  1. I haven't declined it. I just asked for a week to think things over. I'm leaning toward yes, because they still have a shot at making the World Cup. And I need some more exposure if I'm ever going to get a decent job overseas. Cheers, though. (Y)
  2. Nigeria fired their manager during World Cup Qualifying, and I applied. I got the job, but I asked for a week to think it over. Then I saved and stopped for the night. Not sure I want to take over that squad or if I should just wait and see what positions open up after the World Cup. I think I saw someone say quite a lot of National coaching changes take place after the Cup, can anyone verify this?
  3. Don't suck? Seriously, though, I was horrid at first. All I've known for the last few years is MLS. So I started in the MLS, and constantly finished at the bottom of the league. So I started playing around with different formations, tried signing different styles of players, until something clicked. I don't spend anywhere near an hour before a game to prepare, and you shouldn't have to. I'm sure the more experienced players can give you some more advice, but I don't think there are one or two things that'll automatically give you a better outcome.
  4. It's official, the Draft will take place over three days starting next year: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4351601 I, personally, hate this idea. I look forward every year to sitting on my ass for a whole weekend while watching the draft. And now it's going to be starting on Thursday night. Lame.
  5. If you're going uncapped, would you want my strong safety?
  6. It's 2013, and I'm rooting against the United States in the 2014 World Cup Qualifying. They're fifth in the group with, I believe, two games to go. Hopefully they don't make it, and then I can take over. Question, though: If I go on vacation to wait for a particular job to open up, does my popularity and prestige as a manager go down if it is an extended period of time?
  7. Finished my fourth year as LA Galaxy coach last night. After being in first in points and goal differential all season, we were knocked out in the first round of the playoffs to Houston. I've had a few teams mention me about taking their spot overseas, but I don't want to leave a good thing. I have a youth movement going through LA right now and we seem to be pretty stacked for the next few seasons. I'm getting bored with the MLS, though.
  8. Good call. It had been too long since someone said his name.
  9. I have given up completely on Madden. I will be picking this up right after work, though.
  10. Yeah, but there are so many other things to take in account. Philip Rivers had LT to screenpass to the first five years of his career. John Elway didn't have a running back until his last three years. John Elway rulez! ~
  11. Looks like we may be the minority. I, too, think the World Series trophy is a cool design. It's not the best one, but it's not the worst, either.
  12. Contra and BattleToads. I'd much rather play them than a lot of what is out today.
  13. Not all hockey players are Canadian, you know. ^_^ And multi-cultralism, the teams that win the World Cup are all from the same country (more or less), but the Stanley Cup Champions are usually a team that's built with players from several different countries all over the world. And to answer the original question: Stanley Cup. It's just really neat knowing the name of every past champion is on the thing.
  14. As defending MLS Champions, we have won the Pan-Pacific Championship and are once again atop of the league with five wins, one loss, and five draws. I've brought in three Brazilian players and two English players. Silly Americans don't know how to stop them!
  15. Steve Yzerman, Brett Hull, Brian Leetch, and Luc Robitaille in for the 2009 Hall of Fame. Very impressive class, to say the least.
  16. I hate hate hate hate hate when the chairman goes over my head and accepts a bid for one of my players. We just won the MLS, so my mindset is to keep around as many players as possible, and beef up my reserves. No, no. My chairman accepts bids for three different players, all a vital piece to last season's championship team. And then he'll get sassy with me if we're not as good. Go screw yourself, good sir.
  17. Can honestly say I wasn't expecting to see us in the Semi-finals, like a lot of people. We have quite a bit of luck on our side. Hopefully it'll carry over into another victory, this time over Spain. Very, very, very doubtful, but after this weekend, I'll remain hopeful.
  18. Woohoo! After three seasons at DC United, we won the MLS Cup! Midway through the season one of my backup attacking midfielders began complaining about playtime. A week before the transfer deadline, Kansas City made me an offer for him, which would have given me their fourth round pick in the Supplemental Draft. I sent a counter offer asking for their fourth round and first round. They got back to me a day or two before deadline and accepted. Said midfielder didn't do squat in Kansas City, we won the MLS Cup and now have two first round picks in the upcoming Supplemental Draft. Neat. I think I only want to spend another season or two with United. Or I may just wait for the 2014 World Cup to be done, so I can try to get with a National team.
  19. Forgive the American, but what's the average cost of season tickets over there? When I see so many people talking about having season tickets, it blows my mind. But that's because of how insanely expensive season tickets for sports over here is. So would someone mind telling me, on average, what season ticket prices for your football games?
  20. And firing Mike Shanahan will go down as the worst franchise decision in Broncos history. I'm so damn pissed and we haven't even started losing yet.
  21. I was beating my friend 2-0 at the 80th minute. He swore he wouldn't play FIFA again, so I let up and he scored two goals to even it. The lucky bastard beat me in penalties. So I told him I wanted a rematch, because I was pissed. He thought I was lying when I said I let up on him. But I think he figured it out when I beat him 7-0 in our rematch. ^_^
  22. I just sent him a message asking if he'd just release me, since his money is so tight. We'll see how that goes.
  23. Teddy Mosby is a member of the Mafia. Starr, did you know that was my linebacker or was that just a coincidence? I would have bought you my tackle, but I signed with another team the day before you asked if anyone had one.
  24. http://11strong.com/player/view?player_id=7101 Someone sign me, please. I had three goals and two assists in eleven games. That's good...isn't it?
