  1. And, to add to metalman's point, those two leagues presumably make a lot more TV money than the likes of Port Vale to offset any losses they might make from not having a betting company as a sponsor. Bring back sponsors like Autoglass and JVC!
  2. Had a go at making a custom San Marino Calcio logo and wasn't sure where else to get feedback. Thoughts? The original is below for reference.
  3. Disappointed with the decision but I can't say I'm surprised in the slightest. There almost certainly isn't time for any new incoming manager, permanent or temporary, to use the January transfer window, which leaves all hope resting on whoever is brought in to sharpen up the existing squad. I don't really have an opinion on Tuchel but I think the fact that any noteworthy manager is prepared to take on the poisoned chalice is enough to be satisfied with.
  4. An interesting read about why Premier League (or any other) clubs probably shouldn't sack managers half way through a season. https://www.sologic.com/en-us/resources/blog/which-boss-are-you-premier-league-or-nfl
  5. Danny Drinkwater is also b̶e̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶e̶x̶i̶l̶e̶d̶ going to Turkey, joining mid-table Kasimpasa on loan for the rest of the season. https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2021/01/18/drinkwater-departs-on-loan
  6. Steve Bruce is the Perennially Shit ManagerTM above all others that surprises me in not having managed Norwich, given his time here as a player. The thought occurred to me that he may just not have been available at any point when Norwich had a vacancy, but the opportunities were right there in 2000 and 2012; he literally signed with Hull one day after Chris Hughton replaced Paul Lambert.
  7. Agreed, players contracts typically last for 2-5 years so that's more than enough buffer for them to decide "do I want to keep doing this?", before re-signing if they do or leaving on a free if they don't.
  8. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed III would be great because I also really enjoyed Star Wars Bounty Hunter, a Boba Fett or Mandalorian-based sequel, or even a flat out remake, for that would be grand.
  9. I would actually do the opposite of the typical FM move there and keep Aubameyang for as long as possible. He's a proven goalscorer and can hopefully maintain a sense of continuity as the rest of the team is rebuilt; Jamie Vardy has shown that a veteran striker can still deliver in the Premier League and Arsenal don't want to go the Chelsea route of bringing in a young/peak star striker for silly money, just for them to underperform and find themselves stuck in this rut.
  10. I think every MLS team should be owned by a former Man Utd and/or Real Madrid player. Get Ruud van Nistelrooy in on this, Cristiano Ronaldo too when he's finally finished tearing up Serie A.
  11. Is it not a natural thing to happen when there's only one team with a city's name in the context of discussion, i.e. Premier League football? Norwich United are a thing, albeit in the 9th tier, but Norwich seems to be near-universal parlance for the (much) larger Norwich City. I know that's an extreme example but does the same thing not happen with the Bristols and Nottinghams on occasion, or Man Utd when Man City were dipping into lower leagues? It's totally understandable to use the full name for clarity when United and Wednesday are in the same league. I could also see Wednesday still being used for the other team if the situations were reversed, simply because of how unique it is.
  12. Similarly, I find it surprising that none of these managers have come to Norwich. Equally I wouldn't be able to identify the last two Norwich managers (Neil Adams and Alex Neil) out of a lineup if I tried.
  13. ¿Qué opinas de la peatonalización del centro de la ciudad de Norwich?
  14. I'll echo the Houllier era and Hyypia/Dudek love, if I had to pick a favourite Liverpool player it'd be one of those two.
  15. That's a fair point, I just don't see him ever recouping the amount we paid for him. I can see him returning to Spain or going to China/Turkey too, perhaps PSG as a long term replacement for Keylor Navas.
  16. I would quite like to ship out Kepa, Rudiger, and one of Emerson or Marcos Alonso permanently. Gilmour and Tomori could probably benefit from loans but the prospect of injuries piling up in the next month or so, and in the final run in, would make me hesitate on that. Not sure anyone needs to be brought in; I'd rather wait until the summer and think about finding a new backup keeper and deciding whether Thiago Silva and Giroud have another good season in them.
  17. I'm not sure if it counts as "don't involve your team" - I don't actively support Norwich but naturally have an affinity for them on account of being born and raised here - but the Delia Smith "Let's be 'avin you" moment stands the test of time. Also the hype around Norwich beating Man Utd in 2005 (and again, to a lesser extent, in 2012 and 2015) was great. Greece winning Euro 2004, the miracle of Istanbul, and South Korea beating Germany at the 2018 World Cup are up there. In terms of all-time though, it has to be this:
  18. I would imagine it does use up data to play. Maybe not much but certainly not something worth using up a finite resource on haha.
  19. @It's Pronounced Zoom-E Fancy seeing if we can set up an FM12 Network game (if it's still possible)? It's never going to be replaced as the one I've put the most time into.
  20. Echoing the lack of Marcus Rashford being super disappointing. Of those, if it's not Hamilton or Henderson then the entire award is a joke. I am somewhat surprised to see that Ronnie O'Sullivan hasn't been nominated before though.
  21. Here's a question for those of you with actual memories of football in the 1990s: When was David James at the peak of his career? I ask because I just found out he made over 200 appearances for Liverpool between 1992 and 1999. Due to the fact that I don't really have any memories of football before the 2002 World Cup, I only really know him alongside Paul Robinson as competing for the England keeper's spot following Seaman retiring. I knew James was the more experienced of the two, already being in his 30s at the time, but I still think of him as a Man City or Portsmouth player, as opposed to Liverpool or, apparently, Aston Villa/West Ham. For me, the period between David Seaman and Joe Hart is the era of England keepers being Premier League relegation or Championship-level, Robinson aside. Back to the question; David James, when was he at his best?

  23. None of Burnley, Bournemouth, or Brighton actually won promotion to the Premier League. The league has a contractual obligation to have at least one team beginning with B.
  24. 2000 - Ziege and Zagorakis 2008 - Zenden and Zamora 2011 - Zamora and Zabaleta 2019 - Zaha and Zouma These are all complete guesses and the letter Z no longer looks like a real letter.
