My last attempt at starting a EWB watch-a-long failed. So I had the idea of doing monthly themes. Maybe watching 8 movies a month? (2 every week). This might also help people doing the 365 movie challenge.

So our first theme would be watching films starring the late great: Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Hopefully a lot of people will join and we could do a theme/actor/director/actress/genre every month.

I was literally just thinking that I'd want to watch some PSH movies. Pirate Radio (aka The Boat That Rocked) would be a choice I'd put in there as well.

I'd include Punch-Drunk Love and Synecdoche, New York, maybe Moneyball too, he's not in THAT much of it but still. I may do this. There's so many good films to go through.

Lebowski is amazing of course. Magnolia was the first thing I saw him in. Very long film but from what I remember it WAS good, even with Tom Cruise in.

25th Hour is far and away my favorite movie he was in though...

Just a recommendation for next month: Matthew McConaughey? I remember us having a little debate about him in the What Did You Watch Today thread, so if we did him next month we can all see all the glorious stuff he was in as well as all the shit.

I'll probably be about as active as Jimmy. I'll watch a couple, especially this month, but outside of that I don't really have the ability to watch a ton but will try to contribute from time to time.
