Celebrity deaths don't usually phase me all that much but this one hurts. This sucks. He is my favourite baseball player of all time. I hate this.

Eric Hosmer had -7 DRS (Defensive Runs Saved) which ranked 14th out of 16 AL 1B to get at least 400 ABs.  His UZR rating was 12th out of 16.

He was, quite literally, one of the worst defensive 1B in the AL.  And yet he won a Gold Glove.

Re: Hosmer winning a Gold Glove. If the award was a fan vote, I'd say stop allowing Royals fans to vote on anything. (Because of the All-Star Game ballot voting incident) But it is still fishy as hell that he won the award. 

I expect Aaron Judge will win AL ROTY, but I'm not sure about the NL winner.....

17-year old Red Sox catching prospect Daniel Flores has passed away.  He was one of the most highly touted prospects in this past year's international pool and he signed a $3.1 million deal in July, becoming Boston's #5 ranked prospect in the process.

He traveled to Boston last week due to have severe back pain he was having examined and they found he had late-stage pancreatic cancer.  Absolutely horrible.
