They beat Metallica for Best Heavy Metal Album in 1989. Jethro Tull are not, nor ever have been, a heavy metal band. They are prog rock. Tull's "Crest of A Knave" beat out Metallica's "...And Justice For All", which everyone not a voter or member of or fan of Jethro Tull knew was absolute bullshit.

Okay, I get what you're saying, but Jethro Tull did the best heavy metal album in 1989. They even won a Grammy for it. 🙄

I mean, this sounds pretty heavy metal to me 😕

They're considered a prog rock group, that album was barely metal, and at the time everyone and their brother that was not a Tull fan called bullshit on them winning it over Metallica. Alice Cooper was the one presenting the award, and you could tell he was even stunned. It is still considered one of the biggest injustices in Grammy history.

Also, I doubt most people can name any Jethro Tull songs besides `Aqualung'.

What are some other injustices? Does Heidi like Metallica?

Actually, Heidi's more of an ACDC fan. But Metallica have always been popular, ....And Justice... was a really good album, and Jethro Tull have never really been popular at all. News outlets talked about what happened and talk show hosts made fun of it. There is no way Jethro Tull deserved that award. It was the first and ONLY year  that award was given out , because the Academ knew they screwed up and split Hard Rock and Heavy Metal into two separate awards after that. But the next year, Metallica won 3 Grammies.

Tull's win is still considered the biggest upset in the history of the Awards.

And there have been plenty of Best New Artist winners that weren't around long. The ones that comes to mind are Paula Cole, who was basically a one or two hit wonder, but beat Erykah Badu, Fiona Apple, Puff Daddy and Hanson (okay, Hanson isn't exactly the best example), and Milli Vanilli, who handed theirs back after being busted as a fraud.

I said `most people'. You list that many songs, I'm betting either you're a fan, have lived with someone who is who played them a lot, OR you looked songs up.

I am just upset at you disrespecting Jethro Tull. And justice for all isn’t even a very good album. That Jethro Tull one (full disclosure I’ve never listened to it) is way better.
