Everyone knows who Metallica are....well i hoppe they do.

They happen to be my favourite band, and i was just wondering what everyone else thinks of them? Favourite songs/albums etc. Or why you dont like them (unless its cause of napster, in which case, yes they were selfish, but lets not get into a deep debate over it)

Personally, my favourite song would be either whiskey in the jar, the unforgiven 2, or Seek and destroy, with my favourite album being Kill Em All.

Anyone else?

Ride the Lightning is one of my favorite albums of all time, and Fade to Black is probably my favorite song ever. Other favorites are Master of Puppets, The Shortest Straw, One, Whiplash, No Leaf Clover, The Memory Remains, Ride the Lightning, & The Unnamed Feeling.

Crap, now I gotta go listen to my Metallica playlist.

As like most of the population of Metallica fans, I only really like the stuff up until after The Black Album. After that, a few songs are good, but not as many as before that. I don't like them that much now because of the Napster shit and the fact that the music generally sucks now.

I respect them for what they did for metal, but it's pretty much time for them to hang it up, IMO.

I liked Ride The Lightning, but for the most part they seem fairly over-hyped and over-rated. They're a good band, but they've been churning out a lot of crap ever since the Black Album, and there are so many better metal bands out there that deserve their success more than them.

The only decent song they've done in the last few years is Mama Said.

That and they've turned Rob Trujillo into a generic metal bassist, damn them! That said, I want to see how the new album will turn out, just to see if Trujillo had any input into the writing process or not, and if he'll bring out some slap bass.

Shit, I forgot S&M. I wouldn't go that far, but it's fairly quality. It's pretentious as fuck, but it works. A hell of a lot better than when KISS did it, anyway.

I've seen them live twice now. I don't really listen to them much anymore, but they are still good. I mean, St. Anger blew, but even Load and Reload had some good songs on the cds.

My favorite songs are Dyers Eve (it's great, they perfomed it live too), Unforgiven II, One, Fade to Black and Blackened.

I kinda thought I'd lost touch with Metallica, didn't rate a lot of their new stuff until I watched Some Kind of Monster. It got me to actually get St Anger and I was surprised to find it's a pretty solid album. Not a Kill Em All or Ride the Lightning does actually find me getting in.

Damn, Im way obsessed with metallica. To me they are just the greatest band on the face of the planet. I know it sounds pretty shallow and narrow minded, but they're just my favourite band and always will be.
