I really should check the TV section of the board more often.

I happened to run across Arrow on an encore of the first episode, and been watching ever since. I'm not familiar with any of the comic references. I get the feeling I should have watched The Flash in order to get a lot of the upcoming crossover references. I DVR'ed the first five episodes, then deleted it thinking I was falling too far behind and wasn't gonna get myself to commit.

Someone once tried to argue with me that Laurel was better than Felicity, both as a better written character and better looking. She's a fool.

Part 2 of the crossover tonight. Great as well, but overall I think The Flash episode was the stronger of the two. It seems easier to incorporate Oliver into the goofy, yet occasionally serious tone of The Flash then it was to incorporate Barry into the serious, occasionally goofy tone of Arrow

I watched the trailer for next week. What is it with Ra's al Ghul and bare chested sword fighting?

They didn't say it was him, but I assume so

Oh I know it was him, I'm saying nearly every time I see him in something he's in a sword fight where no one is wearing shirts and I'm wondering why.

I would expect its somewhat symbolic. The ideology of the assassins suggests that they are the very best at what they do, he's the man in charge. Therefore he doesn't need protective clothing/armour because he's so good he'll never get hit.

Another good episode! But I agree, The Flash episode was the better of the two.

Overall I think Arrow has the stronger over-arching story, whilst Flash is better week to week. It doesn't really matter, because they're both amazing, but each have their own strengths. It probably helps that we've barely touched the Reverse Flash plot, whilst Arrow has set up R'as Al Ghul and The League of Shadows more. (Which is understandable, Flash is still establishing it's characters and universe, Arrow's had the time to do that)

Something tells me that Arrow's mid season finale is going to end with Ollie face down on the mountain top, whilst R'as makes his move towards Thea and Merlyn.

Just watched the second part of the cross over and I loved it. I wouldn't even go near trying to decide which one I liked between between the two because they both had so many elements that I enjoyed. Both shows continuously get better each week and I'm genuinely excited for this weeks show. I think it would have been awesome to get Liam Neeson back as Ra's but the guy playing him doesn't seem half bad in the role so far.

Man. That fucking episode. So god damn good.

I'm going to go ahead and say this is shaping up to be the best portrayal of R'as Al Ghul yet. That entire fight was gorgeous and played exactly how it should.

This show, man. I just... I didn't think it could top Season 2. But this episode and the way everything ties together... it's getting up there. Week to week, Arrow can sometimes be a little weak, but when it comes to overarching storylines, nothing can top Arrow in the superhero TV show competition.
