I am surfacing for the first time since last night. I have ignored all texts (including one from a girl who described herself last night as "happier than when I got engaged") and my mat who rang 4 times, got others to ring me and who by all accounts on Facebook was in tears and standing on tables in the bar during the game last night.

I was gutted Chelsea won in all honesty, though I'm not begrudging them winning or saying they didn't deserve to. Bayern couldn't get it done and they should have done. Robben and Ribery, Robben especially, were really poor for me. Cole, Cech, Cahill all had superb games.

Gutted for Spurs, because that rule change is stupid, I'm gutted for Anderlecht too and don't get why they've decided to give Chelsea their spot in the group stage. That is total bullshit if you ask me, they should be taking Tottenham's play-off round spot or at the very worst Arsenal's group stage spot. So fuck UEFA, because none of that is Chelsea's fault.

Bring on the Euros now, I'd like to forget this ever happened for as long as possible.

How did Anderlecht manage to lose the group stage spot anyway? How was this game even remotely related to the Belgian league?

I assume Belgium were the lowest coefficient team to have a team qualify for the group stages. It's bollocks really that the players have lost that bonus because of this.

Gorgeous day in Munich. It was only 9:30am when this was taken.

Spent a lot of the day in the Olympiapark, where they had a Football Festival on all weekend.

Champions League museum set up under the park. Here they have signed shirts of all the captains in this year's competition.

Many, many Chelsea fans setting up home in the Hofgarten (our offficial meeting point was Odeonsplatz, next door, but that hadn't as good a beer supply...).

IT IS A FUCKING EPIC SEAT. And surprisingly identical to my FA Cup Final seat, actually.

The arena is open plan all the way around, so fans from both sides can mingle freely. Somehow I don't think this would fly in a West Ham vs Millwall game.
