This might cheer you up then @Adam...

The Besiktas president has said that the striker Cenk Tosun will join Everton and that the transfer will be completed by the weekend.

The negotiations between the two clubs have been ongoing for several weeks and the two parties met in London on Wednesday, agreeing a deal which will see the 26-year-old join the Premier League side for £27m.

“Our interests and the players interests are important,” Fikret Orman said. “Cenk wants to join Everton. We want to do our part and we are working on a replacement.

“The era of buy, buy, buy is over. This is the era of buy, add value and sell. A final deal has not been reached yet but we have an agreement over the price. The end is near. The transfer will be wrapped up by the weekend.”

Manchester City are interested in signing Real Sociedad defender Inigo Martinez. Sky Sports News understands City are actively trying to sign a new centre-back in January and Martinez is one of their options. Man City also remain keen on West Brom defender Jonny Evans, who was a target for them in the summer. Albion boss Alan Pardew said on Monday that they would wait to see if a club made a bid for Evans before deciding on his future. He has also admitted he is planning for a potential replacement.

Jamie Murphy will undergo a medical at Rangers this afternoon after a fee in the region of £1m was agreed with Brighton for the forward.

Nile Ranger has had his contracted terminated by Southend because of reoccurring disciplinary issues, including timekeeping.

Juventus are confident they will be able to sign Emre Can on a free transfer in the summer, the Serie A side having offered the Germany international a five-year contract worth £85,000 a week and a sizeable signing on fee.

The 23-year-old is out of contract at the end of the 2017-18 season and has been unable to agree a new deal with Liverpool. The Germany international is wanted by a host of top European clubs but Juventus believe they have stolen a march on everyone else and that a deal will be concluded soon.

The Turin club has held positive talks with Can’s representatives with the player seeking reassurances of how he fits in to Max Allegri’s plans.

Can joined Liverpool for £9.75m in 2014 after the Premier League club met the buyout clause in his contract with Bayer Leverkusen. He has won 20 caps for Germany, having made his debut in September 2015.

Juventus were interested in signing Can in January but were told by Liverpool that there was no chance of that happening.

Liverpool have already signed a central midfielder for next season with Naby Keïta arriving from RB Leipzig for a fee in the region of £55m.

Apparently Chelsea are back in for Ross Barkley. A man who has been injured for so long that he's probably forgotten what a football is.

A man who has no obvious natural position within either our current 3-5-2 or 3-4-3 formations.

A man who is virtually your archetypal England International in that he spends his whole career flattering to deceive and having 'potential' and no doubt continue in that vein until suddenly he'll be 30 years old and no one will quite seem to understand how.

AND a man who was literally had a medical at Chelsea last August before going "..........nah" at the very last second.

But hey, £15 million for someone with six months left on his contract is a bargain these days. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The most average of footballers.

If Chelsea needed home grown players they could have kept some of the decent ones they had instead of always loaning them out and then selling them.

I assumed that was why we bothered signing Drinkwater tbh.

That is what I thought. Unless Chelsea see something in Barkley that the rest of the world doesn't.

Home grown quota for the CL or something?

This is why Chelsea are being linked with Andy Carroll.

That would involve using them and not just cheating the system.
