The Ultimate Christmas Playlist

Alright I've been trying to put together a playlist for Christmas because I can't seem to walk in the snow to anything but. So anything goes, because people could be looking for a certain type of xmas music that I personally find shite. For starters I got:

Dean Martin - Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Dean Martin- Silver Bells

Dean Martin - White Christmas

Dean Martin - Winter Wonderland

Eagles - Please Come Home For Christmas

Oasis - Merry Xmas Everybody

Slade - Merry Xmas Everybody

"Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" by Death Cab For cutie

"Father Christmas" by The Kinks

Anything by Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

"Fairytale of New York", hands down the BEST Christmas song in existence. It is run close by "Christmas on Hollis" (thank you Die Hard) and "'Zat You, Santa Claus?", but all three are good choices.

Intense hyperbole for the win. Again.

Personally I find Slade and Wizzard to be my favourite Christmas songs.

I'm with you on this one Benji.

As for other tracks:

"I Believe In Father Christmas" is another one of my favourites.

Fairytale Of New York I do consider to be faraway the finest Christmas song ever written, though, largely because it reflects my own distaste for more "conventional" Christmas songs (sure Slade and Wizzard are fun and all, but I'd hardly consider them "good songs"), but mostly because it's an incredible tune whether it's Christmas or not.

Although "Christmas 1979" by Billy Childish has some incredible tracks on there that could easily come close to Fairytale, but'll never have anything approaching the success of it, unfortunately.

Bruce Springsteen's "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" is a laugh. And I suppose you could go with Pearl Jam's "Let Me Sleep (Christmas Time)".

Stop the Cavalry- Jona Lewie

Surprised Christmas is Awesome hasn't been mentioned yet.

Stop The Cavalry is the mightiest Christmas song.

Hunt down the "Cockney Christmas" album. My in-laws have it so it's tradition we listen to it while we eat every year.

"'ark the 'erald angels sing,

glary to th'noo born king"

That sounds like the most amazing thing ever.
