  1. I think Milner gets underrated for this exact reason, although he's certainly become more universally loved in the twilight of his career. Henderson might not get the same plaudits as Gerrard and Lampard, but at least he's better/more consistent than Ross Barkley.
  2. It looks like one of those cheap unbranded kits with the logos ironed onto it. Maybe Sports Direct just had some excess product they wanted to shift and this was a convenient use for the striped shirts.
  3. Now this is a man who deserves to have a squad number retired for him: https://www.thenonleaguefootballpaper.com/latest-news/step-five-and-below/17046/700-up-legendary-striker-mark-bellingham-on-reaching-the-amazing-milestone/
  4. Imagine if we had a better keeper all season. We could've finished... 3rd?
  5. Just unearthed this gem on my longstanding FM12 San Marino Challenge save: It's 2030 and San Marino still haven't ever qualified for an international tournament, although I did manage to finish 4th of 6 in the 2028 World Cup qualifiers.
  6. Kepa to anyone who wants him, Oblak to Chelsea, De Gea back to Atletico, Henderson to stay at Man Utd is an arrangement I would accept.
  7. It's a fantastic project but, with all of the minor issues, I've not actually put much time into the 99/00 database. I think I got to the end of September with a Chelsea save before I gave up thanks to the Champions League registration glitch and losing Poyet, my only attacking midfielder, and Goldbaek, my only right midfielder, until Xmas thanks to injuries. That wouldn't necessarily have been a problem if I could've brought some more players in, but the real life 2019 transfer ban was still in effect as of the initial launch. Thankfully fixing that is one of their priorities.
  8. Villa's last game is against West Ham so they might be able to grab a win. All they need to do is get a better result against Arsenal tonight than Watford do next Sunday.
  9. I would much rather Ake come back to Stamford Bridge than let him go to Manchester.
  10. Norwich are also apparently on their longest league losing streak ever, which is now nine games in a row. And does this mean Leeds will be 2021/22 Premier League winners?
  11. The shattered look would've made sense if their European football ban had been upheld. Might as well just cover it in little £ signs now.
  12. Not sure if it was decent Norwich defending or Chelsea being naff that kept things level for so long. Norwich are unlucky to have conceded so close to half time but I'll certainly take it.
  13. If $25m a year is a lot then that probably helps. I have no idea how contracts in the NFL work, mind, even contemporary football wages inflated beyond my understanding until I started playing FM20.
  14. Hoping that Norwich roll over and give Chelsea an easy win tonight. Chelsea have a single point more than Leicester and Man Utd but a much worse goal difference. Similar goals scored but that leaky defence has clearly made its mark (hell, it's the most goals conceded in the top half). Three really is the magic number because winning the last three games is the only way to guarantee Champions League football this year, without one of the others also dropping points. Did I mention that the other two games are against Liverpool and Wolves? EDIT - Thank god, Leicester and Man Utd play each other on the final day.
  15. I remember the Washington team name being part of the post-war Native Americans module debates while I was at university. I think it was the only debate where the entire class, even my contrarian friend who only half-ironically supported Romney, Trump, Farage, et. al, agreed on an issue. Glad to see the name finally being changed.
  16. All I can say is I'm glad I didn't bother watching.
  17. 15-0 to Norwich as Pukki claims the Golden Boot.
  18. The date is hard coded; in my opinion having the game set 20/40/60 years back is the best we'll ever get without SI getting involved in the process. I can confirm that the 2020 Euros is being hosted by Belgium and the Netherlands, as well as the 2022 World Cup by Japan and South Korea. However, Gianfranco Zola can't be assigned the number 25 at Chelsea on account of it being retired in his own honour
  19. Does the saves having the In-Game Editor enabled help remedy things like that? I haven't actually had a chance to download it myself yet. Offering the four combinations of transfer windows and the In-Game Editor on or off is a pretty neat little touch.
  20. The best thing is, you can still use the same tactics as real life England if you want to. You'll probably find similar levels of success...
  21. "No long term plans" "Wants to win a trophy"
  22. Interesting of UEFA to book a three way match between two Wolves teams and Olympiacos.
  23. No, that's the one big thing they couldn't change apparently. Making the database for exactly 20 seasons earlier eliminates most of the issues surrounding it though; international tournaments still come up at the right intervals (though I'm not sure if hosts have been altered) so Rooney is still 18 for Euro 2004/2024, for example. You effectively just have to make a mental note to subtract 20 years from the in-game date, player/staff birthdays, and the like.
  24. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1utnM0SaIl8ssVJEVo35D2HnnvYk-gTUy The 99-00 database for FM20. Playable leagues from England, Scotland, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Norway, Belgium, Netherlands, and the United States. Fairly comprehensive kits and face packs too. Feedback is being encouraged as its officially still considered a beta; this link will get you into their Discord for 24 hours after this post to make suggestions directly.
