Ben Smith, BBC Sport - "Confirmation from Manchester United that three men who reportedly attempted to negotiate a deal to sign Athletic Bilboa midfielder Ander Herrera were not acting on behalf of the Premier League champions and were, for want of another word, imposters.
"Reports in Spain claim three men dressed in black suits and claiming to be United "representatives" spent an hour at the La Liga offices attempting to negotiate a deal. The move collapsed at the 11th hour."

Fellani improves our midfield, shame we didn't get Herrera as well. Kagawa is essentially our Ozil anyway and I'm sure he will get a look in soon enough, Moyes felt he wasn't match fit yet and didn't expect him to be until after international s. Let's not forget we also hung on to Rooney which didn't look likely at one point.

I think we're really gonna have to raise our game in January to match these guys, our Howson trolling has just been completely smashed!

I wouldn't be content with Kagawa as United's Ozil, he's a vastly inferior player.

Spanish football writer Andy West: "Contradictory reports within Spain on the Fabio Coentrao situation. Some media claiming the United loan bid came through, others saying it was too late. Similarly with Madrid's attempts to sign Siqueira from Granada, who would be Coentrao's replacement. There's a suspicion that Madrid have learned their attempts to get Siqueira didn't make it, in which case they would not want Coentrao to leave and therefore will attempt to argue the United bid was too late."

To summarize, Everton have sold Marouane Fellaini to Manchester United for a £27.5m fee, with Victor Anichebe heading to West Brom for a fee which could rise to £6m. Coming into Goodison are James McCarthy for £13m from Wigan and a pair of season long loan deals for Romelu Lukaku and Gareth Barry.

Shame about Long. Gedo is okay, but didn't overly impress in the Championship so will probably go missing a lot in the Premier League.

He's nothing without Jado.
