  1. Seems like an odd move. I could've seen him playing a significant role in the Championship but, at 36, I'm not sure what he has to offer to a Premier League side. I've already said it but Reguilon would very much be my first-choice to replace Marcos Alonso at Chelsea.
  2. Winning the Europa League would be an amazing thing if I were a Spurs fan. Chelsea winning it last year was pretty damn satisfying in and of itself.
  3. The way Aubameyang ended that interview felt very similar to Hazard's post-Europa League interview last year.
  4. Taylor does seem to have been a bit laissez faire in handing out the cards, especially to Chelsea.
  5. It's always irked me how dirty a player Azpilicueta is.
  6. Spotify has given me a Daily Mix playlist based on Flogging Molly, New Found Glory, and... Cascada. It's literally a punk/ska/pop punk playlist interspersed with Cascada songs and She's So Lovely by Scouting for Girls. I love it.
  7. Doing the San Marino Challenge on FM12. Not sure how far I got on the first attempt but I was definitely in Serie A when my laptop broke, with a promising young Sammarinese striker challenging for the first team. I've still got the second attempted save, which is at 2030 with the club as multiple time Serie A winners and the national team finally starting to show signs of challenging for tournament qualification. My third attempt was started last year as I actually really enjoy using the players who I know I can rise up from Serie C2 with. An unexpected third consecutive promotion has us sitting dead last in Serie A just into the new year with no hope of survival, so I'm thinking of starting a fourth and actively trying to avoid the Serie B promotion spots in the third season while I build my team up enough to win promotion in the fourth season and actually stand a chance of staying up the season after that.
  8. It just seems like (most of the time) Norwich are too good for the Championship but nowhere near good enough for the Premier League. The latter comes from inadequate investment in better players whenever they go up. I can't explain why they've managed to get promoted so often, beyond having an above averagely sized and incredibly dedicated fan base on account of being the only league team in Norfolk (for now, come on King's Lynn). They weren't even favourites to go up last year, let alone win the league, and then barely changed that squad despite the massive jump in opposition quality. It's no wonder they've gone straight back down and I'm not surprised that they've lost every game since crowds stopped being a thing.
  9. Not a something many people would expect to drop on Netflix, I'm sure.
  10. I have to agree. He might be a consistent goalscorer in Serie A but he has Ciro credibility in a league as competitive as the Prem.
  11. Who's top goalscorer so far?
  12. Plus NBC has the big selling point of the Two Robbies (That's Robbies Earle and Mustoe in the studio for those of you who haven't ever watched NBC coverage)
  13. @metalman @Marcos Apparently Kilmarnock are still short of an LB for this database (unless Gus MacPherson was known to play there). He also has a Kevin McGowne in the preliminary squad, who was effectively instead of Stuart Findlay based on Metalman's defence.
  14. It might be a bit of FM20 and local bias but would Ben Godfrey be a suitable solution? He's young, decently built, and I doubt would cost more than £60m even with the English player tax added onto his value.
  15. Daniel Farke has apparently said he'd only consider "silly money" offers for the likes of Aarons, Godfrey, Cantwell, and Buendia. Yes please to both of these.
  16. That was because I was expecting Makelele to make the Real Madrid team, whereas Mikel wouldn't fit anywhere other than Chelsea. Turns out I was wrong and the database creator did intend to put Makelele at Chelsea, but this was my team (based on the rules provided) so I left it that way, and left Pedro in even though he'll most likely be in the Barca side. Makelele would 100% be in the side if it were an all-time Chelsea team in isolation.
  17. Milner is a very interesting one as I don't even think of him as former Leeds or Newcastle player, only Villa, Man City, and Liverpool spring to mind for him. Bellamy should probably be at Norwich or Cardiff if he doesn't make the Newcastle team.
  18. Yeah I figured it might be more difficult for some teams, Leeds being possibly the hardest to judge for the database restrictions is why I figured it wasn't quite as fun a challenge to come up with a workable squad. Seeing a couple of current players in there sounds promising for the future, as someone who hasn't followed what Leeds are doing outside of the Prem/when Norwich aren't playing them. 19. I've been chatting with a guy who's making an FM20 database featuring teams' all-time* best squads since 1992. That means a Man Utd side featuring Peter Schmeichel and Wayne Rooney, a Chelsea with Gianfranco Zola and Eden Hazard, or a Man City with Shaun Goater and Sergio Aguero. *The main issue he's facing is balancing teams, i.e. making sure every team has enough players for each position and all the big name players are somewhere. To help, I provided input on Chelsea and Norwich, and had a stab at Ipswich with assistance from my girlfriend. When asked if I wanted to help with any other teams I didn't think I was familiar enough with any more to truly help. But, it occurred to me that this is the kind of thing we do a lot, much like the "Best XI of your lifetime" or "Best XI with just one player from each club", and that EWB has a healthy selection of supporters of different teams. There are a few caveats for the database itself but don't let them limit you; it was a fairly fun exercise but also challenging trying to make it a balanced squad. I went for 3 keepers, 9 defenders, 9 midfielders/wingers, and 4 strikers. I've included the requirements for the database if you want to really challenge yourself/help make this database better. Here's the Twitter account for the project: https://twitter.com/LegendsofFootb6 This was my attempt at an all-time Chelsea squad:
  20. My missus said its about 10-12 extra hours of gameplay and generally decent.
  21. Not sure Giroud meant to knock it on for himself but I doubt he, or anyone in blue (except Leicester fans), will be complaining about it.
  22. This is why I watched the 2014 World Cup Final on Telemundo while I was in California; Javier Zanetti commentating in Spanish was a lot more enjoyable an experience. Not even Michael Ballack being in the studio could make McManaman's commentary worthwhile.
  23. It worries me how much Wolves are breaking through on their right. Alonso leaves me void of all confidence that Chelsea can actually win this game, even with Kepa dropped.
  24. If Real Madrid are continuing their flash sale of players I'd very much like to see Reguilon replace Alonso at Chelsea. I signed him on a free transfer on my FM20 game and he ended up being a solid hand in my title-winning second season.
