  1. He's woeful. Though on that one Ward wasn't "away" at all. Rojo had stopped long before that when he heard the whistle. Martin Keown is terrible as well.
  2. Well it wasn't even a foul, so there's that...
  3. Tinie Tempah is shit. Could probably do a job for us at left back instead of Rojo though.
  4. Pretty sure fans of United, Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea et al. get just as much stick on here, a large portion of it from Liverpool fans - can't really blame them for enjoying watching Liverpool fail from time to time.
  5. Yup, especially as Walcott was picked for the full squad. Rashford will get a chance in the friendlies, spend time training with the first team, benefit massively and then get cut and spend the summer with the under 20s/under 21s/whatever it is this summer. It's actually the perfect way to use him. What's the point in calling Defoe up for the friendlies only to cut him? We don't exactly need to find out what he can do. Team I would like to see start the first game; Hart, Clyne, Smalling, Stones, Bertrand, Wilshere, Dier, Alli, Rooney, Vardy, Kane. Team I think we will start with: Hart, Clyne, Smalling, Cahill, Rose, Henderson, Wilshere, Rooney, Sterling, Milner, Kane. Also, for the love of god Roy, please stop playing Joe Hart in every friendly and meaningless qualifier. We need to actually see what our sub keepers can do for England. If Hart gets injured in this tournament, we're fucked because we've never given another keeper a look in.
  6. Form wise, you aren't wrong. But I don't think players who haven't been part of the qualification/preparation process were ever going to get in. Rashford being the obvious exception, but he wouldn't be there if Welbeck was fit.
  7. I hate this, honestly. I know Rooney these days is a long way from being our best player but we have an obsession in this country with fitting people in. Argentina don't play Messi out of position just to fit him in. We did it with Paul Scholes for years and look ahere that got us. As for the squad. Lol Delph. Great for Rashford but he won't (nor should he unless Sturridge breaks) make the 23. Brave selection I think. He could've easily picked the usual likes of Jagielka, Baines, Walcott etc but seems to have gone for the younger players which is nice to see. Townsend, Delph, Lallana (to a degree) and Rashford are the obvious names that jump out as "less deserving" but when you really think about it, who else has a significantly better claim than them? Except poor Mark Noble. Delph, Rashford and one of Henderson/Lallana/Wilshere to miss out based on fitness?
  8. On the Ned stuff... did we ever see him lie about killing Dayne? The only reference I can remember in the show is Ned saying he would've died if it wasn't for Howland Reed, which is true!
  9. Second season with Coventry, into March and we've inexplicably moved into second in the Championship with 11 games to go. Looking at my remaining games (mostly against bottom half sides) I'm starting to worry we might grab back to back promotions. My team is so not ready for the Premier League. 5 of my best 7 players are loanees. 35 (i think?) year old Andy Reid (4 pace!) is my back up attacking midfielder and Marcus Tudgay is still getting game time. If anything happens to John Fleck or Jim O'Brien before the end of the season, we are screwed. Jack Barmby has proved a great signing though and Carlton Morris, on loan from Norwich, is my top scorer with 14 goals. I'll take the playoffs at this point. Only four games ago I was wondering whether we'd be able to sneak into the top 6, now we're only 6 off the top with (on paper) a decent run in. I feel like my tactic will break at any moment though. Recently, teams have been creating chances against us but not finishing them, but I can't bring myself to change anything with 6 wins in the last 8. Still, avoid relegation was the aim, happy days!
  10. Actually really looking forward to Legion. I don't normally play the beta, as I like to do everything for the first time when it's live, but I probably will this time if invited. I've exhausted WoD at this point (and I don't even play that much). Will be interested to see whether I'm maining Holy Priest or Ret Pally anyway.
  11. I genuinely don't remember (and admittedly wasn't particularly interested at the time), but was this much fuss made when City and Arsenal left Maine Road/Highbury?
  12. Using our academy graduates extends to what though at this point? Marcus Rashford? Borthwick-Jackson hasn't had a look in since Rojo came back and goes even further down the pecking order when Shaw returns. Fosu-Mensah and Varela can't get in at RB ahead of a winger and Januzaj has regressed even further under LVG. McNair and Blackett have barely featured this season, so LVG's successful youth policy doesn't extend to them. I'm not sure that playing the youngsters only when you're forced to (or because you don't fancy your big money signings) counts as too much progress. I'll give him credit for keeping Rashford in the side, but he forced himself into that position after letting the likes of Hernandez and Wilson go. You can't tell me it's because he had confidence in Rashford when he wouldn't have even played had Will Keane not gotten injured.
  13. We don't play any sort of football at the moment so there's that. Our goalkeeper and two teenagers have been the difference between finishing 5th and finishing mid table. We haven't shown any sign of improvement since day one under Van Gaal. I couldn't even tell you what style of football we are trying to play. If it's to keep possession then why do our back 4 ping so many balls up to a lone front man, or aimlessly into the channels? If it's to keep things tight away from home and nick a goal on the break, why are we forever slowing the game down and constantly having to rely on our Keeper to bail us out of trouble? There's no apparent plan to the way we set up either - Lingard at number 10 and Mata wide? Rooney contributes nothing new to the Midfield and we are still, two years later, playing a winger at full back. At worst, nothing changes with Jose and we end up where we're already at with LVG.
  14. Only one pathetic team on the park and they are wearing white.
  15. Don't worry lads. We'll win the cup, LVG will keep his job, and we'll get this shitshow for another year.
  16. Say what you like about Smalling grabbing in the box. At least he stays with his fucking man. And here comes Lingard...
  17. Also, if ever you needed a snapshot of why Mata is 10,000 times the player Lingard is...
  18. Eh. The good news is City are still shit enough to lose at Swansea on Sunday.
