That being said - Jameson Taillon, Gerrit Cole, Mark Appel. In 3 years you guys will only need to score like, 3 runs a game to win the division.

Yep, it's kind of a weird yet exciting time to be a Pirates fan. And to think, people here want to run Neal Huntington out of town.

The Pirates were an above 500 team last year then at the all star break they just fell apart, they have actually been outscored by like 17 runs. But on a different note. Is their a better 1-2 starting pitchers than The Nats, Strasberg and Gonzalez? Those 2 are having great seasons.

The Pirates were 2 games over 500 at July 31 last year so they can compete, its just can they compete the whole year, Like the O's are competing but at the end of the year if they are 500 or better they can consider themselves having a good season compared to past years.

Not that pythag win/loss means anything this early but their record is the exact inverse of their pythag. They should have a losing record.

I'm hoping they either fall apart soon and make some trades for the future. But if that doesn't happen, I guess it wouldn't hurt to send Joel Hanrahan on his way if it means we can bring in a bat.

They can also probally get something for Erik Bedard for a contender down the stretch, but AJ Burnett will be very difficult to move his contract is huge.

Amazingly, the Braves have the 3rd best record in the NL, behind Washington (!!!) and the Dodgers. Atlanta's also tied for the most road wins in the majors w/20. Would not have called this, do not expect it to continue.

Am I missing something with Austin Jackson? He was dropped in our league and no one tried to pick him up. He seems awesome. Did I make a mistake?

He's a strikeout machine, but so far this year he's had signs of turning around his plate discipline. I like him, but I had a bad experience with him and his .317 OBP last year to give him a shot this time around.

Going to see Stephen Strasburg throw live today. It doesn't even bother me that it's against the Jays, I will watch with childlike wonderment.

It just seems wrong to see the Natinals doing so well. 15 over .500 and we're only midway through June.
