  1. Not being a huge Star Wars fan (but having enjoyed the hell out of Dark Forces back in the day), I picked this up today. If you had to suggest the best one to play first (baring in mind I'm not the kind to get a boner over fidelity to the universe etc), which would it be?
  2. Might give Spain a go. It was either that, or trying Rome or England (on a sea map, just for the lolz). I quite liked playing as the... which one is it that has scouts who can choose what you find in ruins? Hiawatha?
  3. Oh man, I dig the old school feel of these. Particularly like the first one.
  4. I'm looking for a new challenge in Civ V from a nation perspective. I've done Polynesia, Austria, Venice, and Russia most recently. Any suggestions if I'm looking for a different and/or more challenging play through?
  5. Ahoy, graphically gifted lads! I'm looking for a poster for my upcoming WWF: Gods Must Be Crazy event, WWF Elimination Chamber. Main matches are the titular Elimination Chambers. One features Kaz, Goldberg, and DDP as the big players. The other features Ric Flair and Bret Hart as the stars, although Undertaker should feature prominently in some way as well. Alternatively, a poster featuring Kurt Angle - as he's the #1 contender regardless of outcome. -------------- If anybody is feeling really adventurous and helpful, individual match banners would be awesome, but not expected.
  6. 1 week of teaching left. Get me outta here!

Yeah 30 more years before the endless summer truly begins.

      Teaching is for... teachers! Yeah!

      You give 'em what-for, Brench.

  7. Oh, both very groovy. I particularly like yours, Loz. Great, old school feel to it.
  8. Hey all! Looking for a banner for my new WWF (not E) diary. Usual size and style for a signature. Title: WWF: The Gods Must Be Crazy If possible, I'd like it to feature any two of each from the following lists. In all cases, the guys should be 'in their prime'. Old Ric Flair Undertaker Bret Hart Diamond Dallas Page Goldberg Razor Ramon Harley Race Jimmy Snuka Yokozuna Chris Benoit British Bulldog Brian Pillman New Kazarian Rob Van Dam Triple H Bobby Roode Kurt Angle AJ Styles Roman Reigns Goldust Big Show Logo: Any WWF logo. Not too fussed on colours or the like. Something that captures the weird blend of old school and modern day wrestling, if that's a thing
  9. I do not fancy Australia's chances of progressing at all. Osieck's time at the top did irreparable damage to the next generation. It's going to take the new coach a while to weed out the dead weight and season the younger guys who had been left out in the cold by Osieck. Only Group 2 nations I see having a chance of progressing out of the group are Japan and Mexico.
  10. It is now 1991 and America just reminded me again how displeased they are about my mistreatment of Manila in the 15th century. It's Minsk now, guys. Move on.
  11. I had a brief war with America in the 1200s in which I conquered Boston and their ally, Manilla. It is now 1946 and I get some contact from America; furious that I had conquered Manilla. Seems like a bit of a long while to hold a grudge.
  12. Poor Adrianople has changed hands four times now in my game. If it weren't for me gifting her Canterbury after I took it from the Poms, poor Theodora would be all on her own. Yet she still denounces me every few decades. As for Adrianople: - Owned by Byzantium - Owned by Babylon - Owned by Byzantium - Owned by England - Owned by me. Renamed Istanbul (I know it was Constantinople, but the number of changes seemed fitting).
  13. For fuck's sake. Wiped out the US, gifted Theodora a city to save her from being razed out of the game, and was about to conquer London when the game crashed. I don't know what it is about playing with any sort of mod active. I'm 4 for 4 with games crashing and being broken from then on. Four hours down the drain.
  14. England don't know who they're messing with when it comes to Mother Russia. If I ask you not to spread your filthy, heathen religion within my borders and you say no - I sack your cities. Silly Elizabeth. London's next.
  15. I'm finding playing as Venice so tedious. I need to explore and colonize - not sit here improving one fugging city.
  16. I picked it up. Annoyed that I need to download and install the crappy Origin client to get the Sims 3 to download though.
  17. After reading about the toe-curling orgasms that Venice seem to induce, I've decided to give them a go. It flies completely against my usual 'massive expansion' style of play. Should be a challenge.
  18. Anybody picked this up yet? I didn't love EU3, so I'm reluctant to throw $40 at this. But I love the time period and I want something a little more in depth than Civ V.
  19. I had that with the Terracotta Army yesterday. I had every city produce one different unit in preparation for a double up and a Holy War against all and sundry, only to have the fucking French build it first. Paris burned, my friends. ----------- Am I the only one who loves this game but just wants more? More civs, more techs, more things I can build etc? I'm insatiable!
  20. I'm the same with Byzantium. Of course you can have that wine for nothing
  21. Diplomatic marriage? I've only just got BNW, so maybe I'm missing it, but where'd that option come from? I'm still sad that my cultural borders can't envelop a neighbouring city state and convert it to my nation. Hate the fuckers dotting my map. I did a random civ and got Austria - its their unique ability. I've only got up to G&K to be honest. Ah, I saw they had something along those lines. I do miss being able to just swallow city states and make them your own. It was terribly satisfying.
  22. Okay, I have to ask and be ashamed that I didn't guess. Monty = Montezuma? Why the love for him? Diplomatic marriage? I've only just got BNW, so maybe I'm missing it, but where'd that option come from? I'm still sad that my cultural borders can't envelop a neighbouring city state and convert it to my nation. Hate the fuckers dotting my map. Rome has done this in my last two games. Unsurprisingly, Rome hasn't made it to Jesus' birth in either game.
  23. Anybody else having trouble actually activating the new Humble Bundle via Steam? I keep getting an error about the server being unreachable. I already owned Dead Island, but couldn't resist picking up the Saints Row games for less than $10.
  24. For your entertainment. Sad that 250+ of those hours were Skyrim. * *Worth:* £623.01 * *Games owned:* 55 * *Games not played:* 36 * *Percentage:* 65% * *Hours spent:* 350.9h
  25. Civ V Gold for $22.50? Too bad the big discount won't hit Brave New World for a few months yet
