  1. Dowd was desperate to give a penalty in the end in wasn't he? Probably softest penalty for shirt pulling you'll see, but the first might have been a pen so guess it's swings and roundabouts. Still it's funny to see the relief from the typically quiet Gooners. Think they might snatch the winner now.
  2. It's only 13 years since he had a mental breakdown because a non-league team said they had a chance of beating him in the FA Cup though That Blackburn team as great an achievement as it was to see them get there were a highly expensive team, granted it takes more than money to win the title but like Leeds they bankrolled beyond their means got their moment of glory (before humiliating themselves in Europe) and had to rebuild again. I'm not surprised Hodgson went but I thought he was going to hold on a little longer, after the Blackburn result I assumed we'd be hearing it before they were off the pitch (as happened at Spurs with Jol) but when he got away with that I thought he'd be remaining a little longer. I suppose they were just trying to sort out the financial terms of the contract. Don't know how much improvement they'll be able to make. The team look like they've got no interest in turning up and you'd need a good motivator to lift them, maybe Dalglish'll sort that out but I guess we'll see.
  3. Come on the nolongerboro! I'm still bitter about being suspended from school for being taunted about losing the replay at St James' park (only one person in the planet thought Shearer had scored that...) so hoping for vengence. Doubt it though as we're not playing too well, that said the 97/98 team were probably the worst Stevenage side I've seen so we could get lucky.
  4. I was doing a quest for the Great Khans and made the mistake of heading towards Cottonwood Cove with Boone which led to him starting a firefight and me getting incredibly unpopular. Thankfully me, Rex (w/Violettas' brain)amd him were able to hold our own in the Fort in an attempt to . Funnily enough addicted to Stimpaks now though! Is it possible to play as a gladiator at the camp? I've spoke to the chap who tells you the rules but as it didn't really fit into my plans for this character I haven't spent much time at the fort, except for the above brawl. One of the things I liked most about Oblivion was working as a gladiator in the arena.
  5. Isn't half the work already done? "You killed my father you bastard and you claim to only do all this out of vengence for the guy who killed your parents?". I know they semi-used that as the explanation for Dent turning into a villain but it's a way in without using too much over the middle film.
  6. YEESSS! Chance for vengence for nolongerboro. Fantastic draw that we were all crying for. They've drawn out some cracking ties so far these two.
  7. None. He played for Everton. Sorry, do I need to put more emoticons to highlight the blatant sarcasm?
  8. Fair play Liverpool, they almost stole a point To be fair it could've been a lot more goals each way. Three fouled up one-on-ones from Liverpool but two off the line, a missed penalty and one disallowed so it's not a complete mugging. How many years did Andy Gray play at Liverpool by the way? nice to see how loyal he is to his old club... Even Tyler had to laugh in the end.
  9. Comedic defending by Chelsea there. Terrible cock up by Alex and Carroll quick to react.
  10. Never quite understood the psychology behind it. I was a fairly lazy shit on both the football and rugby pitch before the knee injury but by just running around I'd end up warming up reasonably well no matter what conditions we played in. Since it doesn't effect performances I don't care how much they wrap up but I don't really understand the lengths some players seem to go to.
  11. We're sitting pretty comfortable so far with a nice goal to keep us from sweating too much. Hardly ever lose so let's hope we can keep from doing something stupid and blowing it. Defence not quite as stalwart as last couple of years.
  12. So they can go all the way up now? I remember a game or two ago the art tools would stop around shoulder height which would mean a silly gap, if I can go all the way though I'll run it through that way, certainly easier!
  13. Heard about a download that allows you to play down to something like Step 10 in the English leagues. Now to try and lead the mighty Godmanchester Rovers to the Premiership
  14. Silly CAW not allowing me to use two body accessories. Trying to do Irwin R Schyster since Ted Dibiase has turned face and the idea of dad and his mate teaching him a lesson came in as a story line idea to follow. I can either use the braces or a tie. For the moment I've gone with the braces since there should be less clipping if I'm going with the two. Thought about painting a tie but think that'd look awful. Gone with the Clothesline from Hell as a finisher as it's the closest I can get to the shoulder tackle/clothesline "Write off" as well. Stupid idea. In other news, my IC title holder... THE DRUID winning after outside interference from HBK.
  15. Let the speculation begin! All of them come across as being very toffish (especially Knightley with her one role...) so who's the classiest female Batman villain? Talia al Ghul?
  16. So now Man Yoo are stealing jokes from Stevenage/Peterborough? Shame on them!
  17. which would make it still the lowest ranked team to win it and as it wasn't a member of the football league that would normally render them non-league, it would be 20 years following Spurs' win that teams outside the league would be considered for expansion so that'd still make it non-league I believe...
  18. wish Spurs wouldn't deliberately give teams an advantage. Exciting TV but not good for my health
  19. Not for me, mildly pleased with that Haven't been that unpopular with neutrals since making Dalglish cry in the Geordie cup run! Spurs won it as a non-league side...
  20. Managed to pick this up new for ~£20 so once I've finished installing the new hard drive for the PS3 you'll be able to hear my hapless cries of "how on Earth do you do X" for the long term future.
  21. Presuming the Spurs that turn up are the Spurs who pretty much walked over Chelsea and Arsenal within a couple of days (almost a hat-trick with Man Yoo away but an off day and a couple of penalties the difference) they're capable of taking on anyone, especially at WHL. ... but then there's the possibility of the Spurs turning up who were 3-0 down inside, what, 30 minutes against YBB. Seriously, Spurs are less than 24 hours into the big time and people already talk about how they could beat Barca? :/ Just thought I'd bring this post back up because it came back to me on the shelf last night. Made the champions of Europe look like Barnet last night and we're still missing a few players. As I said at the start of the season, if we turn up at home we can beat anyone on the planet. There's still plenty of work to be done but providing we can keep a few key players fit and no hiccups with those returning, Spurs can potentially go a fair way in this tournament.
  22. Ah so your problem's with football on the whole and not those in charge. How many teams in Europe make profit and have no debt? One of which (Arsenal) had to go through being completely burassic in order to put together the massive money making stadium of which they now have and has a big part of removing those losses. Of course, their fans now moan about Wenger not spending money on those gaping holes in the side, some of them hilariously want him out because "it's not good enough". Pressure to continue buying and keeping up with the Jones' leads to most teams spending beyond their means in order to attempt to compete. If they don't compete then the fans demand changes (see Hull City, get two years in the top flight for first time in history less than a decade after scarce making Division three playoffs), this means that the chairmen are left with the option of running the club as a business and achieving relatively little in the short term and having fans moaning they won't spend the money OR giving managers the means to bring in whom they need to compete and taking the losses short term to build up, as Arsenal did and Chelsea have attempted to do (of course the resources Chelsea have helps to stabilise this short term loss). That 'pool fans feel they're fully entitled to trophies isn't the owners fault but would you really have tolerated a decade plus of obscurity like Villa and Spurs? The way some of you [general Liverpool fans] go on like it's your God given right to top the table and Europe, even going as far as to abuse Rafa until he went I somewhat doubt it.
  23. It amazes me that people can talk with so much authority on a subject that they're clearly completely clueless about. Not done a little reading on the matter then Rocky? Next to no research required to find some Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg articles to see that Hicks (current owner) is richer than Henry (head of NESV). Or are you trying to claim that Liverpool anagers haven't been allowed to aquire players? Either way interesting you read so much "authority" in one brief paragraph. I assume even The Sun is too wordy for you.
  24. Local media are getting ready to go mad now one of our boys got a gold in the mens gymnastics. Someone has to get extremely excited though since the people of Delhi have no intention of doing so. Unrelated but an excuse coming from the organisers anyway, do the commonwealths normally have this many of the bigger names pull out? A lot of events we seem to have sent third/fourth string competitors and I'm sure others are doing similar.
