Atouba gets three-match ban

Tottenham defender Timothee Atouba has been suspended for three matches after being found guilty of violent conduct.

Atouba elbowed Manchester City midfielder Joey Barton during Spurs' 2-1 victory on March 19.

He denied the charge yesterday after being given an extended period in which to respond due to international commitments with Cameroon.

However, a Football Association disciplinary commission hearing found him guilty of the charge today.

The suspension will take effect immediately, ruling Atouba out of Tottenham's trip to Birmingham tomorrow.

Just got back from Birmingham and yet again wasted chances and with 4 top class strikers we have got to score more goals .

Micheal Carrick wasnt impressive at all and the player that was going to set the world alight , the player that was the "next big thing " , the player that is the next Glenn Hoddle yet again has failed to make an impact in the game . Carrick has poor work rate coupled with his inabilty to stamp his authority on the game doesnt make him a superstar . Soccer Saturday pundit said earlier in the season he was the 'Ultimate Player' He most definatly isnt . he has failed to impress YET AGAIN ! .

On this seasons form Keano should be out but Defoe will be going and Mido is here on loan so in the summer we could be down to two strikers again . Keano should be in midfield as our playmaker . with a 4-3-1-2 and just giving Keane the ball and letting him work his magic

Yeah, he is a tricky player, but the problem is that Defoe is without doubt the first choice, but Jol likes to play a big man such as Kanoute or Mido along side him because Keane is small so Keane usually gets left on the bench and I think it would be fair to say that he is fourth choice right now.

Pamarot blow for Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt a considerable blow with the news that Noe Pamarot could face up to nine months on the sidelines.

The right back had to be removed after just 12 minutes of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Birmingham, and it was originally feared that the former Nice man would be out for over a month.

However further examinations have revealed that Pamarot tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, and will now face a much more extended spell in recovery.

"Noe has torn the anterior cruciate ligament on his right knee and he's probably looking at a reconstructive operation," club doctor Charlotte Cowie told the club's official website.

"The standard rehabilitation time after an injury like this is six to nine months."

The 25-year-old has featured frequently under both Jacques Santini and Martin Jol since his summer move, and his absence will be a blow for the North London outfit who are currently eyeing a strong end to the season to secure Uefa Cup football.

Jol voiced his regret at the turn of events, especially given Pamarot's successful assimilation into The Premiership.

"It's a blow for Noe and a blow for us," said Jol.

"It's unfortunate because he's adapted well to the English game, everyone at the club hopes he can get back as soon as possible."
