Plus he seemed pretty set on going back to France, and Marseille in particular because of family reasons. He was completely unprofessional in doing so, but I figure he thought unless he did something drastic, the window would pass him by and he'd be waiting til the summer at the very least.

The owners wanted to do an FM and let him rot in the reserves for the rest of the season, but Billic wanted to offload him for the sake of unity in the squad.

Swansea City have agreed a swap deal with Aston Villa that will see Neil Taylor and £5 million leaving the Liberty and Jordan Ayew heading in the opposite direction. Local sources believe a basic deal is now in place between the two clubs with just personal terms left to agree.

They'll be better than what we have available, simple as that, might not set the world alight but I'm not going to say no to either of them.

Oviedo is a good player, just injury prone. As a like-for-like replacement at left back (especially with his attacking skills) he seems a good fit to take over from van Aanholt.

Gibson...not so much. But I'm glad he's off the books anyway.

Good stuff. Neil Taylor has been horrendous for the past few seasons but it is a shame there isn't a Welsh first team member now.
