So 'Freedom Planet' is fulfilling a lot of 'Sonic the Hedgehog'-type gameplay needs that have gone largely unfulfilled during the last 15 years of my life.

The story and voices are fairly cheesy and I can only chuckle at the main character's claim of being a dragon...

('Dragon'...suuuuure you are)

...But it's been good fun so far nonetheless.

Here's the dirt on Shovel Night. I really thought the "this is like an old nes game lol" genre was dead and buried (especially considering the number of games that soil its reputation), but let's call a spade a spade: I dig this game.

Shovel Knight is great. £10 well spent, I got about 6 hours out of it. Psyched to play it again when new characters come out, which isn't something I usually do with these games.
