Football Manager 2008

Ok, now I really don't get this game, we've just smashed 5 past Spurs, one game after drawing a blank against the mighty Reading. The fans are delighted, Adebayor has got himself a starting place up front, unfortunatly Dawson molested RVP in the 13th minute. Hopefully it isn't a bad one, but playing Walcott was genious. I'm really enjoying the game at the moment, a nice challenge.

You know, I kind of want to lose a match just so it'll get rid of that annoying big "If Arsenal should avoid avoid defeat today they will have notched up a run of blah blah blah" that fills up the milestones box for every match. Grr.

Edit:

Bolton granted my wish. :(

Silly Chairmen, tricks are for kids. And don't the Dutch know they can't touch me? I saved their goddamn country in WWwhoknows. Plus it's nice the swing I have over a team, since Gansler was in charge for 11 days. I say I want the job and they give him the boot.

No sensible person who is tasked with fixing bugs sets public deadlines.

Nope...but they refuse to give us any sort of date when we're likely to see it. I don't want an exact date or time...I just want to know roughly when I'm likely to see it. They obviously know how close or far away they are from releasing it.

I personally think that at the moment, the game is unplayable. I've noticed others playing on here, and seemingly enjoying it - But even they know there's a lot of problems with the game.

I just think that for the amount everyone paid for the game, it contains way too many easily spotted bugs. What do the test team do exactly?

That's my rant over anyway. People can try and defend the game all they want, that's fine. I'm certain FM 2008 will be a great game...but only when it gets patched.

Oh for fuck sake...

Hi All,

Thanks for continuing to support us by purchasing Football Manager 2008, it means a great deal to everybody connected to making the game.

We are busy working on the 8.0.1 Patch and while we do not have a specific release date in mind at this time, we hope to have it ready for public download within a couple of weeks.

The 8.0.1 Patch will resolve many of the issues you've reported to us and we'd like to thank all of you who have contributed in the Bugs Forums.

As soon as we have a specific date set in stone, we will keep you informed by posting again as well as providing a list of changes too.

Thanks for your patience during this time.

Cheers,

Neil

...I suppose at least now we're being given a rough time.

I'd consider having as many goals ruled out for offside/a foul as I've scored ...a major problem. Like TSSTB said, maybe I am bitching too much, but have you looked at the amount of bugs reported on the SI forums? The one I mentioned is very annoying, and with "testers" around, should never have made the final game.

As per yesterdays forum post, we have decided to make a beta version of the 8.01 patch available for people to try.

For those who don't know what a "beta" is, it's a test version that we would normally use internally to test the fixes that have been made.

We have decided to release this to you due to people having issues with the workaround for the closing down bug, and a couple of other long term issues that people have discovered, as well as a few compatibility issues that a few users have experienced on their machines and the Securom copy protection that is being used on the game.

We will be releasing a final version of the patch in a couple of weeks, once we're happy with it and have gone through a full test cycle internally. The final version will also include data changes.

There will be many different versions of the "beta" patch available for the different variations of the game. As these become available, the game name will be in bold lettering.

Football Manager 2008 Mac boxed - coming soon (hopefully this week)

WWSM 2008 PC boxed - coming soon (likely early next week)

WWSM 2008 Digital Download - coming soon (likely early next week)

The reason for them being available at different times is that the different versions all need different installers, which take quite a bit of time to build, and also need to be tested (the installer) before we can make them live. We appreciate your patience during this time, and they will all go live as soon as we can get them done.

Hastily written, *then edited by Matt - see me after class, Mr Jacobson* legal blurb - please note that, as this is a "beta" version of the patch, it is a test version and therefore not the final version. We haven't finished testing it yet, so use it at your own risk, but we expect it to be ok. Whilst we believe we've fixed the issues, We'd like to hear, of course, if you encounter further problems, so we can try and rectify them.

Why is it that AC Milan merely needs to breathe in the direction of any player and immediately said player is desperate to leave and unhappy if you don't let him? You can stop your whining Clichy - you're not going. I let Adebayor got to Real Madrid and Eboue go to AC Milan, but then I hardly played them. You can just sit back down and be happy like you were just 24 hours ago. <_>
