  1. I am psyched for Dortmund. No matter what should be a great adventure. Also I think after Busby's Babes and Fergie's Fledglings, @MDK should be put in charge of finding a new name for this crop of future world beaters
  2. It was a really cool ep. I am only halfway through but I've enjoyed this mini-series. It's a cool nostalgia kick. Also is it me or do David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson just never really age?
  3. http://www.hitfix.com/whats-alan-watching/how-bob-odenkirk-helped-inspire-the-funniest-better-call-saul-scene-yet Cool story about how Bob Odenkirk came up with the cobbler stuff. This show is awesome. It is like my life
  4. Perfectly acceptable, if unexciting. I may be biased because I loved the book, which had a pretty large focus on the life of a time traveler in the 60s that the show seems to have given up on in favor of solely focusing on the whole stopping the JFK assassination thing. Still, not a bad show and James Franco is great in it.
  5. See, I find the whole thing exciting but that's because by and large the atmosphere is fantastic and we only get to see these matches every two years (well at least worthwhile international matches as opposed to friendlies and boring qualification), but the football is honestly not that enthralling. The past four international tournaments have been by and large predictable and won by teams everyone expected to win. The last tournament that wasn't predictable, World Cup 2006, was an absolutely reprehensible shit show where Italy kinda cheated their way to victory (I still think of Grosso throwing himself to the ground in the dying minutes versus Australia and it makes my blood boil). Not to mention Portuguese and Dutch players essentially diving and being violent for an entire tournament and you've got a recipe for disaster. Euro 2004 also had unlikely winners, albeit unlikely winners that put me to sleep by having 11 men behind the ball at all times and then sneaking in a header for the win. So yeah, club football can make me incredibly jaded, but there's no denying that from a purely footballing point of view when someone assembles a team full of talented players, it's going to make for good matches.
  6. To be honest England is probably gonna perform much better at the Euros because Gerrard is gone, as much as Rooney has been lacking form for the past oh ten years or so, he didn't have as negative an impact as some old arrogant dude whose legs were gone, who just barked nonsense, monopolized the play and hoofed balls nonsensically towards the opposition. If I was English, I would have been very happy that Gerrard slipped away into retirement or relative retirement.
  7. Pretty sure I read he was earning 400k a week which sounds fantastic.
  8. Completely didn't recognize Evan Handler as Alan Dershowitz in American Crime Story.
  9. http://www.football365.com/news/parker-sherwood-better-for-united-than-mourinho I know Mourinho's reputation took a hit, but come on
  10. I liked it more when Pires and Henry tried to do it:
  11. Hail Caesar was wonderful. Not one of those Coen brothers movies I'll cherish forever, but a delightfully strange movie.
  12. And now I find myself in the unfortunate position of having to root for the demise of Leicester.
  13. Maybe Mourinho was onto something all those years ago when he deployed Robert Huth as his secret attacking weapon
  14. I was really expecting the standard Ryan Murphy garbage but was pleasantly surprised by how entertaining this was. I'm not that sold on John Travolta but everyone else is so much fun.
  15. Joy Division, Belle & Sebastian, Deerhunter, David Bowie and Animal Collective.
  16. I don't think anyone ever wants Liverpool to win anything
  17. So have we reached the point where we can stop referring to Leicester's league position as a fluke yet?
  18. It's kind of amazing how Stoke went from a team whose main point of attack was a Rory Delap throw-in to a team full of wildly talented players more or less in the span of two seasons. At least one thing didn't change, Ryan Shawcross is still there to kick the shit out of opposition players.
  19. We all know that if Big Sam's name ended with a vowel he'd be Man City boss instead.
  20. So we're set to have two players called Moussa Dembele is what you're telling me?
  21. Liverpool used to win trophies and now they never do so I'm going to say Liverpool.
  22. Another win! I don't think there's a manager in the league I would take over Poch at this point and time. He's a wonderful man and I'm actually starting to believe we could finish top 4. Now let's hope Chelsea get knocked out of the CL ASAP
