  1. So glad to see Nicholas go. This rift they speak of was only because the two of them fucked up then couldn't take it when called on it. And the whole class division was of his doing also. There are so many people I don't like already, which to me is the beauty of the show, as they're all get taken down by Sir Alan's slow yet horribly offensive wit. Has he ever praised anyone for anything in the show outside of the final?
  2. Agreed, absolutely amazing tune. Probably my favourite on the second album. Similarly, apparently a video was shot for "Horrorshow", on the first album, but for whatever reason it was never released as a single...which is gutting, as it's fucking amazing. That would've been great, that's still one of my favourite Libs songs. While I love What A Waster, something like Horrorshow might've been a more sensible option in terms of lyrical content - all it has is a few thinly veiled drug reference as opposed to a whole lot of fucks and cunts. Still, WAW did pretty good to creep inside the top 40.

    Radio Stations

Generally the only radio I choose to listen to in my spare time are shows - featuring more chat than anything else. Examples being Steve Merchant's show on 6 Music and Russell Brand on Radio 2. Neither play awful music, Russell Brand's is pretty good actually. I have Xfm on in the mornings alongside my alarm, I get about 20 minutes of that a day while I'm half asleep still.
  4. My ten year journey with Coventry has finally culminated with winning the Premiership. Probably could've managed it last year, however a combo of focusing on the Champions League (which I won), players being sold and injuries meant it didn't happen. I've got a good few youngsters coming through, however I'm starting to get itchy feet now. Barca are lagging in Spain, mid-table finish under the guidance of Dowie. I reckon I could declare interest and have him shipped out. Barca are rich too, so I could afford to rebuild the squad and include a couple of the young players I want to continue with. Decisions, decisions.
  5. Bet 2 Bolton vs. Arsenal - Bolton 3/1, Draw 9/4, Arsenal 1/5 Bet 4 on draw @ 9/4 Bet 4 Liverpool vs. Everton - Liverpool 1/3, Draw 2/1, Everton 4/1 Bet 10 on Everton to win @ 4/1 Bet 5 Bet 6 on Yakubu for first goal for Everton vs. Liverpool
  6. I will second that. I felt the choice for their final single had to be between that and I'm A Realist, which got the nod in the end. Love both, would've perhaps preferred GLM. As a sub-point, Music When The Lights Go Out was scheduled to be the next Libertines single before they split, I wish they'd held on just a couple weeks more to put that song out.
  7. Bet 3: Manchester United vs. Liverpool - Manchester United 1/2, Draw 3/1, Liverpool 5/2 8 on Draw @ 3/1 Bet 4: Chelsea vs. Arsenal - Chelsea 11/10, Draw 2/1, Arsenal 13/8 8 on Draw @ 2/1 First goalscorer: 4 on Fernando Torres to score first vs. Man United.
  8. Good Charlotte did a cover of Acquiesce by Oasis on TV a while ago. Overlooking the fact that the lyrics were wrong in a lot of places, their version was awful and confirmed my opinion of the band.
  9. I still enjoy PES4, although my disk has scratched beyond being read now. I have 2008 on the PS3, however that's only a continuation of the Master League game I had going on my PC edition of 4. I started on there as Patagonia, who don't seem to have been carried over in the following versions. Nevermind, just a few thousand clicks of the button later and my team as I knew it in PES4 are alive and Master League-ing away on 2008. Probably should've just spent £1 on ebay and got a new version of 4.
  10. My 07 game with Coventry looked to be going well. In about 2014, and after a brief wobble at the start of the season a 14 game run of straight wins had me thinking this year might finally be out year...until Chelsea decided to draw 2, lose 0, and win every other game. It also seems that bar Chelsea and I, the teams challenging for the titles fluctuate a bit too much to be realistic. With pretty much the same team West Ham go from relegation battlers (survived on the last day after I beat them with a 92nd minute goal - Blackburn lost heavier late on and went down) to title chasers. While over the same two seasons Everton went from runners up to relegated. Also, I left my temperamental laptop running with FM overnight as I fell asleep, I woke up to find all the history is wiped from player, manager, cup and leagues. It does this after every season now - it is quite the annoyance but my team is too good to give up on and start over. Oh, and Ian Dowie somehow got the job at Barca after doing nothing of note in his entire life.
  11. Bet 1 - 12 on United to win @ 17 Bet 2 - 4 on Draw @ 2/1 Bet 3 - 4 on Tottenham to score a penalty @ 6/1
  12. Bet 1 Sunderland vs. Chelsea - Sunderland 6/1, Draw 5/2, Chelsea 1/3 5 on draw @ 5/2 Bet 2 Portsmouth vs. Aston Villa - Portsmouth 5/4, Draw 9/4, Aston Villa 6/4 10 on Villa to win @ 6/4 Bet 5 Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United all to win - 100/30 5 on all to win @ 100/30
  13. Not too disappointed as a Gooner. Yes, Liverpool are good at the European style games - which would include their victories in this competition over Chelsea - but Arsenal don't play that way. The style is going to be more that of a normal Premier League game, I'd only have taken Shalke or Fenerbache over Liverpool. Still a very difficult game without a doubt, however one that I'm confident we can and will win (again, I'm sure Liverpool feel the same). EDIT: and it's Arsenal - Liverpool in the league in between the two European ties as well. I think we'll win two - the home CL and League game - and either draw/lose at Anfield but still progressing.
  14. The Libertines' Legs 11 session featured a version of Music When The Lights Go Out that was accompanied by a cello in lieu of a bass player and is amazing. That version couldn't have been included on the second album due to the awful recording quality, but I wish they'd gone into the studio and put that early version of the song down.
  15. Jet WAS Gladiators, anyone growing up in that era will surely agree. Challenge TV keeps the dream alive.
  16. I find it a little annoying when people write Oasis off as nothing more than a stadium/anthem rock band in the vein of U2. If you go back and listen to the first album in particular, Oasis are/were one of the most culturally relevant bands there have ever been. That album was what people went through at the time and something I can still relate to to this day. The Beatles' influences are severely overplayed too, there's as much Stones and T-Rex in there as there is Beatles, yet it's that they get called on every time. Anyway, my favourite Oasis albums in order would be Definitely Maybe, The Masterplan and then either What's The Story or Don't Believe The Truth. Heathen Chemistry has it's moments and it's quite interesting in as much as it helps to document the emergence of Liam as a songwriter. If you look at the progress he's made from Little James through to Guess God Thinks I'm Abel he's come a long, long way. Be Here Now and SOTSOG, well, Noel has distanced himself from those albums at times and admitted he was hardly in the best state of mind when they written. Although when you consider what tracks got bumped off those albums (and later included on The Masterplan/B-sides or salvaged and included on Heathen Chemistry) they could have been better than they were. I'm quite excited about the new album and the continuation of Oasis The Democracy. As stated, Liam continues to get better, Noel looks to be on form if the last single is anything to go by, Andy has been writing amazing tunes for a long time (we'll overlook Hurricane #1 just this once) and Gem's 'A Bell Will Ring' was encouraging.
  17. I've gone for Coventry in my game (I've gone back to the 07 version). Got them promoted at the 3rd time of asking, 1st year in the Prem I came fourth and made it to the Champions League. Took 2 points of AC Milan but didn't get out of the group, went to the semis of the UEFA Cup in the end. After a couple mid-table finishes things were looking up, great start to the season drawing with or beating all of the title rivals. Then my right winger (can't remember his name without the game present at work, very long) breaks his leg, my best player by a mile with the highest assists in the league and my top goalscorer, season over in December. Next year comes, said player comes back and looks every bit as good in pre-season. Then Liverpool bid £41m and he's gone, courtesy of the board. I've been given that £41m to buy a replacement, which makes no sense. I can't get a better player for that money, considering he was only 22 as well, so why not keep him? Our finances were £20m in the black anyway. I hate the board, if I hadn't become so attached to my young prospects and tied them all down to long contracts I'd protest and be off.
  18. The go carts were always the best bit, forget the Funhouse and the naff prizes, win the race. My strategy was planned a good 10 years ago and remains the same to this day, just win the race. Forget the tokens, just do the laps, win, and be smug. And who didn't wish they could go on Finders Keepers as a kid? Rummage around a house with no consequences, meet Mr. Art Attack himself Neil Buchanan, it had the whole package.
  19. There was one of the twins holidaying at some kind of cheap holiday camp when I visited as a young teen. Alone she held no interest. Even as a couple, when you're up against this: you've got no chance, we all know who the star is.
  20. I enjoyed Lost In Translation, but I've always found it hard to explain what exactly about it keeps me watching - so I can understand those who just don't want to/can't sit through it. I watched Adaptation and Punch Drunk Love over the last couple of nights. I'd imagine that these are by no means small time or unheard of films to the masses on here, however I still do not know a single person who has ever heard of either one. In light of that, and ss I enjoyed them both very much (the latter film making me see Adam Sandler in a completely different light), I thought I would give them some love in this thread.
  21. I think Sky have got the pick of the bunch. I'd go for Tyler over Darke, assisted by the face that when it's Darke commentating I keep picturing boxing from his coverage of that. Tyler is a legend.
  22. After years of not being the sanest soul in the world, it would take something quite drastic for someone to decide to have him sectioned. It is a shame, he should be regarded as a legend now given the talent he had and what he could've (and, I suppose, what he did) accomplish, but things just haven't worked out that way for him. His reputation and life outside of football remains as big as it does in football.
