The January Transfer Window - 2018

Aubameyang is an absolutely class signing. Usually we don’t do particularly well replacing big name players when they leave, but this is an exception. Adding Mkhitaryan to the mix should serve well. It looks as though this is going to lead Özil to signing a new deal.

Now, can we just sign a defender and a midfielder today?

So happy to sign Aubameyang he's an absolutely top quality world class player but I still think our whole tactics need overhauled. Think it's been a pretty great transfer window though. Now just to pull out of the Giroud deal and fuck Chelsea over :shifty:

Yeah, Mkhi and Aubameyang in for Theo and Alexis is decent business, especially as you were always going to lose the latter anyway.

Is it though? They've sold a left-sided attacker and a right-sided attacker and replaced them with a central striker, which they already have in Lacazette and a number ten, which they already have in Ozil. So you either play one of Laca and Auba out wide on the left out of position and Mkhi plays out on the right like he did at Man United, which doesn't really suit him.

Just play them all in the center, let Bellerin turn into a right winger like he clearly wants to be and shrug in a Gallic fashion at the rest of the line up.

Ozil has signed a new deal at Arsenal through till 2021.

Now that's the key piece of business they've done.

Chelsea have reached agreement in principle with Arsenal for the transfer of Olivier Giroud, Sky Sports News understands. We believe the 31-year old striker has undergone a medical and will sign a contract that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until June 2019, with an option for another year. Giroud’s agent travelled to London this morning to conclude the deal, thought to include a transfer fee of £15.3m with £2.2m in bonuses. Arsenal and Chelsea are yet to comment.
