Am I the only person in the world who hates Anchorman?

After putting off watching this alleged comic masterpiece for years my fiance and I finally got around to watching it last night and I can honestly say I laughed one time (when they said Brick became an advisor for the Bush administration) through the entire debacle. I was really disappointed because I usually love Will Ferrell movies, love everything I've seen Paul Rudd in, and have liked every comedy I've seen since Superbad. So I'm wondering if anyone else actually liked this film.

PS: My anticipations were high as all through high school everyone lauded it as the best comedy in recent history.

I can see why after all the hype you might not have liked it, but the beauty in it is that it's almost too over the top. It's not a traditional comedy in some ways, it takes the precedents laid down by films like those by Ben Stiller and Adam Sandler, throws a whole lot of Ferrel in the mix and just lets itself be ridiculous to the extreme.

But TKz is right, I'm sure it's just a matter of not living up to the hype it's gotten. I mean, it's probably the most quoted movie of the decade so I'm sure you'd probably heard all the funny lines numerous times throughout the years making the movie less funny.

It's a great movie. I do think a lot of people have started to dislike it just because it became so popular and so quoted. Still, I really enjoy it. I put Talladega Nights ahead of it, but only by a little.
