  1. Let the speculation begin! All of them come across as being very toffish (especially Knightley with her one role...) so who's the classiest female Batman villain? Talia al Ghul?
  2. So now Man Yoo are stealing jokes from Stevenage/Peterborough? Shame on them!
  3. which would make it still the lowest ranked team to win it and as it wasn't a member of the football league that would normally render them non-league, it would be 20 years following Spurs' win that teams outside the league would be considered for expansion so that'd still make it non-league I believe...
  4. wish Spurs wouldn't deliberately give teams an advantage. Exciting TV but not good for my health
  5. Not for me, mildly pleased with that Haven't been that unpopular with neutrals since making Dalglish cry in the Geordie cup run! Spurs won it as a non-league side...
  6. Managed to pick this up new for ~£20 so once I've finished installing the new hard drive for the PS3 you'll be able to hear my hapless cries of "how on Earth do you do X" for the long term future.
  7. Presuming the Spurs that turn up are the Spurs who pretty much walked over Chelsea and Arsenal within a couple of days (almost a hat-trick with Man Yoo away but an off day and a couple of penalties the difference) they're capable of taking on anyone, especially at WHL. ... but then there's the possibility of the Spurs turning up who were 3-0 down inside, what, 30 minutes against YBB. Seriously, Spurs are less than 24 hours into the big time and people already talk about how they could beat Barca? :/ Just thought I'd bring this post back up because it came back to me on the shelf last night. Made the champions of Europe look like Barnet last night and we're still missing a few players. As I said at the start of the season, if we turn up at home we can beat anyone on the planet. There's still plenty of work to be done but providing we can keep a few key players fit and no hiccups with those returning, Spurs can potentially go a fair way in this tournament.
  8. Ah so your problem's with football on the whole and not those in charge. How many teams in Europe make profit and have no debt? One of which (Arsenal) had to go through being completely burassic in order to put together the massive money making stadium of which they now have and has a big part of removing those losses. Of course, their fans now moan about Wenger not spending money on those gaping holes in the side, some of them hilariously want him out because "it's not good enough". Pressure to continue buying and keeping up with the Jones' leads to most teams spending beyond their means in order to attempt to compete. If they don't compete then the fans demand changes (see Hull City, get two years in the top flight for first time in history less than a decade after scarce making Division three playoffs), this means that the chairmen are left with the option of running the club as a business and achieving relatively little in the short term and having fans moaning they won't spend the money OR giving managers the means to bring in whom they need to compete and taking the losses short term to build up, as Arsenal did and Chelsea have attempted to do (of course the resources Chelsea have helps to stabilise this short term loss). That 'pool fans feel they're fully entitled to trophies isn't the owners fault but would you really have tolerated a decade plus of obscurity like Villa and Spurs? The way some of you [general Liverpool fans] go on like it's your God given right to top the table and Europe, even going as far as to abuse Rafa until he went I somewhat doubt it.
  9. It amazes me that people can talk with so much authority on a subject that they're clearly completely clueless about. Not done a little reading on the matter then Rocky? Next to no research required to find some Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg articles to see that Hicks (current owner) is richer than Henry (head of NESV). Or are you trying to claim that Liverpool anagers haven't been allowed to aquire players? Either way interesting you read so much "authority" in one brief paragraph. I assume even The Sun is too wordy for you.
  10. Local media are getting ready to go mad now one of our boys got a gold in the mens gymnastics. Someone has to get extremely excited though since the people of Delhi have no intention of doing so. Unrelated but an excuse coming from the organisers anyway, do the commonwealths normally have this many of the bigger names pull out? A lot of events we seem to have sent third/fourth string competitors and I'm sure others are doing similar.
  11. Given that Hicks is supposed to be richer than Henry I'm not entirely sure how much this is going to improve things with the situations at the club. Hicks/Gillet are clueless with regards to football but not afraid to invest money when it was asked for to buy players. Unless attitudes on the field I can't see just how much the new owners can really do. I just can't accept Liverpool are THAT bad and that the blame can be entirely laid on the shoulders of people who've given managers what they've asked for.
  12. Europe got three today and not been caught out in the others just yet. Either way tomorrow's shaping up to be interesting and the crowd won't be as strong in favour of Europe. Looking like a great finish though.
  13. Super tangerines, knew they'd have a go and the scousers are piss poor at the moment but can't believe they managed to get the three points.
  14. This morning I was reminded of Liverpools effort to sign a player off Sky Ones "Dream Team" and how they're not that bad yet. At the moment it's looking like the mighty Didier Baptiste would be a pretty useful signing
  15. Looked like a charge down in real time. Seeing it since a few times might not have been too much he can do but lift your arms most of the time it'll be given.
  16. Stupid double post. Please delete if you can, useless poxy Virgin
  17. Ridiculous game. He got the sending off as predicted but a third penalty now (though the ref didn't want to give it) and hopefully back to almost comfortable. The little twat who got Rafa sent off shouldn't even be on the pitch but at least it doesn't matter. Now we need to not let them back in again.
  18. With the blitz promotion its almost like cheating. In my first game of this I managed to smack the shit out of India, who had NO army at all, I literally just walked into their two cities. And then England who was on my border used a great person to steal my land! I had no idea you could do that, so I depleted most of my army taking half of their cities. Elizebeth is a bitch. Moral of the story, never trust a bald woman in a ginger wig.
  19. Watching Arsenal last night put the Carling Cup match into perspective. Fabianski, Djourou, Gibbs, Denilson, Wilshere and Rosicky all started last night in the Champions League and in the league cup game. Of the Spurs team that night probably only two of them will get in tonight (Bassong and Assou-Ekottu) and Bassong only because four/five people above him in the pecking order are out. Going forward hopefully Spurs should create plenty of chances but wouldn't trust a makeshift defence too much. Think we'll win still but can never trust us to do anything. If Twente play it tight and spoil then it might end up being one of those games where we'd struggle to score against Barnet...
  20. commentary has been hiliarious so far. Loved when the camera panned along some of the Spurs injured list and they were silent then... "Arsenal, of course, missing Cesc Fabregas with injury". To be honest at 1-0 I'm pleasantly surprised since for how bad they're playing Arsenal haven't had many chances. If they come out and give it a go (shoot Bentley for a starter, even if we have to start with 10 men ) they can get back in the game and maybe nick something. Will see how things go from here but deceptively tight.
  21. Amusing? It's pretty strong actually and much stronger than I expected. Should beat us quite comfortably on paper against our third/fourth string.
  22. yeah such a bad punishment for him. Should've been a one match league game because of course he'll happily take it for a game he'd rather not attend!
  23. Think he's just trying to deflect the negatives of Man Yoo almost blowing it again by defensive incompetence. It was definately a penalty and definately a free kick but he's going to throw the diver thing at him. I was more startled by how Nani managed to avoid a booking for his shenanigans. Man Yoo were easily the better side but they managed to implode at the back and almost bail out Liverpool and he's starting to get frustrated that they're a bit shaky and Chelski seem to be breezing through matches. See also - Wengers weekend rant.
  24. True, after acting for around 15 years I got my first principal singing role recently. I put a large amount of this down to singing on Rock Band, whether it's just through confidence I can actually tolerate hearing myself sing now. Another way for playing rhythm games is to look at them "old school". I can understand players having a feeling of acomplishment for playing *incredibly tough guitar song* on expert and getting 100%, which is basically playing the song in full but only essentially on one fret (Rock Band 3 will bring this up a few gears). I myself look at it as a score attack game, since I'm not any good on guitar or drums (hard-->expert on bass, expert vocals) I can get some satisfaction out of beating high scores, yeah I won't compete on the global charts but against myself pushing the scores up feels good. It's the same as people trying to complete *game X* at high speeds and playing for top scores. Let's be honest, if it wasn't for score attack style games, there'd probably not be an industry now, RB/Gh just play to those old points and add in the customisable sound track factor which makes it feel "new". For me I don't get the popularity of FPS' on console. I find things so much more enjoyable with mouse and keys. Maybe it's down to getting used to them long before pad based games. It's standard shooter fair but I've not really got the enjoyment out of them. I put the popularity of Halo down to it being a lot of gamers first experience of the things since as a game it's got nothing which I think is really special yet it's huge.
  25. Well in the end Spurs've got away with it. Sounds like it's touch and go if that penalty was in the box from what Absolute were saying but in the end turned round and three points. Bloody needed that as well since not got started at the Lane yet this season.
