  1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUtVpy_bIMo Fantastic.
  2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yd4_G0Uky5U BSG is by far my favorite show, and it's got my favorite opening sequence to boot. Great atmospheric music, fantastic visuals, and it even gives you some insight into the overarching premise of the show.
  3. Anyone catch the Fringe season premiere? Not one of my all-time favorite episodes, but it did need to set up exactly what's happened since the events of the finale, and overall I thought it was good. Definitely excited for the season to ramp up. Minor spoiler regarding last night's episode:
  4. I think Ed Helms was NBC's MVP last night. I was excited to see Andy as manager, and it fit really well IMO. Spader also adds a brilliant new dynamic to the show, seeing all of the series regulars interacting with/reacting to this new whackjob has been great. Community was good too. They did a good job of introducing the new characters, you feel me? Williams and Goodman had me laughing at almost everything they said, both guys seem really dedicated to their characters and I can't wait for the study group to get more involved with them. Highlight of the episode for me was Abed malfunctioning once he heard the news about Cougartown and his subsequent discovery of Inspector Spacetime.
  5. I'll have to choose between Skyrim, Arkham City, and Battlefield 3. I love each games' predecessor, but between money being tight and most of my time being devoted to school, there's no way I can get all three when they come out. I'll probably end up with Skyrim, everything I've seen about that game has made my head explode with awesomeness.
  6. The short answer is yes. Although I never felt it necessary to actively seek out when it's on, I do enjoy it if I come across it. It's just never grabbed me the same way that, say, Bored to Death has. Now THERE'S a show worth watching, especially the second season.
  7. Mac hauling around a garbage bag full of chimichangas was fantastic. I thought everyone had some really funny moments in this episode, with Frank and Charlie boiling their denim they found under the bridge being a series highlight for me. I hope they never actually show "under the bridge" and just keep making insane references to what goes on down there, that's been one of my favorite running gags from the show.
  8. I've been reading up on this upcoming X-Men Regenesis. Don't get me wrong, it sounds cool - I've always been a fan of Marvel and the X-Men in particular, and the story of Schism sounds awesome - but is it a coincidence that it's happening around the same time as the DC reboot? I've only just heard about Regenesis, so I don't know if it's been planned for a while or what. Basically, do you think Marvel is reacting to DC here, or is there evidence to the contrary?
  9. Though I agree on the distaste for Season 3 and some of 2, I really liked Season 4 of Heroes. Samuel was great (as was that actor in Prison Break as T-Bag), and overall I felt it was a return to form in a lot of ways. The implications of the finale with Claire basically revealing to the world that superheroes exist got me really excited for a follow-up. The main thing that annoyed me about that show was how they kept coming up with ways to nerf Hiro's powers, with that sword he needed to find, then... I think somehow his consciousness became that of an 11 year old or something? After a while I began to wonder why they even made him so powerful in the first place, it's been a while since I watched but I feel like there were only a handful of episodes with him being as awesome as someone who can manipulate time and space should be.
  10. Since we're about 13 hours away from the premiere, let's try to get some Sunny discussion going. What's everyone's favorite episode(s) from past seasons? I have a soft spot for The Gang Gets Invincible, Mac and Charlie Die, The Gang Gets Whacked, and Dennis Reynolds - An Erotic Life, although once I've seen this past season's episodes some more they might eek their way into my favorites list. Also, I just found this: http://flavorwire.com/209617/the-15-funniest-scenes-from-its-always-sunny-in-philadelphia Not sure if those actually are the 15 funniest scenes, but I just found it and full-on rapist was the first one I saw so it can't be all bad.
  11. Abed is in the clip I posted! He's wearing a silly fake mustache and everything.
  12. You guys were spot-on about Community. Started watching it from the beginning during the hurricane last night, and God damned if that show didn't charm the pants off of me. Abed and Troy are fantastic, and really everyone on the show does a great job. Also, for those who haven't watched Fringe Season 3, it does dive way more into the grand overarching story, parallel universes and that sort of thing. I won't spoil anything, but the implications of the Season 3 finale are very intriguing. Here's a video they released at Comic-Con this year in keeping with their #whereispeterbishop marketing campaign. It's various actors reading for the role of Peter, hilarious stuff and you're bound to recognize a few faces. EDIT: Sorry, forgot a lot of you guys won't be able to see a Hulu link being in the UK, right? Here's the video on Youtube.
  13. Anybody watch Fringe? I only started watching at the beginning of the summer, starting with Season 1 and having just finished the Season 3 finale, only to find out that Season 4 is less than a month away. Anyway, I thought the show really came into its own sometime during the second season, and most of 3 was fantastic. John Noble as Walter Bishop/Walternate is a joy, and I'm a big fan of the rest of the regular cast as well. Anyone else looking forward to the fourth season?
  14. Saw this gem of a cast photo on Reddit today, complete with kitten mittens:
  15. 1. Ghostface Killah 2. RZA 3. Eazy-E 4. Nas 5. Lil Wayne 6. Jay-Z 7. Raekwon 8. GZA 9. Ludacris 10. Kanye West Most of the bottom 9 are in no particular order, but Ghostface is by far my favorite.
  16. That's fantastic, I had heard Mac gained a bunch of weight but seeing him in that video is hilarious in a kind of shocking way. Can't wait for the new season. Apparently there are people that think they haven't made a good episode since like season 2 or 3, I really don't get that at all. To me, there are absolute gems in every season, and while I still appreciate the charm their earlier episodes had, there's no denying that they've really grown as writers and comedians throughout the series. In related Sunny goodness, FX has renewed the show for another TWO following this coming season - bringing the total up to 9 when all is said and done. They've also renewed Wilfred, which I've heard good things about but never seen, and Louie, which is currently in the midst of one of the greatest seasons of television I've ever seen. Full story here.
  17. Haven't played From Dust myself, but the gents at GiantBomb.com have a video up showing one of them playing the first bit of the 360 version, and they talk about the controls/mechanics and other stuff like that. Their consensus seems to be that the console version plays well enough, and that it's not as much of an "I wish I was using a mouse and keyboard" as you might think based on the type of game it is. If you're curious enough about it, here's a link to the video: From Dust - Quick Look
  18. Don't know if you've played it but FF Tactics has a job/class system, although as the name suggests that's a tactical RPG, so that might not be what you're looking for. Still, Tactics remains one of my favorite FF titles to this day. It does indeed have Dragoons, though I think they call em Lancers in that game for whatever reason (I imagine that's just another part of the overall silly translation in the game).
  19. Browsing through this thread must have gotten my nostalgia juices flowing, because today I remembered that the show Weinerville existed. All I could recall about it was that it had puppets (one of which was a skeleton named Boney who would sing "I'm Booooney, I'm Booooney, leeeave me aloooneyyy"), they would periodically yell "WEEEIIINERRRR WEEEIIINERRRR WEEEIIINERRRR" throughout the show, and it kept me thoroughly entertained. After doing some research, I found this shockingly recent Youtube channel. Anyway, am I aloney in loving this show as a kid? I can't remember the last time I heard it referenced anywhere.
  20. Dusted off my PS2 the other day and started a new game in Dragon Quest VIII. The save file I deleted was over 15 hours in, and I remember liking it, but stopping because I couldn't figure out where to go. Hopefully this run will go smoother, because I really do find the art style of the game very charming, and I'm a sucker for classic JRPG combat/storyline. Besides that, I've been getting back into Oblivion in anticipation for Skyrim. I'm playing as a good character for the first time ever, I don't think I've even stolen or broken into any place illegally with this guy. In fact, I only recently got the Dark Brotherhood prompt that comes up when you kill someone in cold blood (which was bullshit anyway, the guy definitely had it coming). Went to sleep soon after so I could level up, and there's Lucien Lachance hovering over me as he is wont to do. After trying to protest that I was no killer, he told me about the poor old bastard that needed killing, then began to spirit away, but not on my watch: "STOP RIGHT THERE, CRIMINAL SCUM!", I yelled at my TV as I killed him even though he became invisible. Then I took his cool robes and left his body upstairs in the Mage's Quarters at the Arcane University. Yeah, Oblivion is awesome no matter how you play it.
  21. I don't read many comics these days, but one series that I absolutely loved was Astonishing X-Men, which Wikipedia says began in 2004. It's apparently a pretty popular series though, so you might have already read it I suppose. Still though, for anyone who hasn't read it, it's written by Joss Whedon, illustrated by John Cassaday (not sure if that means anything to comic buffs). Every story arc is great, the illustrations are very good from what I remember, and Whedon characterizes everyone on the team brilliantly. He even got me to care about Shadowcat, a longtime least-favorite mutant of mine.
  22. I finally beat Mass Effect the other day, and man, what an ending that game has. The word "epic" gets thrown around a lot, but that's really the best way to describe it. They did such a fantastic job of creating an immersive sci-fi universe that's on par with Star Wars and BSG. Played as a Renegade, which was a ton of fun, and my next playthrough will be a Paragon run. Also, apparently I missed a decent chunk of sidequests along the way, as I'm missing a bunch of achievements. Excited to play through it again, and super excited to start ME2.
  23. Just picked this up the other day, loving it so far. Have you guys been to the Helios One plant? And was everyone else as evil as I was in deciding what to do with all that solar power? Unfortunately I had Boone with me at the time and he didn't take too kindly to that particular choice, so we had a showdown on top of the satellite tower. No bleeding hearts in my camp! Now my companions consist of a senile old lady Super Mutant who thinks I'm her grandson, and a cyber-dog I got from the leader of the gang of Elvis impersonators. Yeah, this game's awesome.
  24. http://g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/708824/Uncharted-Movie-Mark-Wahlberg-Is-Playing-Nathan-Drake.html Thoughts? I don't own a PS3 so I've only played Uncharted at friends' houses, but it seems like a decent enough game series to make a movie out of. Apparently not much else about the movie has been revealed, other than Wahlberg saying Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro might be in it. I've always thought of Uncharted as the video game version of Indiana Jones, so I'm interested to see what they do with the movie version of the video game version of another movie franchise.
