A lot of the songs were a lot mellow-er than I was expecting. But it's awesome. As it really adds to the whole "Every album is different". The slight synth twinge every now and then is awesome. But it's brilliant how they do it. As the 'electro-y' stuff is never in the foreground, and it used to add depth to the music, it's brilliant.

I love the reference to "Virtue The Cat" again. Songs from the point of cats need to happen more.

The entire album...it's just fucking immense. Definately an album of the year candidate. The Weakerthans are one of the few bands where I'd probably say EVERY album they've produced thus far is probably a 9/10.

Not sure how this stands in relation to the rest yet. It's probably better than "Fallow". Definately not as good as "Reconstruction Site". Not sure about "Left & Leaving".

And "Night Windows" is epic. The bass riff is sex to my ears. "Relative Surplus Value" is probably my favourite track though.

OH MY GOD!!!

As if this week could not get better, another one of my eagerly anticipated albums got leaked. Every 'punk-rocker' appears to have some form of acoustic project going on, but nobody can touch Joey Cape although Aaron Scott (formerly of hardcore-punk band Marathon) has his own amazing charm with his new project Attica! Attica!

"Dead Skin, Dried Blood" by Attica! Attica!

GET IT!!!

Get The Weakerthans album as well. :shifty:

The Weakerthans album is pretty great.

Also, Marmoset's new album is class, the leaked Akron/Family is too Animal Collective and Life Without Buildings' posthumous (:() live album is all kinds of wonderful.

The new Rilo Kiley song is strange. It's really not Rilo Kileyish for one, it's like the Postal Service meets solo Jenny Lewis meets techno pop, in conclusion I do not really like it. Feels odd.

But maybe it's a grower.

I'm slowly easing my way into indie rock and the like. I have become interested in The Flaming Lips, Death Cab, Rilo Kiley, The Go! Team, Neutral Milk Hotel, etc. I'm on the fence about Interpol, TV On the Radio, Modest Mouse, Arcade Fire, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. For those who have more knowledge of such a genre, would you suggest anything based on those artists?

Give The New Pornographers a try. Architecture in Helsinki are sorta like the go team, I'd also listen to 69 love songs by the Magnetic Fields because it sounds as if it was the inspiration for most of these bands.

I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness are kind Interpolish. If you want the Death Cab mould check out Margaret and the Nuclear So-So's (get beyond the first track for the love of god :P). The Decemberists are a more normal, for lack of a better word, version of Neutral Milk Hotel. You should definitely check out Bodies of Water if you like the Arcade Fire. Sparkelhorse and Band of Brother are both somewhat similar to the Flaming Lips though it's hard to find similar bands as them. Nothing quite like the Go! Team, though if you want something a bit like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs check out Metric.

Also, the new Rilo Kiley has leaked in full.

Downloading! And perhaps fapping >_>

I'm considering having my cock chopped and a cunt created so that I can have lesbian sex with Tegan and Sara for making The Con.

Plus since they're lezzers it helps the 'I know you're a lesbo mixtape' I'm working on.

The new Jens Lekman is wonderful. On first listen it's not as good as his last, but great nevertheless.

Also. Caribou's Andorra is one of my candidates for album of the year.
