Second round concluded tonight, the whole Allen/Hearn thing doesn't seem have got in the way of his snooker, he beat Ali Carter 6-2.

Wednesday 7 Dec Results:

Mark Williams (Wal) 3-6 Ricky Walden (Eng)

Martin Gould (Eng) 4-6 Shaun Murphy (Eng)

Marco Fu (HK) 6-3 Mark Selby (Eng)

Ali Carter (Eng) 2-6 Mark Allen (NI)

Tuesday's 6 Dec results:

Ronnie O'Sullivan (Eng) 5-6 Judd Trump (Eng)

Ding Junhui (Chn) 6-5 Matthew Stevens (Wal)

John Higgins (Sco) 4-6 Stephen Maguire (Sco)

Graeme Dott (Sco) 3-6 Neil Robertson (Aus)

Quarter-finals start tomorrow afternoon I believe;

Stephen Maguire (Sco) v Judd Trump (Eng)

Ding Junhui (Chn) v Neil Robertson (Aus)

Ricky Walden (Eng) v Shaun Murphy (Eng)

Marco Fu (HK) v Mark Allen (NI)

Should be interesting to see who goes on to win this with quite a few of the top names being knocked out, I have a feeling that Marco Fu might win it for some reason.

I've got it on. Spirited display by Allen, Trump's just lacking that experience to get over the line at the moment. I still think he'll do it though, he has a chance right now in the 18th frame. 9-8 as it stands to Trump.

And Trump does it 10-8 and he's UK champion.

Trump could easily do a Hendry and win everything for the next 5 or 6 years, the way he's playing at the moment I don't see any reason why he couldn't and it's scary to think he'll only get better too.

Wouldn't suprise me if Ronnie packs it in this season, I think he's ranked 15th now and he has no interest in playing in the smaller events so he'll more than likely be out of the top 16 sometime early next year and I can't see him being arsed going through the qualifying matches for the major events.

Welsh Open started on monday, main news is Stephen Henry beat Mark Robertson 4-1 and Steve Davis beat Ali Carter (is he still retiring at the end of the season? Carter I mean, The Nuggent will go on until he's 80). Ken Doherty made a brief appearence, losing to Mark Allen 4-0.

Matthew Stevens playing Barry Hawkins right now. Hawkins missed a black when only needed another red, Stevens cleared to the pink to lead by 12 with 13 left, missed the pink but flucked a snooker then flucked the pink in to take the frame. Unbelievable luck.

WEDNESDAY 15 FEBRUARY

Mark Allen (NI) 4-0 Ken Doherty (Ire)

Ronnie O'Sullivan (Eng) 4-1 Marco Fu (HK)

Next on:

Stephen Maguire (Sco) 2-0 Adam Wicheard (Eng)

Matthew Stevens (Wal) 1-0 Barry Hawkins (Eng)

Tuesday's results

Stephen Lee (Eng) 4-1 Michael Holt (Eng)

Mark Williams (Wal) 4-3 Andy Hicks (Eng)

Neil Robertson (Aus) 1-4 Stephen Hendry (Sco)

Stuart Bingham (Eng) 4-2 Mark King (Eng)

Martin Gould (Eng) 4-2 Peter Ebdon (Eng)

Mark Selby (Eng) 4-3 Sam Baird (Eng)

Monday's results

Ding Junhui (Chn) 4-0 Mark Davis (Eng)

Allister Carter (Eng) 3-4 Steve Davis (Eng)

Judd Trump (Eng) 4-0 Fergal O'Brien (Ire)

Shaun Murphy (Eng) 4-2 Mark Joyce (Eng)

Graeme Dott (Sco) 2-4 Tom Ford (Eng)

John Higgins (Sco) 4-1 Liang Wenbo (Chn)

Started today and Stephen Hendry has just made a 147. Magic moment from arguably the greatest ever. He's looking in good form as he leads Stuart Bingham 6-1 at the moment.

Edit:

Today's scores so far;

John Higgins (Sco) 5-4 Liang Wenbo (Chn)

David Gilbert Eng 6-3 Martin Gould (Eng)

Stephen Hendry (Sco) 8-1 Stuart Bingham (Eng)

Ken Doherty (Ire) 2-7 Neil Robertson (Aus)

Best of 19 in the first round.

Higgins went through 10-9 in the end, sets up a potential Higgins vs Hendry in the second round, which suprisingly would be the first time those two have ever met at The Crucible.
