  1. i watched either the UK or Aus version....I forget which....and thought it was pretty good. But they should either do all normal people are all celebrities, not a mix of both. I also hate it when people from reality shows, like Big Brother and The Bachelor/Bachelorette appear on other shows that aren't on their original network. The Challenge especially, because most (not all) of the Big Brother contestants have been asses.
  2. The first season of the US version had a mix of both. I assume season 2 will, as well. The winner was
  3. I stick with my teams. I'm a Cowboys fan, but throw *some* support to the Titans, but it has nothing to do with them moving to Tennessee. The Oilers were my favorite AFC team waaaaay back when Warren Moon was their QB. I just pull for the Cowboys more, and will be pulling for them whenever the two team play. On the flip side.... I used to go to Smokies (minor league baseball) games all the time when they were here in Knoxville, but in 2000, they moved to Sevier County. I went to one of their last few games here before they left Knoxville, but I haven't been to a game since. While they were here in Knoxville, they were a White Sox affiliate (Tony LaRussa actually coached them for a while), then a Blue Jays one. That's going back to at least the late 60s, if I remember right. Since they moved, they've been affiliates of at least 5 different teams. I don't know or care what team they're with right now, and they can lose all their games as far as I am concerned. BUT.....we're getting the team back in 2025, I'll go back to supporting them, and I already plan on going to a few games.
  4. The only thing I liked about Scream 5:
  5. It's rather shitty that a team could even do that. I wish that there was a rule that once the postseason hits, you can't sign anyone unless its to replace an injured player. And it has to be an injured starter.
  6. I'm trying to figure out if its a giant cd player, or a giant videogame console.
  7. Heart failure and pneumonia. Would have been 88 on the 29th. Besides the two movies I mentioned, I also recommend To Live And Die In L.A.
  8. Go watch the sequel ASAP. John Frankenheimer directed it instead of William Friedkin (who sadly died yesterday), but its a a continuation of the story. Completely new cast, except for Hackman and Rey. But avoid the tv movie with Ed O'Neill. It was a busted tv pilot, and its surreal seing the actor best known as Al Bundy play Doyle.
  9. That's good. Because that was absolutely no way for a VFL to behave.
  10. So, once the season starts, who do you think will whine first: Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban, or....Ohio State fans?
  11. You're right. I wasn't thinking.
  12. One of the radio stations here did a "Stong women" themed show for around 4 hours one day a few months ago, and played Amy Winehouse and Whitney Houston. Now, they very well could have, because I did not listen to the full show, but I didn't hear any Sinead. And I'd consider her stronger than them, considering what she's gone through.
  13. Well, what do you expect from fans whose team's season is usually over by July (at the latest)?
  14. Jeremy Pruitt finally has a new coaching gig: He's coaching high school football in Alabama! Oh, and some delusional Oklahoma fans are already talking smack about the SEC, even though they don't play there until next year. There's a graphic on Facebook showing that covered wagon they bring on the field that actually says "Hey, SEC, your daddy is coming!". I think they've confused "daddy" with "bitch". 6-7 last year, no clue this year, but I'm thinking 4 wins max next. Texas will be more successful than Oklahoma in the SEC.
  15. Not Mattel, but a Hungry Hungry Hippos movie has been in the works for ages. Hopefully it never sees the light of day.....or is a horror flick. (Hippos are more responsible for human deaths than any other animal in Africa.)
  16. I watched that episode of SNL when it originally aired, and wasn't it Madonna who later tore up a picture of her after performing?
  17. I said "possible" scenario, but lets change that to "possible AND reasonable". (So lets make that robot Putins, thank you very much.) And my name is one word. I just spell it with a capital M because it looks better that way.
  18. Can't watch it because we dropped cable and don't get Starz (though we could through Prime, if we realy wanted to. We get Showtime through Paramount +), but I heard she did the theme for the latest season of Outlander. For those unaware, the Outlander theme is just The Skye Boat Song with a woman singing it (did a male-female duet one season, I believe), so "Lad|" is changed to "Lass" in the lyrics. And they do a new version each season. Skye Boat Song is a great song, but surprisingly I don't like Rod Stewart's version at all. I really like Rod Stewart. Did I hear correctly that she converted to Islam several years ago?
  19. The first country concert I ever went to was Kenny Chesney (with a then unknown Brad Paisley as one of the opening acts) back in 1999 or 2000, and She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy is my jam. He peformed it twice. Second time as the encore. (Band was breaking in a new fiddle player, and they aced it.) I still have the Kenny Chesney cap I bought, and wear it when I'm not in the mood to wear a sports team cap or driver hat, and one with mesh is a no-go due to possible rain. The other opening act was a group called Yankee Gray, who didn't last long. They had mic issues during their part of the show.
  20. Chevalier, via Hulu. Great movie, and the lead is an American who pulls off a somewhat convincing accent (why they're using British accents in a movie about France is beyond me....). Good movie, based on a true story, but it does take some dramatic license. For instance, the opening scene did not happen, but Bologne and Mozart did know each other. I give it a 4.5 out of 5. And if anyone who has seen it knows what the song is that is playing at the end (before the end credits) is, please let me know.
  21. Nah. The one about drinking is much much better.
  22. I was talking about more traditional Irish music, like the Chieftains. You need more Blake Shelton. I recommend you check out Ol Red, Sangria, Austin, Sure Be Cool If You Did, and two songs he did with Trace Adkins, Hillbilly Bone and Hell Right. Taylor did an episode of CMT Crossroads, where she performed with my favorite 80's band (and still one of my favorites) Def Leppard. Love Story actually made a quite good duet. But Taylor trying to do Pour Some Sugar On Me, was....weird. |"The do you take sugar? One lump or two?!" part which is supposed to be loud sounded normal range. My 22 year old stepson, who listens mainly to hip-hop, really likes Luke Combs. I've caught him singing to Beautiful Crazy. His grandmother and sister took him to a Luke Bryan concert several years ago.
  23. Kris Kristofferson is a Rhodes Scholar. He actually started writing while in England. Speaking of Steve Earle, Copperhead Road is the first cassette single (yes, I am that old) that I ever bought. I need to listen to more of Townes Van Zandt. Didn't know until recently that Pancho & Lefty was originally done by him, not Willie and Merle. Have also been listening to a lot of country rap lately. Colt Ford and Moonshine Bandits mostly, but also some Demun Jones, Lacs and others. Moonshine Bandits do some crossover stuff. They'd have Corey Taylor, David Allan Coe and Buckcherry on some of their songs. Colt Ford and some singer I've never heard of did a cover of Linkin Park's In The End, which I seriously recommend.
