I like most of the MLS team names and some of them have changed their names to less more traditional football style ones Dallas Burn to FC Dallas, Kansas City Wizards to Sporting Kansas City, MetroStars to NY Red Bulls.

I like how MetroStars isn't a traditional name but Red Bulls is! :P

The funny thing about MLS are the supporters. I mean, their chants are more generic than EWR's PPV name suggestions.

Some irrevelant, but still transfer news for y'all.

Former brazilian international and Roma right-back Cicinho returns to his country to defend the side of Sport Recife.

PSG wing-back Ceará also came back to Brazil. He's agreed terms with Cruzeiro.

The only sensible names in the MLS are FC Dallas, Toronto FC and DC United. The rest are all varying degrees of silly.

Vancover Whitecaps are named for the Whitecap mountains. Which I don't think is too far removed from Nottingham Forrest.

It may not be traditional but Red Bull own a few teams so it's not an uncommon team name, TCO :P

Looking that way.... there would be an earthquake in a galaxy.

Is that possible?

Are Vasco de Gama actually a 16th century Portuguese explorer?

And Manchester couldn't be any less united as far as football goes.

Actually, a 15th century Portuguese explorer.

I'm not saying Brazil doesn't have weird names. There's a club named Vitória that is from the state of Bahia. The problem is, Vitória is the name of another state's capital. And Vitória means Victory in english.
