  1. Awesome water, love the hills in the foreground, hills look nice and the hanging guy is a nice touch. Sky looks great too. HATE the background hills and the people on them, they just look bad IMO. Also, I notice you must have had some problems with the edges of each layer... the sky seems to overlap the background hills in certain areas, and the bottoms of the foreground hills look strangely unrealistic in areas where it's touching the water. Other then those gripes, I really like it. Best I've seen from you in a awhile.
  2. Alright folks, I'll need judges. Maximum of four, minimum of two.
  3. How much does that translate over in American? I might try to save up for it to get my own girlfriend, as she's a great artist with the mouse and her hands... she should definitely enjoy something like this.
  4. Admittedly, I had the idea planned out nicely in my head and it didn't come out as great as I wanted it looking back on it. To the people who've entered, keep in mind that you can change your graphic before the deadline. I'm going to edit the rules to make them a bit more clear for those who're mis-interpretting them. It's supposed to be a horror movie... not a cheesy low-budget film Legit horror movie based around Christmas... seriel killers dressed as Santa going into people's houses, etc. Get a wee bit more creative then what's been done so far. There, HOPEFULLY the rules are easily understood now. Sorry for the confusion everyone.
  5. I think my signature shows my favorite episode so far... loving it.
  6. I'm promoting doing something different here though. There were a few people who IMed me asking for me to change the Christmas theme year as they were sick of it, but I wanted to keep it somehow, so I did this. Just a fun little thing, I thought it'd prove to be interesting.
  7. DECEMBER CONTEST Theme: It's Christmas time and everyone's happy, jolly, and full of giving. Typically around this year, people are happy about the goings on in their lives. We've got a lot of feel-good movies, but what about a feel-bad one? A Christmastime horror story? Not one of those cheesy b-grade ones... a horror story. An actual thriller. Got the idea now? Okay, good... now make a movie poster for it, and make sure it's a good scary one. (Hopefully this is more clear) Restrictions: You must show your sources (Photos used, etc...link to'm.) Other then that... nothing. You do NOT have to use Christmas icons if you don't want, but make sure a reference to Christmas is involved ('Jack Frost' being the name of a serial killer during the winter would be one example) Size: No particular size needed, but it'd be appreciated if the poster wasn't too small or too large. Posters can be done in landscape or portrait style. Now then, for your do's and don'ts: DO... ...use a reliable host, as the contest won't be judged until AFTER the deadline, and any images that don't appear, or have been swallowed by the dreaded red X, cannot be judged. ...link to your entry, IF you feel that the poster size is too large to post. I think that, other then some of our slower users, we can all handle several graphics of moderate sizes being posted--however, for the love of God, if the graphic is large...don't post the picture, just post a link to it. DO NOT... ...enter more then once. You can make corrections on your graphic, you can replace it with a NEW graphic, but the fact is you only get ONE entry. However, all edits/replacements/corrections can only be made BEFORE deadline. If any graphics are caught changed post-deadline, the user will be disqualified. ...post about wanting to be a judge. I would rather people participate in the contest itself. I'll contact people about judging this thing when the time comes, and if I have a shortage of judges, I will ask someone in the contest if they'd be willing to withdraw and be a judge, simple as that.
  8. CONGRATULATIONS TO FLOWZEN KING! He's this month's graphic contest winner! By winning monthly contests, your 'rank' in the graphics forum is increased. At the end of the year, scores are calculated to determine EWB's "Graphic Designer of the Year". Unfortunately, this year will not count... however the scores from both November and December's contests will add on to next year's competition for the top three from both months. It pays to be active!
  9. Same, with the graphic after Matzat's the transition was too rough so I manipulated things a little. A few of the transitions weren't exact, but it was easily fixed.
  10. AJ: You're putting the mural together? I was doing that too XD I had the same problem with Matzat's, took some time fixing but like you said, the blackness helped.
  11. Alright, since only two judgements came in, here's what I'm doing folks. When AJ ran this, he normally had three judges alongside of him, but it usually delayed the next month's contest due to the wait for people to volunteer. So I'm imposing a monthly deadline on judges. For each contest, I will wait up until the 5th day of the month-after, before I just take the scores I have and go with them. Right now I have Ad and Biggz's scores...should anyone else want to judge, you have two days. Once I feel I have enough scores (Cap on judges is 5, myself included), or once the 5th of December roles around...results will be posted.
  12. PM me your scores when you do'm, Biggz...thanks.
  13. Dissapointing turnout...hopefully we'll have more entries next month. Alright folks, I need three judges...any volunteers?
  14. I'll fix what adgray did for him and then do my own based off his EDIT: Done
  15. They already decided on the rules...you didn't need to post these, lol
  16. Hmmm...that's actually not a bad idea. I'll see what I can work out for one.
  17. Let me guess...you duplicated the cut layers, guassian blurred the top one and then blended it into the one under it? That leaves a glow Next time, use the magic wand to select the area outside of the non-blurred cut, then select the blurred cut on the layer list and cut out the selected area. That gets rid of the outside glow, keeps it all contained in the cut.
  18. Just because it's simple doesn't mean it sucks On that note however, I suggest going with what Marsh said. With the simple layout you have, that would work perfectly with it. It has the potential to look really nice...just needs some better picture choices. Also, if you do do that...no glow. Please don't use glows on people--especially yellow glows over a black background. Looks tacky.
  19. Hahahahahaha, that's awesome man. Who's next?
  20. Fresh start it is then. I'll unpin this topic and start planning some more shit to do.
  21. It really is, that came out perfect Keefster. Gonna be hard for whoever's going to follow you up to top that.
  22. That's your taste, but I think Keith and I would agree that when it comes to a graphic mural, Sci-Fi would be more fun and creative then women. If we did women, it'd just get redundant. Sci-fi opens ALOT of doors for a mural, really. So, to be honest...Mudda was right. That's a big no-go there. EDIT: Alrighty, finished the starting graphic up. Thought I'd do something simple to start us off with--Planet 'X'. You can choose to go Horizontally or Vertically, Keefster.
