Southampton agree £19.1million fee with Monaco for Guido Carrillo - although a deal is not yet signed, according to Sky sources. Sky Sports News reported earlier this month that the Saints were keen to sign the 26-year-old, who previously worked with boss Mauricio Pellegrino in their native Argentina.

Javier Mascherano is heading for a new adventure after Barcelona confirmed a deal had been agreed with Chinese club Hebei China Fortune. Barcelona are also in advanced negotiations to sign Montreal Impact youngster Ballou Tabla, reports The Washington Post. Barca are keen on the 18-year-old, who was born in the Ivory Coast but has represented Canada at under-20 level. It is believed they are already in advanced talks to sign the forward, who would link up with the Catalan giants’ reserve side Barca B if he makes the move to Spain.

Swansea and Sevilla are in talks over a potential loan deal for Roque Mesa, according to Sky sources. Mesa not played as much as he would have liked for Swans and has struggled to make an impact since his big money move. He is keen to return to Spain and it would also reduce their wage bill as they look to sign a striker. In terms of the loan deal nothing has been finalised or agreed yet.

Baba Rahman is on his way to a medical at Schalke from Chelsea, according to Sky sources in Germany. Contract negotiations are still ongoing between the clubs and Schalke want to sign him for 18 months on loan.

I think this, alongside the similar rumour that we're looking at Kurzawa from PSG for LWB, is last-minute negotiation leverage with Roma, rather than tangible interest. The fact that both stories originate from the same Italian journalist (Di Marzio) seems a bit of a red flag for me.

Sky sources understand Watford are close to completing the signing of IFK Gothenburg goalkeeper Pontus Dahlberg. Dahlberg has had a medical ahead of a £3.5m move. The 19-year-old is likely to go out on loan once the deal is finalised.

We’re so bad at this transfer thing. Can only seem to sign these top players when they’re unwanted by their current clubs, ie, Sanchez and Özil.

How much do they want? Reports seemed to suggest Arsenal were about 7m short of what they were asking. Seems a bit silly to argue over that much these days.
