  1. It was really bad. YBB didn't actually need to play well at all to get three up. First goal it comes off a chap offside and another one is in acres of space to clear up and the other two were piss poor defensive gaffs. It was humiliating that we decided not to try and draw or win at the end. Given that they played with everyone behind the ball due to slow build up play and that's exactly how they'll play next week it's not over (see also, Stoke, Wolves, Hull). Still think we can do it as we can't possibly play that bad again and the atmosphere the crowd will generate will drive us forward but not happy with the "yeah, we're happy to lose this" attitude at the end.
  2. Worst I've seen us play since probably Hoddle being in charge. YBB got three up without actually playing that well. Still got a goal at the right time. Redknapp to give them a bollocking and it's still feasible to turn it around. Fucking shambles though and we're lucky to still be in with even a half chance, 135 minutes yet, still plenty of time.
  3. At least now when my keeper spills the ball into his own net it's my fault rather than set animations getting in the way Makes it harder now though Career as Dave Bridges or Ashley Bayes
  4. it's been in for a while. Think it might even've been in while it was still champ man I remember the EPL drifting up in previous games, and Scotland getting a third birth based on the epicness of my Celtic side many years back.
  5. Exactly my thought, straight away 61/62 European Cup semi final. Almost as great as the season before what with doing the double but then we fell down just shy of the treble purely due to small squads in that day and age. Now we'd have pissed up. As for a trophy, it's inevitable the year ends in 1 'Arry to bring home the quadruple.
  6. more songs for RB3... Bob Marley & The Wailers - "Get Up, Stand Up" David Bowie - "Space Oddity" H.I.M. - "Killing Loneliness" INXS - "Need You Tonight" Mana - "Oye Mi Amor" Poni Hoax - "Antibodies" Rammstein - "Du Hast" Roxette - "The Look" Slipknot - "Before I Forget" Tokio Hotel - "Humanoid" War - "Low Rider"
  7. Apparently it's the biggest game in Spurs' history. Wish I knew why football only actually was invented in 1993...
  8. Cole was late and two footed so had to go for it. It was clumsy and I don't think there was any intent to harm the other lad but as an England international at one of "the big four" he's going to get extra defence for it then say Shawcross...
  9. Bad timing for Power Gig while Rock Band 3 introduces the same thing as well as real keyboard support. Name recognition means PG will be dead before it even launches. Except maybe in Europe where the HMX/MTV Games people seem to pretend you don't exist
  10. The Stansfield/Alford partnership completely tore Stevenage apart in our first cup final, worked brilliantly off eachother. He was a class act in the lower leagues and always popular with opposing clubs fans too. Of course, not important enough to gain more than a passing mention on things like Sky Sports News
  11. Rooney goes through this all the time. He'll be hopeless, usually due to a complete lack of discipline on his own part, for several games before bullying a couple of Mickey Mouse teams and getting us hyped up again before another barren spell when we need him most. While we were unlucky with the goal conceeded (well done Daws for at least TRYING to redeem yourself after that cock up) ultimately it took a decent holding striker up front without the annoymous Rooney and Lampard getting in Stevie G's way for us to really do anything. Not sure where this "all new England" was though. So, Gibbs to get more England appearences then Arsenal this season?
  12. Cudicini is now England qualified too isn't he? Well it's always worked for the rugby and cricket teams to go for the foreigners so no reason why we can't improve the football team by doing the same thing, mind you Hargreaves didn't really work out...
  13. Bad performance last night by Boro'. Starting off at snails pace and they were there for the taking last night. Unusual to see our defence being so inept since four out of four have been giving them too much space in the box for a free header/tap in from a cross. Showed far too much respect to Pompey and gave them too much room, they've still got a decent first 11 but once they pick up a knock or two I can see them being slaughtered.
  14. Given the whole purpose of Torchwood was designed to monitor extra terrestrial activity in Britain and most specifically the rift in Cardiff I can see it being a lot of half baked explanations in the first episode as to why. Sounds silly to keep Gwen involved but we'll see about how it all turns out next Summer.
  15. 'Arry is a genius. Slating the idea of a friendly in a run up to big games so Capello bottles picking them, shame about Daws though as the only top centre back who's fit it's risky. At best he'll only do a half. Some odd picks there but it's the time to experiment a little bit and giving nobody on the planet want's the game what better time to do so?
  16. I'm in for this one. Reasonablly confident in my side so hopefully things'll go well.
  17. a more funky shoutbox? I have fond memories of the one with Max on the forum merger experiment.

  18. Last season Stevenage did loads of sporting themed celebrations, can't find them on youtube but amongst them were golf (straight forward enough, pretending to put the ball into the corner flag), Baseball (imaginary ball pitched to scorer who hits it, caught by keeper who's mobbed by the defenders). There were a couple more too. Had to stop short of the "wrestling" celebration because the FA thought it was "getting too much". Rumour has it "outside interference" was planned by the substitutes.
  19. Aren't Spurs linked with everyone though? Can't work out where half of them would fit in to the current side either.
  20. Elton John had a wife too. There's loads of cases of gay men marrying women because it's the "right thing to do", given the long standing rumours about Campbell (given a little weight by his breakdown when a "gay England and top premiership defender" was about to be named) it wouldn't surprise me if it was a sham marriage. Surprised in this day and age people are still nervous of homosexuality in football, couldn't care less ultimately (anticipates the chants though).
  21. Howley it was. Agree with the idea he'd have retired anyway, the injury just helped give him the nudge and wouldn't really have been a better time to call it quits.
  22. Since we've had rugby union up... Which international scored a late match winning try in the 2003/2004 Heineken Cup Final for London Wasps? His last competetive try.
  23. Australia New Zealand South Africa Argentina England Scotland Ireland Wales France Fiji Samoa Canada (thank you Jonah Lomu Rugby!)
  24. After far too long away from this place had to hunt out this topic just to say, 14 years too late, "Come on the (no longer) Borough!". Hope to see us out of the blocks quick against the Mac Lads this weekend.
  25. I'm hoping to go, my brother screwed up his work schedule and is having hell getting the dat off, which means I may get lucky. Hope so since it looks like another good lineup.
