Ljungberg is, and should remain, a midfielder. In the last season Reyes has been playing more on the left wing, although his ability as a striker is clear to see.

To be honest, at this stage in his career, I doubt Prso would take a chance at Newcastle. He seems to love playing for Rangers, so why would he go anywhere else at 32?

He can probably play to the SPL level for longer than he could play at Premiership level.

We've been linked with Defoe and it seems to be a pretty strong chance of the move happening, especially with Spurs bringing in Berbatov.

Defoe is one of those players that Jol likes to have around, though. Especially now that Mido's gone, we've only got 3 top-drawer strikers, and only young guys and that dude we signed from Derby who hasn't done anything, on the fringe. Had we kept Mido, I could've seen Jol getting rid of Defoe, but not anymore. He's not going anywhere.

His attitude might cause problems, but for £6 million it's probably worth the gamble - what a bargain. If it wasn't for the release clause he probably would've cost us the same amount (if not more) as Cisse.
