattman and hands it off to Wes who opens it, takes a sniff and recoils a bit before pouring it on JLN’s face.

Truitt Fields vs Ethan Case

The next bout is one you\d normally get in the main event but it’s not even the end of the show! Case comes down first with his girlfriend and colorful steamers as is the norm for them now. Truitt is out next in a much more simplistic entrance. As soon as the bell rings Truitt starts throwing bombs.  Case makes a comeback off of cutter and from there the match is an even, back and forth affair. Case manages to one counter The Killing Fields into a kind of armdrag that leads into him flipping into some complicated pin that nearly gets a three. He takes to the air after for a big flying shoulderblock but Truitt is able to catch him out of the air with a powerslam. He follows it up with a press slam dropped into a Spinebuster that almost earned the win. Instead Case kicks out and fights on, eventually sending Truitt into a corner. He follows in for a splash but Fields ducks out of the way and sprints into the ropes as Case bounces off the buckles, coming back to clatter him with a Bradshaw-ese lariat that flips Case head over heels. Truitt peels him up off the mat to haul him up into a backdrop hold that he drops into the Killing Fields. After that the Three Count is easily made and Truitt picks up a win heading into his Starrcade match against AJ Styles.

Mia Svensson and Jordynne Grace Promo

In the back infront of the QCW backdrop are two of the  Daughters of Valhalla. Both Women have big things ahead at Starrcade but the night is not over for them as next in the mainevent Mia will be taking on Velvet Sky.  Lodi asks Mia for her thoughts on where they have found themselves in the promotion after almost a year. Mia says that she is currently full of pride. She’s proud of her own accomplishments, being a former Women’s Champion now, and Tessa’s progress as a wrestler but most of all she’s proud of Jordynne. When they wrestled not too long ago she felt just how far she has come since they met and she has full belief in Grace winning the Queen City Cup. She addresses her opponent tonight by saying the Velvet and Amber O’Neal will try and discount what they’ve earned but their Jealousy will never bring down true warriors.

Lodi next asks Grace about what happened earlier with Tessa and Rosita and the recent attack by Shaul Gurrero. Grace answers that she is just fed up with all the drama in this Cup. She hates drama. She mentions that she doesn’t talk much like this for exactly that reason but she feels like she has to say some things to Rosita, the “chief drama Queen” as Grace calls her.  Jordynne says that Rosita better thank god that Tessa will be OK after that match they had. Rosita doesn’t even want to think about what would happen if she wasn’t. Either way though Grace says she’s putting an end to all the drama with Rosita at Starrcade because Grace is going to run her over and if Shaul Guerrero shows up again she’ll get her own special beating too.

Mia Svennson vs Velvet Sky

And it is now Main Event time. Velvet Sky is first to come out and as anyone should have expected Amber O’Neal is at her side. A PIP promo in the bottom corner of the screen happens where Velvet complains that when she agreed to come to QCW there were promises made that haven’t been delivered. She blames this on “The losers that think all that Valkyrie crap is cool”. She is done letting them get her down. Out next of course is the former QCW Women’s Champion Mia Svensson along with her protege Jordynne Grace, two women who have big business to attend to at Starrcade. Mia looks up to the VIP box where one of her opponents, her current rival Charlotte is sitting. Mia looks tense and serious while Charlotte just smirks and sips her drink.  Velvet starts the match attacking Mia from behind in the corner while she has final words with Grace but it doesn’t take The Valkyrie Warrior long at all to turn things around, twisting under Velvet’s arm on an Irish Whip attempt before pulling her into a hard European Uppercut. Velvet manages to turn is back to her favor a couple times with Amber O’Neal’s help but that stops when Grace backs her up the ramp. Velvet looks for the win with her Stunna but Mia grabs the arm when Velvet tries to hook her head and forces her into The Ragnalock! Velvet quickly taps out giving Mia the win! After the match Mia and Grace are in the ring celebrating when Rosita, looking still hurt from her earlier appearance barges out from the back. She rolls into the ring and calls for a mic. While it’s being gathered Mia shares some quick words with Grace before dipping out and heading to the back past Velvet and Amber who are still on the ramp pouting over the loss. Rosita gets the mic and goes off on Grace, questioning the “Chief Drama Queen” title given earlier.

“Nah, you don’t get out of here tonight without hearing from me face to face. Back there you want to call ME a Drama Queen? I find that real funny because I may have some issues with somebody following me around but that’s not on me. I didn’t cause that. But you on the other hand barge out here like some kind of Gorilla after I accidentally hurt Tessa, which I’m sorry about by the way but we’re wrestlers, it happens sometimes...you barge out here, jump me and then go run your mouth about it. This is all on top of you throwing in towels in matches you weren’t invited to and getting into fights with your friends over it. There’s a drama queen in this ring but it’s not me. See I just want to live up to the standards I set for myself and prove that I am the best. That Queen City Cup has my name on it. ”

Grace bucks up to Rosita yet the smaller woman doesn’t back down and shoves her, making Grace stumble just a bit before going right back and going forehead to forehead with Rosita who is still talking after dropping the mic.  Before this situation can explode both women are attacked by Velvet Sky and Amber O’Neal! As they put the boots to Grace and Rosita Mia Svensson makes her way back to the ramp but before she can get too far she’s quickly shoved off the ramp to the floor from behind by Mickie James! Mia hits hard and suddenly has a medic or stage hand attending to her. The Queen back in her box is looking surprised but pleased at this development.  Mickie feigns an “oops” and then blows a kiss up to Charlotte before backing into the back. In the ring the beating gets turned around anyway as Grace and Rosita fight back! Grace manages to shove Velvet away so Amber turns away from Rosita to help giving Rosita a chance to hit her with a backstabber. The move bounces her forward into the line of a charging Jordynne who clotheslines both invaders! She grabs the closest one, Amber, hauls her up and smashes her with a Michinoku driver as Velvet bails out of the ring.  Velvet grabs her limp friend by the ankles and drags her out while Grace just sits there on her knees  and motions for Velvet to come back on in. Before she can though she’s wiped out from behind by running Double knees from Rosita! Rosita yells at her ”That’s what you get!” Rosita celebrates around the ring and Charlotte claps for her up  in the box as this show ends.

Year 1 Recap Show

The Grandest Stage of Them All. The Show of Shows. The Showcase of The Immortals. WrestleMania. Wrestling fans around the world know the Grandeur, the glory, the importance.

But before there was WrestleMania there was another. There was Starrcade.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZh6XVNeWkE

After the video the shot fades into a darkened room lit only by a large TV monitor and very dim blue twinkles of light behind it. Off to the side stands The Man, the Greatest of All-Time and the Owner of Queen City Wrestling, The Nature Boy Ric Flair. He watches the monitor, spending a moment smiling to himself at the display before turning to the camera and taking center screen.

“And you know that I was at the center of many of them. The Nature Boy was made at Starrcade.  1983. Inside a Steel Cage with Harley Race. One of the hardest days of my life. But I climbed those ropes and lept off and three second later it was over and I was once agin Champion of the World and everybody from Charlotte to Tokyo knew that I was the real deal.  And here I am 33 years later bringing it back. Bringing it back for a new generation of Stars to make their legacies with. Tomorrow night Starrcade returns to the world. And here tonight we’re going to tell you all about what you’re going to see

After the break we come back to Flair. He announces that the opening match tomorrow night will be one of the biggest on the show as the first match on the return of Starrcade should be. It will be the NWA Championship bout where the NWA World Champion Shelton Benjamin will defend his title against the winner of the fan poll on the NWA Website. Who won the poll? Well…

A graphic appears on screen showing the totals. It appears we have a tie! As Ron Killings and Finn Balor both have 37 percent! We cut back to an excited Flair dancing who stops to make it official. At Starrcade Shelton Benjamin will be facing Ron Killings and Finn Balor in a Triple Threat!

Cutting into a prerecorded package we fade into a shot of Ron Killings sat on his porch in Charlotte with his daughter on his lap across from QCW’s Tessa Blanchard.. The Truth is just smiling as much as he can.  He is so grateful for one more shot at the NWA Championship. He says that some people have been saying that his time is up and that it’s time for a new challenger and that he should just step aside and move on because it’s not 2003 anymore. Killings says he knows it feels like he’s been chasing that title for a while now and it’s been a hell of a long time since he last had it.. He’s well aware of time. Sitting behind bars all those years ago with nothing to do but count down the days till freedom gave him that perspective. It’s even clearer now with this little girl on his lap getting bigger by the day.  He knows that he’s been around a long time. But he doesn’t have it in him to just step down and go find something easier. He decided a long time ago that he was going to live his life trying to be better than he was the day before. He’s fallen off every now and then but he’s on track now.

“I need that title. Not to prove that I’m the best. It’s not about that. It’s not...it’s not ALL about me.I need that title to show my fans. My friends. My family, especially this little one right here, man. I need it to give them the lesson without my mistakes, that if they live every day try to be better than they can make their dreams come true. No matter how many days are behind them or infront of them, they can do it because I did it.”

Next we go to the former NXT Champion Finn Balor. Finn is in the WWE Performance Center wearing an NXT T-Shirt under his leather jacket. He sits in a steel chair just outside the empty training ring. He starts off by thanking the fans for the votes and cooking him to get an opportunity at another championship. He moves on to say that Ron Killings or Shelton Benjamin don’t really know him so he’s going to tell them a bit about himself. He says that he’s actually pretty similar to both men. He’s seen Shelton Benjamin over the years, he knows about all the championships Shelton has collected from the WWE to Japan and everywhere between. He says he’s quite a collector himself and as he does various images of Finn with titles quickly flash on the screen. The drive of a true champion carries them both on. He says that he’s heard Killings talks about getting the match. He quotes The Truth’s bit about being better than the day he was before.  Finn says he lives that way too. But what makes him different? Balor leans forward and clues them in.

“Well it’s a matter of depth. Depth of confidence and depth of will. Benjamin isa champion of champions but he lacks confidence in himself. Even with all his natural god given talent Shelton still takes short cuts when things get hard because he thinks he does have what it takes to get over that hump the right way. Ron Killings, you’re a dedicated man. I can tell that you’re going to give it your all until the well runs dry but I have to wonder, how deep is your well? Can you see the bottom? I look at mine and I know it goes down deep into the dark.”

Finn straightens back up and a sly smile returns to his face. He addresses both upcoming opponents as gentlemen and tells them it’s going to be an honor to get in the ring with them tomorrow night. He tells them to bring their best because he will be.

--

After the break we come back again this time to Tessa Blanchard who continues to tell us what we\ll be seeing tomorrow night.  She’s here to cover the upcoming Clash between the “Sadistic Soldier“ Truitt Fields and “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles.

“For those of you new to Queen City Wrestling the name “Truitt Fields” may stand out to you as one you don’t know. Unlike other competitors here Truitt has never been on national TV or PPV and infact was he was retired and out of pro-wrestling until the last year where he was brought here by James Storm. Why and how did this relative unknown find himself in a match with world renown superstar AJ Styles?

Spoiler

Well Truitt’s path to Starrcade ties in with the personal, bitter rivalry in the mainevet  between James Storm and Gunner that dates back to the second QCW show back in August of 2015 but Triutt himself made his first appearance a little later.

Jan 2nd 2016: Crown Town Crunch: QCW Heaveyweight Title: Storm vs Gunner vs Killings

When Gunner rises Storm goes for High Noon on him but Gunner catches him behind the knees and manages to block it before maneuvering Storm's legs around to turn it into a huge PTSD Powerbomb! Storm rolls up to his feet quickly on instinct but gets taken down just as quickly with a spear. Gunner goes into the pin and the official begins to make the count and as his hand is coming down for the three he's ripped from the ring and decked in the face by what appears to be a man in camouflage pants, a black sweater and a ski mask.

Gunner takes a moment to realize what just happened but when he does he makes eye contact with the man and lets out a "son of a bitch!" before darting from the ring in a chase. The masked man runs around the ring with the angry Marine on his tail and after a lap and some juking he decides it best to flee to the ring. Gunner follows him in intent on getting his hands on this guy but that dream is ended too when Storm flattens him with a  second "Last Call" superkick. Storm goes into a pin and begins yelling for a ref. The masked man exits the ring with haste and rolls the same official he hit back into the ring where a slow three count is made. The man in camo and black helps The champion up and they begin to celebrate but that doesn't last long though because soon Gunner is up and clotheslines Storm to hell before grabbing the masked man by his shirt collar and forcing him into the corner. All manner of threats can be coming from Gunner's mouth in the corner but they all stop when the man pulls his mask off. He's a early-thirties man a little smaller than Gunner with short brown hair and eyes full of hate. The commentary team don't recognize the man and seemingly neither does anyone in the crowd but it's apparent Gunner does because he lets go of him and backs up before confusedly asking "You?" and "why?". Before he can get answers through the man grabs Gunner's shoulder and spins him around so he can take a "High Noon" facebreaker from the QCW Heavyweight Champion. Storm bends over his fallen foe and yells "I told you I'd make you regret it!" before sharing a handshake and quick hug with the man that just helped him retain the title. We go to an ad break on a shot of Storm holding up the title as the formerly masked man looks down at Gunner, clearly pleased.

Soon after The Sadistic Soldier was introduced by name.

Jan 5th 2016: Ignition

In a pretaped segment we see the Queen City Wrestling Heavyweight Champion James Storm standing side by side with the man that helped him defeat Gunner at Crown Town Crunch. Storm reveals that this man's name is Truitt Fields and he is an old friend of Gunner's that was once like a brother but now hates him with a passion. Why does he hate Gunner so badly? Well, you'll just have to tune in to Takedown where the man himself will tell the story and by the end of it, you'll hate Gunner too.

And Thus on January 23 the story was told. At least Truitt's part.

January 23rd 2016: Takedown

We join Brad Maddox at his interview desk where he informs us that this will be tonight’s only interview because they were informed ahead of time of the magnitude of the things it’ll contain. After Brad finishes he welcomes his guest for tonight, Truitt Fields . “Warrior” by Disturbed plays as the man emerges from the curtains with James Storm slightly behind him. The champion whispers something into his ear before slipping back behind it. Truitt joins Maddox and the interview is on.

- Who are you?
Truitt seems like a fine tempered man answering this question. He answers that he’s a pro wrestler that’s been working off and on since 2006 and before that he served in the United States Military. He adds that he’s been retired from wrestling for a couple years now.

- How did you meet Gunner
At this question his attitude starts to change. He’s not snarling but you can feel the anger slip in. He tells us all that he met Gunner pretty much as soon as he came home. He was training at a wrestling school attached to a promotion Gunner wrestled for. He says that they quickly bonded over having served before trying wrestling. They were best friends before Gunner showed his true colors.

- Why did you screw him over?
Truitt starts with a simple answer

“Because I hate his guts.”

Truitt says that when Gunner started to get interest from bigger promotions he had said he was putting in a good word for Truitt too trying to get him a spot. It's at this point he looks into the camera and speaks directly to Gunner.

"I believed you, you know. I believed you right until the day you didn't show up to the school and you stopped answering my calls. You didn't just leave, did you though Gunner? No, no. You took someone after all. You took Mikael Judas with you. Not me, not your best friend, not the guy you swore was your brother! You took that talentless lump. I know why. I get it, I can understand and even though it hurt I can forgive. it's easy to see, You took someone that'd have no chance at over shadowing you. All you had to do was call up and say sorry and it would have all been fine. You didn't do that though. You were just gone and in the end when it all came down  you weren't there when I needed you. When I was forced to abandon my dream of professional wrestling, when I had to take a minimum wage menial job just to try and support my family - you weren't there. When my marriage fell apart, my ex-wife abandoned me and stormed out and stole my kid... you weren't there! When I was the alcohol took me and I lost my job, my only means to get by you WERE NOT there! When I was left in the gutter, homeless and alone with no hope or support in the world - GOD D**N IT CHAD - YOU WEREN'T THERE! As soon as you got to the big time you  forgot your "brother" Truitt. Abandoned to the cold, begging and struggling to find food or shelter. No hope, no way to see my kid, no way to get back in wrestling shape, nothing - because YOU WEREN'T THERE WHEN I NEEDED YOU THE MOST

After a long tense few moments Maddox moves into the next question.

- What is your relationship to the Heavyweight Champion?
Truitt perks up at this a bit with a bitter laugh and smile. He tells us that James Storm is every bit the man Gunner pretends to be. He credits James Storm with saving his life.

"He took me off the street. He paid my rent and bought my food, bought my kid a plane ticket  to see me every other weekend until I was me again. Until I could look in the mirror and not see a overweight drunk! You all act like that man's the devil but he's an angel. He's given me my life back and in the end he did what Gunner promised he'd do. He put in a word for me here and got me a job as a pro-wrestler. I'm here where I belong all thanks to one man."

It's at this point Truitt begins to address Gunner directly again.

“If you’ve got an ounce of manhood you’ll come to Neon Nights and you’ll face me in the middle of the ring after all these years and you’ll fight me in a match…”

Before he can go any farther Gunner has come from the back in street clothes and un-mic’ed. We can’t hear what it is but he’s trying to speak to Truitt and looks to be explaining things and trying to make peace.  Truitt just gets up from the guest couch and without saying a word floors him with a punch to the jaw. Gunner holds his jaw and looks up at his former friend as he yells about Neon Nights. A shoving boot to Gunner’s forehead follows before Truitt marches off  the back. We go to break on a shot of Maddox offering to help Gunner up and Gunner telling him he’s fine.

These hard feelings would lead to a "match" at Neon Nights where Gunner would refuse to fight his old friend and instead get brutalized in the ring. But we're here for the issues between Fields and AJ Styles. This would set off a patch of dectruction for Truitt that sees him go through the likes of Chistian York and Mikel Judas with brutal efficiency and even playing a part in the end of Road Warrior Animal.

March 5th 2016: Pandemonium Truitt Fields vs Mikel Judas

Truitt leaps off the ropes for an axe handle but just gets a boot to the chest instead sending him crashing down hard. Judas hooks him up for the Pumphandle Tombstone but somehow Truitt flips around and turns it into a DDT. Judas manages to get up but walks right into a drop toehold and from there he hope up to Judas’ upperbody and begins trapping one of his arms between his legs. After he has the arm attached to the un-injured shoulder trapped he begins trying to pull the other arm down in a heavily modified Rings of Saturn. Mikel fights it but Truitt is able to get it and it looks nasty. He screams out in pain but shakes his head no as the official asks if he quits. Eventually Truitt gives the arm a big yank back and the loudest scream yet comes and commentary are freaking out saying they heard a “pop” noise. The official takes it into his own hands and calls the match. Fields lets the hold go and raises his arms as Judas clutches his shoulder medical staff surround him.

March 15th: Ignition: Truitt Fields vs Road Warrior Animal

And lastly we have The Sadistic Soldier Truitt Fields who’s set to face his former best friend Gunner at Downpour taking on a living legend in Road Warrior Animal. Truitt is accompanied to the ring by Brodus Clay while Animal is all alone. Animal puts up a fight and once clotheslines Brodus, Stunning him but not knocking him over. In the end though the same RIngs of Saturn move that beat Mikael Judas and damn near destroyed his shoulder makes Animal submit. After the bout Brodus enters and just ends Animal with a Samoan drop and two big splashes. Ignition goes off the air with he and Truitt riding high as doctors cart Animal out.

And it wouldn't stop there.

March 19th: Takedown: Maddox interviews Brodus Clay

-I’m probably going to regret this but I have to ask this. Last time you were on this stage with me it was during Storm’s interview.  A question of respect was raised and James said that he had gained all the respect you could want years ago.  What about you? You walk around here and claim  you want people to fear you, which they do because of the things you’ve done but do you think anyone actually respects you? Because the two are not the same thing and there are some men that don’t feel fear.

Brodus stares a hole through Maddox for a moment before pulling his mask down.

“Did you really just say that to me?”

Brodus stands up and moves at Maddox. CW and Holly try to block him but a headbutt to CW and a chokeslam to Holly across the desk stop that. As Brodus puts some more boots to CW and Holly weazes on the ground Maddox tries to retreat but Storm and Fields have circled around and stop him short. He backs up right into Brodus who spins him around and yanks him up by his sweater vest.

“Look! Look at CW Anderson! Look at Bob Holly! That’s what I do to men that don’t fear me! I break them! I teach them what fear is!

At this point Brodus lifts Maddox up higher before straight up dropping him.He joins Storm and Truitt and  the three exit leaving carnage behind them.

Ironiclly this very show was set to be main event by Truitt Fields taking on AJ Styles. A match made to show off both men quickly became something else when Styles and Richie Steamboat felt the need to drop in after a ringside interview with the Tag-Team Champions.

... Tessa begins to thank them for the comments when AJ Styles and Richie Steamboat who both look pissed off come into view from Tessa’s side.  AJ speaks to the mic.

“We were in the private locker room getting ready for tonight so we didn’t see what went down with Brad Maddox, Bob Holly and CW Anderson until it was over and someone came to show us. That was sick! It was uncalled for and it was cowardly! I was already ready to kick your a** for what Storm tried to do to Christopher Daniels(See Pandemonium Main Event for more) and what you two flunkies did to Animal but now I’m boiling and I don’t know what I’m going to do!”

Richie leans in a bit as Styles gives him room to say something as Page and Morton leave.

“I came here tonight to be in AJ’s corner because I figured you guy would cause problems like you always do this never even crossed my mind. I guess it’s the difference in integrity between me and you guys that I can’t even imagine the things you’ll pull ahead of time.”

Styles gets the mic again.

“Storm! Truitt! Brodus! Get out right now before I come find you where there won’t be any rules!”

It’s at that point AJ rolls into the ring and Truitt Fields music begins to play. The trio of hellions make their way out with Storm just finishing off his bottle with his title over one shoulder. As soon as Truitt enters the ring the bell is rung and AJ charges him. Much to Truitt’s credit he holds his ground and slugs it out. AJ looks to punish Truitt during this match while Steamboat tries to keep Storm and Brodus out of it. Steamboat does well when the match spills out of the ring the first time but it turns out there’s only so much Richie can do with two of them at ringside because they do manage to trip AJ up and distract him at points. Truitt dishes out some punishment of his own spearing the hell out of Styles at one point then at another press slamming him and almost pining him. Once it goes outside again hostilities have got to the point that Storm and Brodus attack Styles too getting the match thrown out. Richie grabs a chair from under the ring and quickly smashes Storm in the back and then Brodus in the shoulder allowing AJ to fight back and push Truitt away to the interview stage. Richie lays into Brodus with mounted punches using the ring to climb but soon Storm is up and yanks him down hard. He grabs up his beer bottle and yells for Brodus to pick Steamboat up. Brodus shakes off the attack and follows order. Storm swings and suddenly Richie ducks meaning Storm smashes the bottle over Brodus’ head, Brodus starts to crumble and catches himself on one knee. Storm looks at Brodus in shock for a second before turning back to Richie, who swings at him with the chair. Storm is the one ducking this time meaning again Brodus gets clattered and goes down. Richie immediately turns around into a Superkick from Storm, flooring him. Cursing at this turn of events Storm darts over to the interview area where AJ and Truitt are still brawling and jumps on AJ from behind and helps Truitt quickly beat him down before they leave through the curtains.

This initial clash would be put to the side just a bit as Truitt was on a collision course with Gunner at the next Network event, Downpour and AJ Styles had busniess to attend to in New Japan Pro Wrestling as their champion.

March 29th Ignition

We join the Sadistic Soldier Truitt Fields somewhere in a park. Fields mentions his match from Takedown with AJ Styles saying it should have been a dream come true for him. To get in the ring with a guy like AJ Styles and fight it out and go toe to toe with him should be a highlight in any career. But it wasn’t for him because all he could think about was Downpour where he finally gets Gunner going all out. Gunner’s presence in his mind taints everything and he won’t be able to enjoy this ride until Gunner is done. He promises he’s going to take everything Gunner has, shrug it off and smash him into dust so that he knows there’s no hope for him in QCW anymore. For one of them to get to move on in their life the other must go. Truitt promises on everything he has that he’s going nowhere.

The match at Downpour would go off the rails leading to Truitt Fields being banned from the Grady Cole Center until the next Network event. Even with that rule in place the violence racheted up with parking lot sneak attacks, a brawl in the home of QCW owner Ric Flair and home invasion leading to their second bout at Rebelion  having none other that multi-time World Champion Chris Jericho as the guest referee. Between these two bouts AJ Styles would reenter the city and even though he was thrown into a situation where he could earn a chance at James Storm's title by beating Richie Steamboat Truitt still found a way to AJ's mind.

April 23rd:Takedown: Christopher Daniels vs Gunner/ AJ Styles vs Richie Steamboat

Opening up the show tonight we have a huge match, Gunner taking on the last number one Contender for the QCW title, Christopher Daniels, in what is sure to be a great match. On commentary Maddox and Tessa run over the fact that this match was made to give Gunner something else to focus on besides revenge plots against Truitt Fields. “Bulletproof” kicks in and Gunner burst through the curtains instantly. He quickly bounds down to the ring and rolls in before looking out at the fans real quick before going to his corner and working his wrists, waiting. “Disposable Teens” starts up but after a few seconds of no Christopher Daniels the music stops. Gunner is asking the confused official about what’s happening when the two screens on either side of the entrance curtain fill with an image. Christopher Daniels is down in a heap in the parking lot moaning in pain. Gunner obviously knows something is up and exits the ring, following crew out to the lot. When he steps out the door he does it cautiously, looking around, ready for something. After checking on Daniels with the doc and crew he stands back up and resumes looking around. A sound from the left is head and he looks out that way for a long moment before relaxing just a bit. At that moment he’s blasted from behind in the back by Truitt Fields! He was apparently hiding behind a car or something. Gunner shoves him off into a nearby car though. He comes in to attack but Truitt grabs him by the trunks and pulls him down into the car, his head hitting the side. Truitt scrambles up, grabs Gunners head and swings it back into the car again before sliding his arm under Gunner’s, shuffling sideways and giving him the Killing Fields Uranage across the car’s hood. After that he darts off again after security pull him away.

Later in the night...

After Steamboat enters the ring AJ’s music starts but AJ foregoes his normal entrance and marches down before taking a mic. He completely ignores Richie and begins to call out James Storm’s crew, specifically Truitt over the incident earlier tonight With Christopher Daniels. Richie tries to calm Styles but AJ just tells him that now’s not the time and calls him a kid. At this point Steamboat gets his own mic and somewhat angrily tells AJ he’s no kid and he’s getting tired of people acting like he is. Richie says he wants Storm and co just as much as AJ anyone else but he knows that they aren’t just going to come out whenever and that winning here is the way to get his hands on Storm. AJ just brushes that off and goes back to calling out  Storm’s crew so Richie marches over and spins him around. Richie says that this is his chance and he’s not letting AJ’s pigheadedness take it away. At this point AJ shoots back rather harshly.

“Look kid. I know I said all the stuff the other day about anyone having a chance in this ring but let’s get real right now. Last time we were here I beat you. Nothing’s changed since then so I’m pretty sure I can do it again. Easily. So there’s no reason for you to be so fixated on this. Go sit down and let an adult handle his business.”

Richie after hearing this shoves AJ and in response AJ shoves him back. The shoving eventually ends with Steamboat open hand slapping Styles as hard as he can. AJ bends over, straightening his jaw for a second before ripping his coat off and telling the official to start the match

.......

After some replays we go back to the ring where both men have made it up from the mat. AJ staggers up with his hand on his neck and after a few second walks over and shakes Richie’s hand before pulling him into a hug. After some words between the two AJ raise Richie’s hand. Before we can soak in this moment too long James Storm and Truitt Fields charge the ring and attack and soon they’re joined by Brodus Clay. Tessa Blanchard points out that Truitt is actually banned from the arena and Lodi sarcastically but angrily points out how much good that’s done tonight. Ric Flair comes out to the stage and waves out Bob Holly and CW Anderson who run down and try to stop the carnage but get quickly taken down by Brodus and Truitt. After a few more moments of beatdown there’s cheers from the crowd as a limping and body-wrapped Gunner makes his way down with a metal rod in hand. He rolls in and gets a shot off on Brodus but just gets levels by a superkick from Storm. Storm directs traffic and makes Brodus hold Richie up and watch as Storm drops AJ with a High-Noon facebreaker and Truitt slaps his Rings of Saturn on Gunner until he goes limp. Storm gets in RIchies' face and promises him he won’t make it out of Rebellion before dropping him with a belt shot. This wild, wild night ends with Storm’s gang standing tall in the ring with AJ, Gunner and Richie all laid out around them.

Very soon after that AJ would be mention by Fields as he perepaared for his final bout with Gunner.

May 4th: YouTube

The day after the last Ignition before Rebellion a video from Truitt Fields makes it’s way online. Truitt is alone in the woods pacing back and forth. Truitt begins going off on everyone. The QCW fanbase for believing he’d run from Gunner. AJ Styles for mentioning him recently and again he goes in on Gunner blaming him for his(Truitt’s) homelessness and alcoholism.

“AJ Styles….AJ Styles is a good friend.  He stands up for his friends and helps the when he can. AJ Styles is what you should have been, Chad. He really is...but AJ Styles needs to realize this isn’t a place for friendship! If that’s what motivates him then he needs to stay awy from me and you. Christopher Daniels was a casualty of war. Our war! Anyone between us is going to get blown away! You can ask those referees about that and pretty soon you’ll be able to ask Chris Jericho about it. F**k Ric Flair and f**k AJ Styles. There’s no wrestling here and there’s no friendship. At Rebellion I put and end to all this and I get on with my new life and you end up out in the cold.”

Truitt spoke big and fought hard but at Rebellion Gunner put him down. Before he could get into it with Styles more texts from James Storm's phone were leaked onto Twitter that showed what The champion really thought of Fields and his plans.

As a result Fields would take a small amount of time off to sort out his living situation and reevaulate things only returning at the next month's Network event resuming tensions.

June 4th: Conflict City

After the break we go to the parking lot where the sun is just setting when suddenly a beat up looking pickup truck speeds in and slides to a stop. After a few moments out comes a serious looking Truitt Fields dressed in camo pants and no shirt. The Sadistic Soldier slams his door and cracks his neck before heading into the arena. Cameras inside catch up with him as does backstage interviewer Lodi who has to walk beside Fields asking his questions. Fields ignores him until he gets to the point and clearly asks why Fields is here. Fields grabs the mic and coldly says that he’s here to make sure James Storm doesn’t leave the building on his own two feet tonight. From off behind the camera we here a distant “Oh yeah?” in a southern accent. Truitt is suddenly shoved in the chest to the floor by that voice’s owner, AJ Styles. Styles asks who the hell Truitt is walking in here like he owns the place. He reminds truitt that they have issues. AJ hasn’t forgot their last match ending in a beatdown and he certainly hasn’t forgot what Fields did to Christopher Daniels. Truitt gets up and gets in AJ’s face and snarls that James Storm is the one to blame and that AJ best move out of his way. AJ kinda laughs at this and tells Truitt that he can’t blame James Storm for everything before hauling off and punching him, starting a fight. The two tangle up and go to the ground trading blows before security can pull them apart. Truitt breaks free, grabs a near by pipe and swings for AJ’s head but AJ ducks, security scatters a bit and he hits the wall. AJ runs him into some equipment cases, grabs the pipe and begins choking him against the wall with it as Truitt grabs and claws at AJ’s face.Security, this time with Bob Holly and CW Anderson in tow, grabs them and pulls them apart while Ric Flair, who just arrived on the scene wants them both out of the arena, an order security comply with.

After that Truitt would return to action 3 days later debuing a new version of his finishing move while commentary informed us of his upcomig second Takedown interview where he'd clear the air.

June 7th: Ignition: Truitt Fields vs Kahagas

In the main event we have ‘The Sadistic Soldier” Truitt Fields taking on “The Tokyo Monster” Kahagas. Despite being the smaller man it’s Truitt that plays the power game and throws the monster around and hits the harder strikes. Kahagas manages to fight off the Killing Fields three times. That is until Truitt takes him up for a backdrop and shifts into a super version of The Killing Fields(Backdrop into a Rock Bottom). A three count follows and commentary notes that you can see more of him on the upcoming episode of Takedown

The interview which occured days later would not go as planned.

June 11th: Takedown:Truitt Fiels interview by Maddox

One week later AJ Styles would make it clear what he wants.

June 18th:Takedown:AJ Styles vs George South Jr.

Before we go to break we go to a side interview area where AJ Styles and Richie Steamboat standby with Lodi at the mic. AJ addresses the fight between him and Truitt Fields on the last Takedown by challenging him to a match at Starrcade.

“You finally want to be a man and handle business? Fine, then I say meet me in that ring at Starrcade and get your ass kicked. “

He also promises to run through George South Jr coming up next.

.....

After that encounter AJ Styles would have some words for Fields the next week.

June 25th: Takedown

And in an exclusive for the countdown we have a response from Truitt Fields.

We're taken to a shot of Truitt Fields dressed in a greenworkout shirt and black jeans sat in a steel chair in what appears to be a child's room. It's clear from the walls and the state of the window behind him that this place isn't a nice or upscale as the apartment that James Storm previously set him up with but still, the room is filled with toys and all kinds of things a kid would enjoy. truitt sits in the chair rubbing his knuckles a bit before talking.

"I'm not one for words normally. I try to let my actions speak for me. Sometimes that doesn't quite workout so lets clear this up.  AJ Styles...

Truitt kinda twitches and cracks his knuckles

"AJ Styles, I'm going to put it straight. You are right. In that ring with the Souths and The Steamboats somebody needed to do something. But what you don't realize you dumb sack of crap is that that something didn't need to be you or I playing hero. If you or me would have went near Ricky Steamboat there's nothing good that would have happened. We needed to get out of the way I knew you weren't going to so I made you. I had a plan. I was going to call off this whole thing with you and I and go to Ric Flair and demand to be Richie's partner at Starrcade. But it seems like that doesn't need to happen now. So what we're left with is you and me. You sitting on your highhorse and bringing my child into this. AJ, I could sit here and tell you how that makes me feel but I know that you already know. Any father would. So I'm going to keep this simple. We're going to get into that ring at Starrcade and I'm going to beat the living hell out of you.

I have a Sansa media player with 8 gig shelf room. Had it for a few years now, and but still works fine though I had to take the rubber padding off the wheel because it was peeling off and making it slower. I get the most out of my shelf space by converting all my MP3s to a nice lean 128 kb/s (most people can't really tell the difference between 128 and anything higher anyway, 320 is overkill). I also use MP3Gain, a free program that can equalize MP3s to be roughly the same volume (with a +/- 1.5db margin of error from your desired baseline) without altering the file in any other way (including file size).

I probably won't be replacing it anytime soon because anything else I get will either be used only for music or ebooks anyway.

Sony Walkman. Not a badass retro one of course - an NWZ-S639F.

Pretty much just like mine but what is the icon above Pictures and beside radio? Mine has Shuffle there. The one across from settings is different too, I have playlists there.

I've got a donkeys years old iPod with a battery life of about 4 minutes, and an even older one with even less. The newer ones a 30gb thats completely full so I'm having to do the sad thing of whittling it down for new stuff.

Not looking to get a new one now though, battery died at the exact same time I upgraded my phone, so an HTC Desire S now accompanies me to the gym, or even better while jogging with Andy Murray yelling at me thanks to Adidas micoach. Or David Villa if I fancy learning Spanish at the same time as getting fit.

I just use my blackberry.

This.

Have you ever tried to phone a friend with an iPod?

No, have you ever tried to wash the dishes on the TV?

This.

It's not as if it has to do everything, it's not a Swiss Army knife. Almost all phones are MP3 players nowadays, doesn't stop people from buying them though.

The top-left one is what it calls "SensMe Channels". Essentially it auto-catagorises all of your songs into various 'themes' (Energetic, Relex, Upbeat, Pop Ballard, Lounge, Acoustic, Electronic, Classical, Extreme - plus one depending on the time of day, so Morning/Evening/etc., as well as generic 'Shuffle All'). It really can be silly what songs it puts where, of course.

The one to the right of Settings is 'Podcast Library'...for if I had podcasts...which I don't. If you meant the one in the bottom-right, that's simply 'Now Playing' (takes you to the song screen). 'Playlists' is merely amongst the various options within the central 'Music Library' section.
