I feel as though my film watching has stagnated lately to the point where I'm only watching stuff to keep up my average on Letterboxd. Why else would I watch The Darkest Hour? Anyway, well, see the title of the thread. Recommend away! I may throw in some capsule reviews for good measure if I can be arsed.

Any film I've already seen will be skipped (although I will have the courtesy to tell you).

And based on a discussion in the Super Secret Secret Forum earlier, film #1 is The Fifth Element.

The American - Corbin

Persona - Bergman

Fallen Angels - Kar Wai

Night on Earth - Jarmusch

My Neighbour Totoro - Miyazaki

some good stuff here. Alot of different stuff.

I'm SamCookeMate on letterboxd so look through my ratings if you like! :)

What kind of movies do you like?

As long as it's not in 3D, I'll watch it. If I had to pick a definitive genre, then 1950s science-fiction films but I've long exhausted them.

He doesn't.

You hate on a single terrible comic book film and you suddenly become a film snob. :/ , I say.

EDIT: 9 to 5 - I've seen Mars Attacks. I LIKE THAT ONE LL, SO FUCK YOU.

Le Samourai, Melville (1967)

The King Of Comedy (1983)

Pierrot Le Fou (1967)

M (1931)

A Matter of Life and Death (1946)

Ten (2002)

Witten on the Wind

Mine Bites Dog (1992)

and for Sci-Fi, definitely forbidden planet (1956) if you haven't seen it

I'm sure you've nearly seen all of 'em, but I thought they were great, anyway. There's probably more I'd edit in.

I, honestly, have no idea what movie you're talking about. :shifty:

Also, nothing wrong with being a film snob! Embrace it.
