  1. I think we should stop guys. This many puns clearly Angers Stoker.
  2. The only reason I say it works better is because they've clearly already seen the value that including legendary former players has, especially when it comes to Ultimate Team, and the timelessness/lack of depth in FIFA/Pro Evo games means that it doesn't matter if you have a 23 year old Ronaldinho mixing it up with present day Mbappe. Football Manager requires the simulation of the entire football industry, as well as the progression of time, so it's a lot more difficult to present in a realistic manner.
  3. I think this works better for FIFA and/or Pro Evo but I'd love a one-off "throwback" game. Take one of the classic databases and rebuild it within the FM20 game engine. There's clearly demand for it, when you think about how many fan-made historical databases get made, except they're limited by hard coded parts of the game.
  4. Oh man, this was a good game. I platinumed it in about three days after getting it for Xmas, but it was great to play and learn some of the history of Wrestlemania. Pretty sure it was also my first platinum trophy.
  5. Anyone fancy joining my mafia game as a replacement player?

    1. MalaCloudy Black

      MalaCloudy Black

Can I play two roles at once? :shifty:

  6. I think I'd really like it if the two accent colours just took up the space as the outermost one. They just look oversized there.
  7. You mean it isn't already being done from Clattenburg's living room?
  8. @It's Pronounced Zoom-E Fulham dropping like that is interesting. In my SAF challenge with Norwich they ended up becoming my main rivals (alongside Man City) for a few years, almost beating me to the league title a couple of times. I know they were managed by Mourinho for a bit and they were paying most of their players ridiculous wages for FM12, like £120-£160k for half their first XI.
  9. Does Aguero also have French citizenship that I was hereto unaware of? @metalman
  10. Drogba wouldn't be eligible for a European imports list. Cech is a great shout though and highlights the complete lack of goalkeepers on this list. Surely at least one of the goalkeepers on their previous lists are more deserving of a place than Silva, Kante, or Hazard? Zola was awesome but I could only see him just about cracking the top 20.
  11. I just finished a 10 year challenge as Portsmouth on FM12 (starting bottom of the Championship on -10pts due to administration) where I won the Premier League on the final day of the 10th season, despite losing 4-3 to Everton, because Chelsea lost 2-1 against Swansea. It looks like I get to end the save by taking England into the 2021 Confederations Cup after they won the 2018 World Cup under Alan Curbishley, who subsequently resigned for some reason.
  12. I feel like I'm just piling in but Max Aarons and Harry Kane both played for Norwich xD
  13. Van Nistelrooy feels like the biggest omission from this top 10, for me. It might just be another example of the impression that early 00s Man Utd had on me, but the man scored 20+ goals in 4 out of his 5 seasons in English football and he played less than half a season's worth of games in the one season he didn't. As an example, without his goals in the 01/02 and 02/03 seasons, Utd would've finished 6th and 4th instead of 3rd and 1st.
  14. It was funny when I played FM20 while it was free, being the Chelsea manager meant I got the first achievement for career earnings around the same time that the first season began.
  15. GK: Nick Pope (Charlton, Harrow, Welling, Cambridge Utd, York, Bury, Burnley) RB: Gareth Southgate (Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, Middlesbrough) LB: Leighton Baines (Wigan, Everton) CB: Tony Adams (Arsenal) CB: Ledley King (Spurs) RM: Steven Gerrard (Liverpool, LA Galaxy) LM: Jadon Sancho (Dortmund) CM: Paul Scholes (Man Utd) CM: Frank Lampard (West Ham, Swansea, Chelsea, Man City, New York City) ST: Alan Shearer (Southampton, Blackburn, Newcastle) ST: Jamie Vardy (FC Halifax, Fleetwood, Leicester) Vinnie Jones' lone season at Chelsea (and technically being Welsh ) stopped me from using my planned 4-3-3 formation, which has led to a few players being slightly out of position. Grant Holt (ST), Jamie Carragher (LB), and Tony Hibbert (RB) were all part of that team before I failed to find a suitable central midfielder, although Holt did also potentially clash with Vardy if phoenix clubs count as the same team as their predecessors. I guess playing Ledley King as a defensive midfielder would allow the original plan to work if I could find a replacement for Holt or Southgate (who both played for Villa).
  16. I played them out of order because my tabs opened funnily. I got 2/10, 2/10, 3/10, 0/10, all rated as Swindon. The only one that was more than an uneducated guess was I reckon I'd do a lot better at a 00s version on account of actually having memories from that decade.
  17. Keep Jamil Adam as long as possible if you can, he can single handedly get you up to League 1 promotion contender over the course of about 5 seasons. Enzo Scorza, for the San Marino challenge, and Leigh Griffiths, for a Premier League relegation / Championship promotion dog fight, are only other two other players I've ever had get near Adam's level of domination.
  18. Want to join the ongoing mafia game? PM me!

  19. They should do a follow up: Top 10 Worst Premier League Goalkeepers.
  20. I've found there are just as many player interaction quirks that work in your favour. Exhibit A: Apzi: Boss, Jorginho has been making some noise about wanting a new contract. Me: Try to talk him down for me please, Dave. Azpi: Alright, I'll do my best. *Apzi was unable to persuade Jorginho to drop the issue* Jorginho: I heard you want to talk to me? Me: Yes, Dave told me you want a new contract. Jorginho: That's right, I think my strong performances warrant a new contract. Me: Look, you're an important player but I'm not sure I can justify it. Jorginho: Aww, you think I'm important? I'll just be going then. Me: ...right. Exhibit B is much shorter and involves going straight the concerned player, only for them to tell you that they appreciate you talking to them and saying that's all they wanted. Damn attention whores
  21. I will admit that Barthez may be my rose-tinted glasses talking as his tenure at Man Utd coincides with my earliest memories of football.
  22. 2010 to 2016 Joe Hart is definitely deserving of a spot in that top 10. Man City didn't finish lower than 4th during that time, and even that was Hart's final season there. I think his career from Euro 2016 onward muddies his legacy a lot. Not sure James and Given deserve spots tbh. Swap them out for Hart and Fabien Barthez and it looks a lot better. Alisson undoubtedly will be considered one of the Premier League's greatest keepers but he hasn't been there long enough yet. I'm not sure who to replace him with other than it probably being someone from this list.
  23. Civ VI: Platinum Edition is currently on sale at a 71% discount on Steam, although still £42. Is it worth it?
  24. Some fun facts about this guy's YouTube channel the marketing tool extension I have on my browser. It estimates that his channel makes somewhere between $254 and $4.1k per month. His videos average 23,874 daily views, with just over 1 million views in the last 30 days and 31.2 million all-time views across ~1740 videos.
