That'd be funnier were it true, but as it stands the armour models in WOTLK look 120% better than the Outland greens did. There are some green items that just look fucking awesome, pretty sure there's one viking looking helm that's green.

Also, tier 6 gear.. particularly Sunwell tier 6... is likely to carry you well into the late 70's.. if not being better than some 80 blues.

Sadly, I will be going into WoTLK with shit gear, mostly; the guild I joined has quit raiding until WoTLK. I did finally hit lvl 70 a few days ago, but there haven't been many pick up raids going on, and the pick up raids that are happening are all Kara - I'd rather do ZA (no way I'd get in a Sunwell raid with the gear I have at the moment, and I haven't seen any Sunwell pick up raids going on - Black Temple, either)

Right now, I'm using the Sonic Spear that dropped off Murmur in SL for my melee weapon, but have a green bow I bought off the AH, and have had really crappy luck rolling on loot I actually need the past couple days - and the SL run I did, every boss except Murmur dropped Paladin gear.

Oka, so I'm trying to make some money so can afford the next riding level up (I'm lvl 53 at the mo). What do people find is the best way to up their gold intake? My profession skills are a little behind at the mo, but that can be improved. FYI, I'm a Tauren Hunter specialising in Skinning and Leatherworking. :)

Skinning is the way to go; you can either sell the leather as-is or make armor kits and sell those. I'm a leatherworker, myself (dragonscale), but I rarely make armor anymore, except for skill-ups, and even then I usually end up vendoring the armor. (343 skill at the moment)

If you haven't already, take up fishing - and get the Fishing Buddy mod if you don't already use it. You can sell various fish in the AH because some of them are used for things besides fishing (Stonescale Eels - I fish for those at Steamwheedle Port in Tanaris). If you do cooking and already have the recipe or don't mind farming for it or buying it off the AH, or know someone who will cook them for you, go to Lushwater Oasis in the Barrens (the lake outside Wailing Caverns) and fish for Deviate Fish, which can be made into Savory Deviate Delights. I get about 20g a stack for the Delights, usually. (Only need fishing skill at 50 to fish in the Barrens, if I remember right)

*edit* Another good reason for the Barrens? You can farm the mobs at the Sludge Fens for Linen Cloth to sell if you get bored fishing. Not sure if any of those mobs can drop the Savory Deviate Delight recipe, though.

Thanks for that. The Deviate tactic seems to be the way to go I think. In other news, my main hit 55 today so I can have death knight goodness when Lich comes out :D

Just look on the AH for Wool Cloth for example, just try to find out what is low on stock in the AH.

On my server it was Woolen cloth. 25-30g per stack, I farmed the Cloth in Hillsbrad, and made around 500g from it.

Just look around a bit, you'll find your own goldmine ;)

*edit*

Oh and Rugged leather usually goes for high prices too.

Thanks for the advice. I've been spamming fishing yesterday and got it up to 205 with cooking up to 150ish too. The guide GM linked me too is pretty sweet and I'd recommend it.

Probably gonna take a slight break from it to level my char a bit further. Next target is 60 for Outland goodness.

Oh, whilst I'm here, has anyone had one of the moments where you just stumble across something that works in your favour and feel quite smug about it? I was levelling by Leatherworking and needed Medium Leather, which seems a bit of a bitch to find as most zones its in you can get anywhere from Light through to Heavy dependent on a roll. Then I stubmled across The Howling Veil in the northern corner of Ashenvale with the Fleshripper manwolve things. Skinning them gives Medium 99% of the time, there's quite a lot of them (for such a small area) and they have quite a quick re-spawn rate. Fun times indeed.

Plenty of times, to answer your question. For instance, a couple times now I've needed ores to skillup my blacksmithing and stumbled across a Rich Adamantite Vein. Just the other day I was thinking about leveling my smithing up a point or two more before WOTLK and I put the notion in the back of my mind and set off to do my dailies on the Isle of Quel'Danas and came across two Rich Addy Veins that netted me about 10-12 adamantite and a few smithing skillups. Was great.

Clearly, if you all either played a.) horde-side on Maelstrom or b.) Alliance-side on Frostwolf.

But as it stands there have only been about a dozen thousand failed attempts at an EWB guild because nobody wants to relocate, and I can't say I blame them for the most part.

Is the European server? I forget where everyone is from on here? I'd happily roll an alt on either of those if it's Euro.

Slymyr Lake in Terrokar Forest is another good place for farming - you can make 100G+ per hour off the Motes of Water, greens and vendor trash that drops if you don't need to spend too much time healing/recharging.

Otherwise, if you can make Heavy Netherweave Bandages snap up any Netherweave in the AH that's going for <15s per piece (I tend to buy at 20 for 2G40s) as you can then sell 20 HNBs for 6G a stack to vendors.

And as previously noted, the moths you can get from the vendor in the Exodar and the cats you can buy from the vendor just outside Stormwind always sell well - for example, I bought fifteen moths yesterday for around 5G and made a profit of about 60G once they all sold. People always want pets *shrug*

On that note, Stormwind has the cart lady, Exodar has the moth seller, Darnassus has the owl vendor... Is there a pet seller in Ironforge?

Put it all together and I was able to buy my epic flying mount last week. Only a few days before Wrath, so I won't be able to use it for long, but in the absence of any decent warrior gear available to buy, well, why not?

No pet vendor in Ironforge. However, you can get a snowshoe rabbit pet from a vendor at the place you buy the ram mounts in Dun Morogh. (Not the same vendor as the mounts, though; its a kid who runs around a bit, if I remember right)

The Exodar moths are decent profit. I have a Shaman stationed there (ie, not using him much at the moment) and was selling the moths for a while (haven't sold any in about a week); I'd pay 42s 50c per moth and sell them for around 3g. I was selling them 5g for a while but was getting undercut by other people. Now that my Hunter is 70 and I can do dailies, its not really worth my time to bother selling moths.

Did a Kara raid that was split over two days (friday and saturday) with members of another guild on my server that I'm not considering joining; we cleared through Shade of Aran the first day, did the rest the next (skipped Nightbane on day one and did him last on day two, with Netherspite fought after the Prince). I was hoping for the Prince to drop the bow, but he didn't. However, I did get the Arcanite Ripper and Gorehowl. (They were using a 1 need, 1 greed system for the raid)

Geez, Blizzard really screwed up yesterday. First, when normal maintenance is over everyone logs on to find out that all in-game mail is gone, and the game was down until like 9 or 10pm CST last night while they tried to fix it. When it came back up everyone had an in-game mail from Blizz Support asking players not to phone support or put in a GM ticket because they're working to reimburse everyone. Then, after the servers are back up, people notice that some Season 4 gear is missing rating requirements, some season 2 gear has no cost, one of the season 4 axes has no cost at all, etc.

Blizzard acknowledges this problem, asks people not to buy the bugged PVP gear, and now the game's down for 3 hours this morning while they fix the PVP gear bug. Certainly not what Blizzard or the players were hoping for in the day(s) leading up to WOTLK. Ouch.
