The 2012 Summer Transfer Window thread

Lucas Moura is apparently on €250k a week for four years, at nineteen years old. That's €35k a day for him. And including agent fees the outlay for PSG has been €100m.

Man Utd probably did right to steer clear, even at €43m they were smart to steer well clear. Let alone the additional fees on top of that. Insane money.

In football league news, Burnley have signed Doncaster Rovers captain Brian Stock.

And El-Hadji Diouf has signed for Leeds United. Last season the Elland Road faithful chanted "Dioufs a cunt, his wifes a slag". I wonder if that will continue now

Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has said he will report an unnamed Premier League club for an illegal approach for highly rated winger Matt Phillips. Holloway told BBC Radio Lancashire: "Somebody's made an illegal approach and we can prove that. They should do things correctly so I'm not happy. The Football League and the Premier League will be informed about that."

Alejandro Bedoya could face Celtic in the Champions League after leaving Rangers to sign for Helsingborgs. The United States midfielder, 25, has decided against staying with the Ibrox club, financial problems meaning they are now in Division Three.

Ugh. I'm going to find it really hard to support that horrible wanker.

Joey Barton's proposed loan move from QPR to Fleetwood has fallen through.

BBC Radio Lancashire reported that the 29-year-old England cap had been set to join the Cod Army on a six-month loan deal, which would speed up the time it would take to serve his 12-game ban.

However, it is now thought that QPR have opted against loaning the midfielder to a League Two side.

Barton said on Twitter: "Fleetwood adventure is over. I loved every minute of it. Great club."

I just remembered about all the Diouf/Warnock business in the past too. With Warnock calling Diouf a sewer rat and Diouf saying he didn't care what Warnock said because he was less than nothing.

Should be fun for them at least. :)

Very disappointed in that one - he was almost certain to play more at Everton. Definitely don't see it ending out well. But again, like the Sinclair deal, you can't really blame either party.

I suppose for Everton its best to sell Rodwell for about 15-20 mil rather than Baines or Fellaini

Ugh, that's a shame. I'm cynical with English players going to City, Rodwell's a real bright hope and I feel his career is gonna stagnate. He's just not gonna play enough games to develop into the player he could be if he were to stay at Everton and become their main man in midfield or whatever. I feel any other team in the league would be a better choice than City when it comes to young English players who aren't Joe Hart.

Not sure what Rodwell has eer done to warrant all the big money rumours he generates

I've bolded the relevant.

Jack Christian Rodwell (born 11 March 1991) is an English International footballer who plays for Manchester City as a defensive midfielder. Rodwell has represented his country at all levels from Under-16 to the senior team.
