I stand by what I always said - FFXIII is not a bad game, but it just doesn't feel like an FF. If they'd have marketed the entire XIII franchise as "Fabula Nova Chrysalis", then they'd have had an almost guaranteed alternative money franchise on their hands in a similar vein to Kingdom Hearts, but the fact they made it a Final Fantasy just set people up for a let down.

But, by the same token, it probably wouldn't have sold as well without the FF name value, so you've got a bit of a catch-22.

I like that idea...they should have done that.

Bought the DLC yesterday. I managed to stagger Lightning and get her down to about 3/4 health before her friend showed up and made the battle last all of 10 seconds.

Also, thank fuck Noel doesn't look like Sora so much anymore with this new costume.

By the way...anyone manage to get the Feral Link Trophy yet? I swear I've done it a hundred plus times and it still hasn't popped.

Okay, game ending spoilers, there's no actual info on what happens, but it WILL piss you off anyway...

... their is NO happy ending, not in any way shape or form. According to the spoilers I've read, the 100% completion bonus scene is just a scene with Caius bringing about the paradox. There's still a "to be continued", meaning that they're going to force you to either get DLC or buy another game in order to get a happy/true ending.

Seriously, fuck Square-Enix. It's like they want people to hate them.

Reading that just completely zapped away how much I've been enjoying the game and officially puts it on the backburner in favor of anything else I might get the urge to play. Fuck those guys.

... it's not even like it's an ambiguous end. You fail your entire mission, the universe is scrubbed out of existence. It's not a case of a bittersweet ending, it's a case of 30 odd hours just to get told you've wasted that time

I finally got the game today!

Fuck, it's so good. I played 11 hours in one sitting. Ten thousand times better than XIII. I love it. Sucks that the ending is apparently shitty, but I'm going to try and not let that ruin it for me. Apparently there's more to it than "To Be Continued" if you do a bunch of other quests or something.
